1 Better a poor person walking in integrity than one who is perverse ⌞in his speech⌟ and is a fool.
1 Melhor é o pobre que anda na sua integridade do que aquele que é perverso em seus lábios, e é um tolo.
2 Also, a life without knowledge is not good, and he who moves quickly with his feet ⌞misses the mark⌟.
2 Assim como não é bom ficar a alma sem conhecimento, peca aquele que se apressa com os seus pés.
3 As for the folly of humankind, its way leads to ruin, and against Yahweh his heart will rage.
3 A tolice do homem perverte o seu caminho, e o seu coração se irrita contra o SENHOR.
4 Wealth adds many friends, but the poor will be left by his friends.
4 A riqueza faz muitos amigos, mas o pobre é separado de seu vizinho.
5 A witness of falsehood will not go unpunished, and he who breathes lies will not escape.
5 A falsa testemunha não ficará impune, e aquele que fala mentiras não escapará.
6 Many will seek favor before the generous, and everyone is the friend of a man of gifts.
6 Muitos suplicarão o favor do príncipe, e todo homem é amigo daquele que dá presentes.
7 All the brothers of the poor, if they hate him, how much more will his friends keep away from him. He pursues them with words, and they are gone.
7 Todos os irmãos do pobre o odeiam; quanto mais se afastarão dele os seus amigos! Ele os busca com palavras e, ainda assim, elas lhe faltam.
8 He who acquires wisdom loves himself; he who guards understanding loves to find good.
8 Aquele que adquire sabedoria ama a sua própria alma; aquele que mantém o entendimento encontrará o bem.
9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes lies will perish.
9 A falsa testemunha não ficará impune; e aquele que fala mentiras perecerá.
10 For a fool living in luxury is not fitting, any more than it is for a slave to rule over princes.
10 O deleite não é decoroso para um tolo, muito menos um servo dominar sobre príncipes.
11 The understanding of a person makes him slow to his ⌞anger⌟, and his glory overlooks offense.
11 A discrição de um homem retém a sua ira, e é sua glória passar por cima da transgressão.
12 The rage of a king growls like a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
12 A ira do rei é como o rugido de um leão, mas seu favor é como o orvalho sobre a grama.
13 A foolish child is a ruin to his father, and the quarreling of a woman is a continuous dripping.
13 O filho tolo é a calamidade de seu pai, e as contendas de uma esposa são um gotejar contínuo.
14 A house and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, but from Yahweh comes a woman who is prudent.
14 Casa e riquezas são a herança dos pais, e a esposa prudente vem do SENHOR.
15 Laziness will bring on a deep sleep, and a person of idleness will suffer hunger.
15 A preguiça lança em profundo sono, e a alma indolente sofrerá a fome.
16 He who guards commandments guards his life; he who is careless of his ways will be killed.
16 Aquele que guarda o mandamento, guarda a sua própria alma, mas aquele que despreza os seus caminhos morrerá.
17 He who lends to Yahweh is he who is kind to the poor, and his benefits he will repay to him.
17 Aquele que tem pena dos pobres empresta ao SENHOR, e aquilo que tiver dado, ele lhe pagará novamente.
18 Discipline your child, for there is hope, but on his destruction do not set your desire.
18 Castiga o teu filho enquanto há esperança, e não deixes que a tua alma ceda por causa de seu choro.
19 A hot-tempered person pays a penalty; if you rescue him, you will do it yet again.
19 Um homem de grande ira sofrerá a punição, porque se tu o livrares ainda terás de tornar a fazê-lo.
20 Listen to advice and accept instruction so that you will gain wisdom for your ⌞future⌟.
20 Ouve o conselho, e recebe a instrução, para que no fim possas ser sábio.
21 Many plans are in the heart of a man, but the purpose of Yahweh will be established.
21 Há muitos propósitos no coração do homem, porém o conselho do SENHOR permanecerá.
22 The craving of a man is his steadfast loyalty, and it is better to be poor than a ⌞liar⌟.
22 O desejo de um homem é sua bondade, é melhor um homem pobre do que um mentiroso.
23 Fear of Yahweh leads to life; he who is filled with it will rest—he will not suffer harm.
23 O temor do SENHOR tende à vida, aquele que o tem habitará satisfeito; não será visitado pelo mal.
24 A lazy person buries his hand in the dish, and even to his mouth he will not bring it back.
24 Um homem preguiçoso esconde a sua mão em seu peito, e não tem disposição nem de levá-la à sua boca.
25 The scoffer you shall strike, and the simple, may they learn prudence, and reprove the intelligent and he will gain knowledge.
25 Bate em um escarnecedor, e o simples tomará cuidado; e reprova alguém que tenha entendimento, e ele entenderá o conhecimento.
26 He who does violence to a father, he who chases away a mother, is a child who causes shame and brings reproach.
26 Aquele que aflige o seu pai, e expulsa sua mãe, é um filho que causa vergonha e traz desonra.
27 Cease to listen to instruction, my child, ⌞and you will stray⌟ from sayings of knowledge.
27 Filho meu, ouvindo a instrução, cessa de te desviares das palavras do conhecimento.
28 A worthless witness will mock justice, and the mouth of the wicked will devour iniquity.
28 Uma testemunha ímpia escarnece do juízo, e a boca do perverso devora a iniquidade.
29 Judgments are prepared for the scoffers, and flogging for the back of fools.
29 Preparados estão os juízos para os escarnecedores, e os açoites para as costas dos tolos.
