¹ Who so dwelleth in the secrete of the most High, shall abide in the shadowe of the Almightie.

¹ Tu que habitas sob a proteção do Altíssimo, que moras à sombra do Onipotente,

² I will say vnto the Lord, O mine hope, and my fortresse: he is my God, in him will I trust.

² dize ao Senhor: Sois meu refúgio e minha cidadela, meu Deus, em que eu confio.

³ Surely he will deliuer thee from the snare of the hunter, and from the noysome pestilence.

³ É ele quem te livrará do laço do caçador, e da peste perniciosa.

⁴ Hee will couer thee vnder his winges, and thou shalt be sure vnder his feathers: his trueth shall be thy shielde and buckler.

⁴ Ele te cobrirá com suas plumas, sob suas asas encontrarás refúgio. Sua fidelidade te será um escudo de proteção.

⁵ Thou shalt not be afraide of the feare of the night, nor of the arrowe that flyeth by day:

⁵ Tu não temerás os terrores noturnos, nem a flecha que voa à luz do dia,

⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walketh in the darkenesse: nor of the plague that destroyeth at noone day.

⁶ nem a peste que se propaga nas trevas, nem o mal que grassa ao meio-dia.

⁷ A thousand shall fall at thy side, and tenne thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come neere thee.

⁷ Caiam mil homens à tua esquerda e dez mil à tua direita, tu não serás atingido.

⁸ Doubtlesse with thine eyes shalt thou beholde and see the reward of the wicked.

⁸ Porém verás com teus próprios olhos, contemplarás o castigo dos pecadores,

⁹ For thou hast said, The Lord is mine hope: thou hast set the most High for thy refuge.

⁹ porque o Senhor é teu refúgio. Escolheste, por asilo, o Altíssimo.

¹⁰ There shall none euill come vnto thee, neither shall any plague come neere thy tabernacle.

¹⁰ Nenhum mal te atingirá, nenhum flagelo chegará à tua tenda,

¹¹ For hee shall giue his Angels charge ouer thee to keepe thee in all thy wayes.

¹¹ porque aos seus anjos ele mandou que te guardem em todos os teus caminhos.

¹² They shall beare thee in their handes, that thou hurt not thy foote against a stone.

¹² Eles te sustentarão em suas mãos, para que não tropeces em alguma pedra.

¹³ Thou shalt walke vpon the lyon and aspe: the yong lyon and the dragon shalt thou treade vnder feete.

¹³ Sobre serpente e víbora andarás, calcarás aos pés o leão e o dragão.

¹⁴ Because he hath loued me, therefore will I deliuer him: I will exalt him because hee hath knowen my Name.

¹⁴ Pois que se uniu a mim, eu o livrarei; e o protegerei, pois conhece o meu nome.

¹⁵ He shall call vpon me, and I wil heare him: I will be with him in trouble: I will deliuer him, and glorifie him.

¹⁵ Quando me invocar, eu o atenderei; na tribulação estarei com ele. Hei de livrá-lo e o cobrirei de glória.

¹⁶ With long life wil I satisfie him, and shew him my saluation.

¹⁶ Será favorecido de longos dias, e mostrar-lhe-ei a minha salvação.
