1 Give thanks to Yahweh; proclaim his name; make known his deeds among the peoples.
1 Dai graças ao SENHOR, invocai o seu nome; fazei conhecidos os seus feitos entre os povos.
2 Sing to him; sing praises concerning him; tell of all his wonderful works.
2 Cantai-lhe, cantai-lhe salmos; falai de todas as suas obras maravilhosas.
3 Boast about his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.
3 Gloriai-vos no seu santo nome; alegre-se o coração daqueles que buscam ao SENHOR.
4 Make supplication to Yahweh and his might; seek his face continually.
4 Buscai ao SENHOR e a sua força; buscai a sua face continuamente.
5 Remember his wonders that he has done, his signs and the judgments of his mouth,
5 Lembrai-vos das obras maravilhosas que ele fez, dos seus prodígios e dos juízos da sua boca;
6 O offspring of Abraham his servant, you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones.
6 Ó vós, semente de Abraão, seu servo, vós, filhos de Jacó, seus escolhidos.
7 He is Yahweh our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
7 Ele é o SENHOR nosso Deus; os seus juízos estão em toda a terra.
8 He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded for a thousand generations,
8 Ele lembrou-se do seu pacto para sempre, da palavra que ordenou a milhares de gerações.
9 that he made with Abraham, and by his oath swore to Isaac.
9 O qual pacto fez com Abraão, e o seu juramento a Isaque.
10 He then confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
10 E confirmou o mesmo a Jacó por uma lei, e a Israel por um pacto eterno,
11 saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment that is your inheritance.”
11 Dizendo: A ti darei a terra de Canaã, a porção da vossa herança.
12 When they were ⌞few in number⌟— a trifle—and were sojourners in it,
12 Quando eles eram poucos homens em número, sim, muito poucos, e estrangeiros nela;
13 and they wandered about ⌞among the nations⌟, from one kingdom to another people,
13 Quando foram de uma nação a outra, e de um reino para outro povo;
14 he allowed no one to oppress them, and he rebuked kings on account of them,
14 Não permitiu que homem nenhum os oprimisse, sim, ele repreendeu a reis por sua causa;
15 “Do not touch my anointed ones, nor harm my prophets.”
15 Dizendo: Não toqueis nos meus ungidos, e não causeis danos aos meus profetas.
16 Then he called for a famine upon the land; he broke every ⌞supply⌟ of bread.
16 Além disso, chamou a fome sobre a terra, quebrantou todo o sustento de pão.
17 He sent a man on ahead of them; Joseph was sold as a slave.
17 Enviou um homem perante eles, José, que foi vendido como escravo;
18 They clamped his feet in fetters. His neck went into irons.
18 Cujos pés machucaram com grilhões; foi posto em ferros;
19 Until the time his word came about, the word of Yahweh tested him.
19 Até o momento em que veio a sua palavra; a palavra do SENHOR o provou.
20 The king sent and he freed him; the ruler of the peoples sent and let him loose.
20 O rei ordenou que o soltassem; o governador dos povos o libertou.
21 He made him lord of his house and ruler of all his possessions,
21 Fê-lo senhor da sua casa, e governador de toda a sua riqueza,
22 to obligate his officials ⌞as he saw fit⌟ and teach his elders wisdom.
22 para sujeitar os seus príncipes ao seu prazer, e ensinar aos seus anciãos a sabedoria.
23 Then Israel came to Egypt, and Jacob was a sojourner in the land of Ham.
23 Israel também veio ao Egito, e Jacó peregrinou na terra de Cam.
24 And he made his people very fruitful. He also made them stronger than their enemies.
24 E ele aumentou o seu povo grandemente, e o fez mais forte do que os seus inimigos.
25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal deceitfully against his servants.
25 Mudou o coração deles para que odiassem o seu povo, para que lidassem sutilmente com os seus servos.
26 He sent his servant Moses, together with Aaron whom he had chosen.
26 Enviou Moisés, seu servo; e Arão, a quem ele tinha escolhido.
27 They set before them the words concerning his signs and portents in the land of Ham.
27 Mostraram os seus sinais entre eles, e prodígios na terra de Cam.
28 He sent darkness and made it dark, and they did not rebel against his words.
28 Ele enviou trevas, e a fez escurecer; e não foram rebeldes à sua palavra.
29 He turned their waters into blood and it killed their fish.
29 Ele tornou as suas águas em sangue, e matou os seus peixes.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings.
30 A sua terra produziu rãs em abundância, nas câmaras dos seus reis.
31 He spoke, and there came flies and gnats throughout all their territory.
31 Ele falou, e vieram vários tipos de moscas, e piolhos em todo seu litoral.
32 He gave hail for their rains and the fire of lightning in their land.
32 Ele deu-lhes granizo por chuva, e fogo abrasador na sua terra.
33 And he struck their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their territory.
33 Feriu as suas vinhas e também as suas figueiras, e quebrou as árvores dos seus litorais.
34 He spoke and there came locusts and young locusts without number.
34 Ele falou e vieram locustas e lagartas sem número.
35 And they ate up all the vegetation in their land, and they ate up the fruit of their ground.
35 E comeram toda a erva da sua terra, e devoraram o fruto do seu solo.
36 And he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the first of all their virility.
36 Ele também feriu a todos os primogênitos da sua terra, o principal de todas as suas forças.
37 Then he brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled.
37 Ele os tirou com prata e ouro, e não houve uma pessoa fraca entre as suas tribos.
38 Egypt was glad when they departed, because the fear of them had fallen upon them.
38 O Egito se alegrou quando eles partiram, pois o medo caíra sobre eles.
39 He spread out a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light at night.
39 Ele espalhou uma nuvem por coberta, e um fogo para dar luz à noite.
40 They asked, and he brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
40 O povo pediu e ele trouxe codornas, e os saciou de pão do céu.
41 He opened the rock and waters flowed; they coursed through the dry places like a river.
41 Ele abriu a rocha, e as águas saíram; correram pelos lugares secos, como um rio.
42 For he remembered his holy ⌞promise⌟; he remembered Abraham his servant.
42 Pois ele se lembrou da sua santa promessa, e de Abraão, seu servo.
43 And so he brought out his people with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing.
43 E trouxe dali o seu povo com alegria, e os seus escolhidos com regozijo.
44 And he gave to them the lands of the nations, and they inherited the labor of the peoples,
44 E deu-lhes as terras dos pagãos; e eles herdaram o trabalho dos povos;
45 so that they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise Yah.
45 para que guardassem os seus estatutos, e guardassem as suas leis. Louvai ao SENHOR.
