¹ Who so dwelleth in the secrete of the most High, shall abide in the shadowe of the Almightie.

¹ Aquele que habita no esconderijo do Altíssimo, à sombra do Todo-Poderoso descansará.

² I will say vnto the Lord, O mine hope, and my fortresse: he is my God, in him will I trust.

² Direi do Senhor: Ele é o meu refúgio e a minha fortaleza, o meu Deus, em quem confio.

³ Surely he will deliuer thee from the snare of the hunter, and from the noysome pestilence.

³ Porque ele te livra do laço do passarinho, e da peste perniciosa.

⁴ Hee will couer thee vnder his winges, and thou shalt be sure vnder his feathers: his trueth shall be thy shielde and buckler.

⁴ Ele te cobre com as suas penas, e debaixo das suas asas encontras refúgio; a sua verdade é escudo e broquel.

⁵ Thou shalt not be afraide of the feare of the night, nor of the arrowe that flyeth by day:

⁵ Não temerás os terrores da noite, nem a seta que voe de dia,

⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walketh in the darkenesse: nor of the plague that destroyeth at noone day.

⁶ nem peste que anda na escuridão, nem mortandade que assole ao meio-dia.

⁷ A thousand shall fall at thy side, and tenne thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come neere thee.

⁷ Mil poderão cair ao teu lado, e dez mil à tua direita; mas tu não serás atingido.

⁸ Doubtlesse with thine eyes shalt thou beholde and see the reward of the wicked.

⁸ Somente com os teus olhos contemplarás, e verás a recompensa dos ímpios.

⁹ For thou hast said, The Lord is mine hope: thou hast set the most High for thy refuge.

⁹ Porquanto fizeste do Senhor o teu refúgio, e do Altíssimo a tua habitação,

¹⁰ There shall none euill come vnto thee, neither shall any plague come neere thy tabernacle.

¹⁰ nenhum mal te sucederá, nem praga alguma chegará à tua tenda.

¹¹ For hee shall giue his Angels charge ouer thee to keepe thee in all thy wayes.

¹¹ Porque aos seus anjos dará ordem a teu respeito, para te guardarem em todos os teus caminhos.

¹² They shall beare thee in their handes, that thou hurt not thy foote against a stone.

¹² Eles te susterão nas suas mãos, para que não tropeces em alguma pedra.

¹³ Thou shalt walke vpon the lyon and aspe: the yong lyon and the dragon shalt thou treade vnder feete.

¹³ Pisarás o leão e a áspide; calcarás aos pés o filho do leão e a serpente.

¹⁴ Because he hath loued me, therefore will I deliuer him: I will exalt him because hee hath knowen my Name.

¹⁴ Pois que tanto me amou, eu o livrarei; pô-lo-ei num alto retiro, porque ele conhece o meu nome.

¹⁵ He shall call vpon me, and I wil heare him: I will be with him in trouble: I will deliuer him, and glorifie him.

¹⁵ Quando ele me invocar, eu lhe responderei; estarei com ele na angústia, livrá-lo-ei, e o honrarei.

¹⁶ With long life wil I satisfie him, and shew him my saluation.

¹⁶ Com longura de dias fartá-lo-ei, e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação.
