¹ Who so dwelleth in the secrete of the most High, shall abide in the shadowe of the Almightie.

¹ Aquele que habita no abrigo do Altíssimo encontrará descanso à sombra do Todo-poderoso.

² I will say vnto the Lord, O mine hope, and my fortresse: he is my God, in him will I trust.

² Isto eu declaro a respeito do S enhor : ele é meu refúgio, meu lugar seguro, ele é meu Deus e nele confio.

³ Surely he will deliuer thee from the snare of the hunter, and from the noysome pestilence.

³ Pois ele o livrará das armadilhas da vida e o protegerá de doenças mortais.

⁴ Hee will couer thee vnder his winges, and thou shalt be sure vnder his feathers: his trueth shall be thy shielde and buckler.

⁴ Ele o cobrirá com as suas penas e o abrigará sob as suas asas; a sua fidelidade é armadura e proteção.

⁵ Thou shalt not be afraide of the feare of the night, nor of the arrowe that flyeth by day:

⁵ Não tenha medo dos terrores da noite, nem da flecha que voa durante o dia.

⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walketh in the darkenesse: nor of the plague that destroyeth at noone day.

⁶ Não tema a praga que se aproxima na escuridão, nem a calamidade que devasta ao meio-dia.

⁷ A thousand shall fall at thy side, and tenne thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come neere thee.

⁷ Ainda que mil caiam ao seu lado e dez mil morram ao seu redor, você não será atingido.

⁸ Doubtlesse with thine eyes shalt thou beholde and see the reward of the wicked.

⁸ Basta abrir os olhos, e verá como são castigados os perversos.

⁹ For thou hast said, The Lord is mine hope: thou hast set the most High for thy refuge.

¹⁰ There shall none euill come vnto thee, neither shall any plague come neere thy tabernacle.

¹⁰ nenhum mal o atingirá, nenhuma praga se aproximará de sua casa.

¹¹ For hee shall giue his Angels charge ouer thee to keepe thee in all thy wayes.

¹¹ Pois ele ordenará a seus anjos que o protejam aonde quer que você vá.

¹² They shall beare thee in their handes, that thou hurt not thy foote against a stone.

¹² Eles o sustentarão com as mãos, para que não machuque o pé em alguma pedra.

¹³ Thou shalt walke vpon the lyon and aspe: the yong lyon and the dragon shalt thou treade vnder feete.

¹³ Você pisará leões e cobras, esmagará leões ferozes e serpentes debaixo dos pés.

¹⁴ Because he hath loued me, therefore will I deliuer him: I will exalt him because hee hath knowen my Name.

¹⁴ O S enhor diz: “Livrarei aquele que me ama, protegerei o que confia em meu nome.

¹⁵ He shall call vpon me, and I wil heare him: I will be with him in trouble: I will deliuer him, and glorifie him.

¹⁵ Quando clamar por mim, eu responderei e estarei com ele em meio às dificuldades; eu o resgatarei e lhe darei honra.

¹⁶ With long life wil I satisfie him, and shew him my saluation.

¹⁶ Com vida longa o recompensarei e lhe darei minha salvação”.
