VC Versão Católica
1 And Jesus answering, spake to them again in parables, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a king,
2 who made a marriage-feast for his son.
2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were invited, to the marriage; but they would not come.
3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.
4 Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them who were invited, behold I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage.
4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.
5 But they slighting it, went one to his farm, another to his merchandise.
5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.
6 And the rest laying hold on his servants, treated them shamefully and slew them.
6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.
7 And the king hearing it was wroth, and sending forth his troops, destroyed those murderers and burnt their city.
7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The marriage-feast is prepared, but they who were invited were not worthy.
8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and invite whomsoever ye find to the wedding-banquet.
9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
10 So those servants going out into the highways, gathered together all whomsoever they found, both bad and good. And the feast was abundantly supplied with guests.
10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.
11 But the king coming in to see the guests, saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment,
11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
12 And saith to him, Friend, how camest thou in hither, not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless.
12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into the outer darkness: there shall be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few chosen.
14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
15 Then went the Pharisees and consulted, how to insnare him in his talk.

16 And they sent to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth; neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;
17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute to Cesar, or not?
17 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
18 But Jesus knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute-mony. And they brought to him a penny.
19 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius.
20 He saith to them, Whose is this image and superscription?
20 And he says to them, Whose {is} this image and superscription?
21 They say to him, Cesar's. Then said he to them, Render therefore to Cesar the things that are Cesar's, and to God the things that are God's.
21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God.
22 And hearing it they marvelled. And they left him and went away.
22 And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.
23 The same day came the Saducees, who say there is no resurrection, and they asked him,
23 — ausente —
24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed to his brother.
24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren, and the first, having married a wife died, and having no issue, left his wife to his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. Last of all the woman died also.
26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.
27 Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be of the seven?
27 And last of all the woman also died.
28 For they all had her. Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?
29 For in the resurrection,
29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
30 they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.
31 But touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac,
32 and the God of Jacob.
33 God is not a God of the dead, but of the living. And the multitude hearing it, were astonished at his doctrine.
34 But the Pharisees having heard, that he had silenced the Saducees, were gathered together.
35 And one of them, a scribe, asked him a question,
36 trying him and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
36 Mestre, qual é o maior mandamento da lei?
37 Jesus said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
38 Este é o maior e o primeiro mandamento.
39 On these two commandments
40 hang all the law and the prophets.
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ?
41 Como os fariseus se agrupassem, Jesus interrogou-os:
42 Whose son is he? They say to him, David's.
42 Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!
43 He saith to them, How doth David then by the Spirit call him Lord?
43 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:
44 Saying, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my righthand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 And no man was able to answer him a word; neither durst any from that day question him any more.
