1 Give thanks to Yahweh; proclaim his name; make known his deeds among the peoples.
1 Louvai ao Senhor e invocai o seu nome; fazei conhecidas as suas obras entre os povos.
2 Sing to him; sing praises concerning him; tell of all his wonderful works.
2 Cantai-lhe, cantai-lhe salmos; falai de todas as suas maravilhas.
3 Boast about his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.
3 Gloriai-vos no seu santo nome; alegre-se o coração daqueles que buscam ao Senhor .
4 Make supplication to Yahweh and his might; seek his face continually.
4 Buscai ao Senhor e a sua força; buscai a sua face continuamente.
5 Remember his wonders that he has done, his signs and the judgments of his mouth,
5 Lembrai-vos das maravilhas que fez, dos seus prodígios e dos juízos da sua boca,
6 O offspring of Abraham his servant, you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones.
6 vós, descendência de Abraão, seu servo, vós, filhos de Jacó, seus escolhidos.
7 He is Yahweh our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
7 Ele é o Senhor , nosso Deus; os seus juízos estão em toda a terra.
8 He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded for a thousand generations,
8 Lembra-se perpetuamente do seu concerto, da palavra que mandou, até milhares de gerações;
9 that he made with Abraham, and by his oath swore to Isaac.
9 do concerto que fez com Abraão e do seu juramento a Isaque,
10 He then confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
10 o qual ele confirmou a Jacó por estatuto e a Israel por concerto eterno,
11 saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment that is your inheritance.”
11 dizendo: A ti darei a terra de Canaã por limite da vossa herança.
12 When they were ⌞few in number⌟— a trifle—and were sojourners in it,
12 Quando eram ainda poucos homens, sim, muito poucos, e estrangeiros nela;
13 and they wandered about ⌞among the nations⌟, from one kingdom to another people,
13 quando andavam de nação em nação e de um reino para outro povo,
14 he allowed no one to oppress them, and he rebuked kings on account of them,
14 não permitiu a ninguém que os oprimisse, e por amor deles repreendeu reis, dizendo:
15 “Do not touch my anointed ones, nor harm my prophets.”
15 Não toqueis nos meus ungidos e não maltrateis os meus profetas.
16 Then he called for a famine upon the land; he broke every ⌞supply⌟ of bread.
16 Chamou a fome sobre a terra; fez mirrar toda a planta do pão.
17 He sent a man on ahead of them; Joseph was sold as a slave.
17 Mandou adiante deles um varão, que foi vendido por escravo: José,
18 They clamped his feet in fetters. His neck went into irons.
18 cujos pés apertaram com grilhões e a quem puseram em ferros,
19 Until the time his word came about, the word of Yahweh tested him.
19 até ao tempo em que chegou a sua palavra; a palavra do Senhor o provou.
20 The king sent and he freed him; the ruler of the peoples sent and let him loose.
20 Mandou o rei e o fez soltar; o dominador dos povos o soltou.
21 He made him lord of his house and ruler of all his possessions,
21 Fê-lo senhor da sua casa e governador de toda a sua fazenda
22 to obligate his officials ⌞as he saw fit⌟ and teach his elders wisdom.
22 para, a seu gosto, sujeitar os seus príncipes e instruir os seus anciãos.
23 Then Israel came to Egypt, and Jacob was a sojourner in the land of Ham.
23 Então, Israel entrou no Egito, e Jacó peregrinou na terra de Cam.
24 And he made his people very fruitful. He also made them stronger than their enemies.
24 E ele multiplicou sobremodo o seu povo e o fez mais poderoso do que os seus inimigos.
25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal deceitfully against his servants.
25 Mudou o coração deles para que aborrecessem o seu povo, para que tratassem astutamente aos seus servos.
26 He sent his servant Moses, together with Aaron whom he had chosen.
26 Enviou Moisés, seu servo, e Arão, a quem escolhera.
27 They set before them the words concerning his signs and portents in the land of Ham.
27 Fizeram entre eles os seus sinais e prodígios na terra de Cam.
28 He sent darkness and made it dark, and they did not rebel against his words.
28 Mandou às trevas que a escurecessem; e elas não foram rebeldes à sua palavra.
29 He turned their waters into blood and it killed their fish.
29 Converteu as suas águas em sangue e assim fez morrer os peixes.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings.
30 A sua terra produziu rãs em abundância, até nas câmaras dos seus reis.
31 He spoke, and there came flies and gnats throughout all their territory.
31 Falou ele, e vieram enxames de moscas e piolhos em todo o seu território.
32 He gave hail for their rains and the fire of lightning in their land.
32 Converteu as suas chuvas em saraiva e fogo abrasador, na sua terra.
33 And he struck their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their territory.
33 Feriu as suas vinhas e os seus figueirais e quebrou as árvores dos seus termos.
34 He spoke and there came locusts and young locusts without number.
34 Falou ele, e vieram gafanhotos e pulgão em quantidade inumerável,
35 And they ate up all the vegetation in their land, and they ate up the fruit of their ground.
35 e comeram toda a erva da sua terra, e devoraram o fruto dos seus campos.
36 And he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the first of all their virility.
36 Feriu também a todos os primogênitos da sua terra, as primícias de todas as suas forças.
37 Then he brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled.
37 Mas, a eles, os fez sair com prata e ouro, e entre as suas tribos não houve um só enfermo.
38 Egypt was glad when they departed, because the fear of them had fallen upon them.
38 O Egito alegrou-se quando eles saíram, porque o seu temor caíra sobre eles.
39 He spread out a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light at night.
39 Estendeu uma nuvem por coberta e um fogo, para os alumiar de noite.
40 They asked, and he brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
40 Oraram, e ele fez vir codornizes e saciou-os com pão do céu.
41 He opened the rock and waters flowed; they coursed through the dry places like a river.
41 Abriu a penha, e dela brotaram águas, que correram pelos lugares secos, como um rio.
42 For he remembered his holy ⌞promise⌟; he remembered Abraham his servant.
42 Porque se lembrou da sua santa palavra e de Abraão, seu servo.
43 And so he brought out his people with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing.
43 E tirou dali o seu povo com alegria e, os seus escolhidos, com regozijo.
44 And he gave to them the lands of the nations, and they inherited the labor of the peoples,
44 E deu-lhes as terras das nações, e herdaram o trabalho dos povos,
45 so that they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise Yah.
45 para que guardassem os seus preceitos e observassem as suas leis. Louvai ao Senhor !
