1 Bless Jehovah, O my soul. O Jehovah my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty,
1 Bendiga, minha alma, o Senhor ! como tu és grandioso! Estás revestido de glória e majestade,
2 who covers Yourself with light as with a garment, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
2 coberto de luz como de um manto. Tu estendes o céu como uma cortina,
3 who lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, who makes the clouds His chariot, who walks on the wings of the wind,
3 pões nas águas o vigamento da tua morada, tomas as nuvens por carruagem e voas nas asas do vento.
4 who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flaming fire.
4 Fazes a teus anjos ventos e a teus ministros, labaredas de fogo.
5 You laid the foundations of the earth, so that it should not be shaken forever.
5 Lançaste os fundamentos da terra, para que ela não se abale em tempo nenhum.
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
6 Tomaste o abismo por vestuário e a cobriste; as águas ficaram acima das montanhas.
7 At Your rebuke they fled; at the voice of Your thunder they hurried away.
7 Com a tua repreensão, as águas fugiram, com a voz do teu trovão, bateram em retirada.
8 They went up over the mountains; they went down into the valleys, to the place which You have founded for them.
8 Elevaram-se os montes, desceram os vales, até o lugar que lhes havias preparado.
9 You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, that they may not return to cover the earth.
9 Puseste às águas divisa que não ultrapassarão, para que não voltem a cobrir a terra.
10 He sends the springs into the valleys, they flow among the hills.
10 Tu fazes rebentar fontes no vale, cujas águas correm entre os montes;
11 They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst.
11 dão de beber a todos os animais do campo; os jumentos selvagens matam a sua sede.
12 Over them the birds of the heavens have their dwelling; they utter their voices among the branches.
12 Junto delas as aves do céu têm o seu pouso e, por entre a ramagem, elas se põem a cantar.
13 He waters the hills from His upper chambers; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
13 Do alto de tua morada, regas os montes; a terra farta-se do fruto de tuas obras.
14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man, that he may bring forth food out of the earth,
14 Fazes crescer a relva para os animais e as plantas que o ser humano cultiva, para que da terra tire o seu alimento:
15 and wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens mans heart.
15 o vinho, que alegra o coração, o azeite, que lhe dá brilho ao rosto, e o pão, que lhe sustém as forças.
16 The trees of Jehovah are full, the cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
16 São saciadas as árvores do e os cedros do Líbano que ele plantou,
17 where the birds make their nests; the fir trees, where the stork has her house.
17 em que as aves fazem os seus ninhos; quanto à cegonha, a sua casa é nos ciprestes.
18 The high hills are for the wild goats; the cliffs are a refuge for the hyrax.
18 Os altos montes são das cabras-monteses, e as rochas, o refúgio dos arganazes.
19 He appointed the moon for seasons; the sun knows its setting.
19 Fez a lua para marcar o tempo; o sol conhece a hora de se pôr.
20 You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the beasts of the forest creep about.
20 Envias as trevas e vem a noite, na qual vagueiam os animais da selva.
21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from the Mighty God.
21 Os leõezinhos rugem pela presa e buscam de Deus o sustento;
22 When the sun rises, they gather together and lie down in their dens.
22 em vindo o sol, eles se recolhem e se acomodam nos seus covis.
23 Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening.
23 Então as pessoas saem para o seu trabalho e para o seu serviço até a tarde.
24 O Jehovah, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions;
24 Que variedade, Senhor , nas tuas obras! Fizeste todas elas com sabedoria; a terra está cheia das tuas riquezas.
25 this great and wide sea, in which are innumerable creeping things, living things both small and great.
25 Eis o mar vasto, imenso, no qual se movem seres sem conta, animais pequenos e grandes.
26 There the ships go; there is that leviathan which You have fashioned to play in it.
26 Por ele transitam os navios e o Leviatã que formaste para nele brincar.
27 These all wait upon You, that You may give them their food in due season.
27 Todos esperam de ti que lhes dês de comer a seu tempo.
28 What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good.
28 Se lhes dás, eles o recolhem; se abres a mão, eles se fartam de bens.
29 You hide Your face, they are dismayed; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
29 Se escondes o rosto, eles se perturbam; se lhes cortas a respiração, morrem e voltam ao pó.
30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth.
30 Envias o teu Espírito, eles são criados, e assim renovas a face da terra.
31 The glory of Jehovah is eternal; Jehovah shall rejoice in His works.
31 Que a glória do Senhor dure para sempre! Exulte o
32 He looks upon the earth, and it trembles; He touches the hills, and they smoke.
32 Com só olhar para a terra, ele a faz tremer; toca as montanhas, e elas fumegam.
33 I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live; I will make music unto my God while I have my being.
33 Cantarei ao Senhor enquanto eu viver; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus durante a minha vida.
34 My meditation of Him shall be pleasant; I will be glad in Jehovah.
34 Seja-lhe agradável a minha meditação; eu me alegrarei no
35 Let sinners be consumed from off the earth, and the wicked be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul! Praise YAH!
35 Desapareçam da terra os pecadores, e que os perversos deixem de existir. Bendiga, minha alma, o Aleluia!
