1 Yea, at this, my heart quaketh, and starteth up out of its place.
1 Sobre isto treme também o meu coração e salta do seu lugar.
2 Hear! oh hear! the raging of his voice, A growling sound also, out of his mouth, goeth forth;
2 Dai ouvidos ao trovão de Deus, estrondo que sai da sua boca;
3 Under the whole heavens, he letteth it loose, His lightning also, unto the wings of the earth;
3 ele o solta por debaixo de todos os céus, e o seu relâmpago, até aos confins da terra.
4 After it, roareth a voice, He thundereth with his voice of majesty, Nor will he hold them back, when his voice is heard.
4 Depois deste, ruge a sua voz, troveja com o estrondo da sua majestade, e já ele não retém o relâmpago quando lhe ouvem a voz.
5 GOD thundereth with his voice, wonderfully, Doing great things, which we cannot know;
5 Com a sua voz troveja Deus maravilhosamente; faz grandes coisas, que nós não compreendemos.
6 For, to the snow, he saith, Fall earthwards,Also to the downpour of rain, yea the downpour of his mighty rains.
6 Porque ele diz à neve: Cai sobre a terra; e à chuva e ao aguaceiro: Sede fortes.
7 On the hand of every man, he setteth a seal, that all men may take note of his doing.
7 Assim, torna ele inativas as mãos de todos os homens, para que reconheçam as obras dele.
8 So then the wild-beast hath gone into covert, and, in its lairs, doth it remain.
8 E as alimárias entram nos seus esconderijos e ficam nas suas cavernas.
9 Out of a chamber cometh a storm-wind, and, out of the north, cold.
9 De suas recâmaras sai o pé de vento, e, dos ventos do norte, o frio.
10 By the breath of GOD, is givenfrost, and, the breadth of waters, is congealed;
10 Pelo sopro de Deus se dá a geada, e as largas águas se congelam.
11 Also, with moisture, burdeneth he the thick cloud, He disperseth his lightning-cloud;
11 Também de umidade carrega as densas nuvens, nuvens que espargem os relâmpagos.
12 Yea, the same, in circles, turneth itself to and fro, by his steering them to their work, whithersoever he commandeth them, over the face of the world, towards the earth.
12 Então, elas, segundo o rumo que ele dá, se espalham para uma e outra direção, para fazerem tudo o que lhes ordena sobre a redondeza da terra.
13 Whether, as a rod, or for his earth, or in lovingkindness, he causeth it to come.
13 E tudo isso faz ele vir para disciplina, se convém à terra, ou para exercer a sua misericórdia.
14 Give thou ear unto this, O Job, Stay, and consider well the wonders of GOD:
14 Inclina, Jó, os ouvidos a isto, para e considera as maravilhas de Deus.
15 Canst thou got to know of GODS giving charge over them, or of the causing of the lightning of his cloud to shine forth?
15 Porventura, sabes tu como Deus as opera e como faz resplandecer o relâmpago da sua nuvem?
16 Canst thou get to know concerning the poisings of the thick cloud, the wonders of one who is perfect in knowledge?
16 Tens tu notícia do equilíbrio das nuvens e das maravilhas daquele que é perfeito em conhecimento?
17 That thy garments should be hot when he quieteth the earth from the south?
17 Que faz aquecer as tuas vestes, quando há calma sobre a terra por causa do vento sul?
18 Didst thou spread out, with him, the skies, strong as a molten mirror?
18 Ou estendeste com ele o firmamento, que é sólido como espelho fundido?
19 Let us know what we shall say to him, We cannot set in order, by reason of darkness.
19 Ensina-nos o que lhe diremos; porque nós, envoltos em trevas, nada lhe podemos expor.
20 Shall it be declared to himthat I would speak? Were any man to say aught, he might he destroyed?
20 Contar-lhe-ia alguém o que tenho dito? Seria isso desejar o homem ser devorado.
21 Yet, now, men see not the light, bright though it is in the skies, when, a wind, hath passed over, and cleansed them.
21 Eis que o homem não pode olhar para o sol, que brilha no céu, uma vez passado o vento que o deixa limpo.
22 Out of the north, a golden light cometh, Upon GOD, is fearful splendour:
22 Do norte vem o áureo esplendor, pois Deus está cercado de tremenda majestade.
23 The Almighty, whom we have not fully found out, is great in vigour,Neither, justice nor abounding righteousness, will he weaken.
23 Ao Todo-Poderoso, não o podemos alcançar; ele é grande em poder, porém não perverte o juízo e a plenitude da justiça.
24 Therefore, do men revere him, He will not regard any who are wise in heart.
24 Por isso, os homens o temem; ele não olha para os que se julgam sábios.
