¹ Who so dwelleth in the secrete of the most High, shall abide in the shadowe of the Almightie.

¹ Aquele que habita no esconderijo do Altíssimo, à sombra do Onipotente descansará.

² I will say vnto the Lord, O mine hope, and my fortresse: he is my God, in him will I trust.

² Direi do Senhor : Ele é o meu Deus, o meu refúgio, a minha fortaleza, e nele confiarei.

³ Surely he will deliuer thee from the snare of the hunter, and from the noysome pestilence.

³ Porque ele te livrará do laço do passarinheiro e da peste perniciosa.

⁴ Hee will couer thee vnder his winges, and thou shalt be sure vnder his feathers: his trueth shall be thy shielde and buckler.

⁴ Ele te cobrirá com as suas penas, e debaixo das suas asas estarás seguro; a sua verdade é escudo e broquel.

⁵ Thou shalt not be afraide of the feare of the night, nor of the arrowe that flyeth by day:

⁵ Não temerás espanto noturno, nem seta que voe de dia,

⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walketh in the darkenesse: nor of the plague that destroyeth at noone day.

⁶ nem peste que ande na escuridão, nem mortandade que assole ao meio-dia.

⁷ A thousand shall fall at thy side, and tenne thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come neere thee.

⁷ Mil cairão ao teu lado, e dez mil, à tua direita, mas tu não serás atingido.

⁸ Doubtlesse with thine eyes shalt thou beholde and see the reward of the wicked.

⁸ Somente com os teus olhos olharás e verás a recompensa dos ímpios.

⁹ For thou hast said, The Lord is mine hope: thou hast set the most High for thy refuge.

⁹ Porque tu, ó Senhor , és o meu refúgio! O Altíssimo é a tua habitação.

¹⁰ There shall none euill come vnto thee, neither shall any plague come neere thy tabernacle.

¹⁰ Nenhum mal te sucederá, nem praga alguma chegará à tua tenda.

¹¹ For hee shall giue his Angels charge ouer thee to keepe thee in all thy wayes.

¹¹ Porque aos seus anjos dará ordem a teu respeito, para te guardarem em todos os teus caminhos.

¹² They shall beare thee in their handes, that thou hurt not thy foote against a stone.

¹² Eles te sustentarão nas suas mãos, para que não tropeces com o teu pé em pedra.

¹³ Thou shalt walke vpon the lyon and aspe: the yong lyon and the dragon shalt thou treade vnder feete.

¹³ Pisarás o leão e a áspide; calcarás aos pés o filho do leão e a serpente.

¹⁴ Because he hath loued me, therefore will I deliuer him: I will exalt him because hee hath knowen my Name.

¹⁴ Pois que tão encarecidamente me amou, também eu o livrarei; pô-lo-ei num alto retiro, porque conheceu o meu nome.

¹⁵ He shall call vpon me, and I wil heare him: I will be with him in trouble: I will deliuer him, and glorifie him.

¹⁵ Ele me invocará, e eu lhe responderei; estarei com ele na angústia; livrá-lo-ei e o glorificarei.

¹⁶ With long life wil I satisfie him, and shew him my saluation.

¹⁶ Dar-lhe-ei abundância de dias e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação.
