Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs NTLH
1 Shout ye for joy, unto God our strength, Sound the note of triumph, to the God of Jacob;
1 Cantem com alegria a Deus, o nosso defensor; cantem louvores ao Deus de Jacó.
2 Raise a melody, and strike the timbrel, The lyre so sweet, with the harp:
2 Comecem a música e toquem os tamboris; toquem músicas alegres nas e nas
3 Blow, at the new moon, the horn, At the full moon, for the day of our sacred festival:
3 Toquem a trombeta para a festa quando chegar a lua nova e quando for lua cheia.
4 For, a statute to Israel, it is, A regulation, by the God of Jacob;
4 Isso é lei para Israel, é uma ordem do Deus de Jacó.
5 A testimony in Joseph, he appointed it, When he went forth over the land of Egypt: A language I liked not, used I to hear;
5 Quando Deus marchou contra a terra do Egito, ele deu essa lei ao povo de Israel. Ouvi uma voz, que eu não conhecia, dizendo:
6 I took away, from the burden, his shoulder, his hands, from the clay, were set free.
6 “Eu tirei das costas de vocês as cargas pesadas, fiz com que vocês ficassem livres de carregar os cestos cheios de tijolos.
7 In distress, thou didst cry, and I delivered thee,I answered thee, within a hiding-place of thunder, I proved thee by the waters of Meribah. Selah.
7 Quando estavam aflitos, vocês me chamaram, e eu os salvei. Lá de onde eu estava escondido, na tempestade, eu lhes respondi. Eu os pus à prova na fonte de Meribá.
8 Hear, O my people, and I will adjure thee, O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me!
8 Meu povo, escute os meus conselhos! Ó Israel, como eu gostaria que você me ouvisse!
9 There shall not be, within thee, a foreign GOD,Neither shalt thou bow down to a strange GOD:
9 Nunca mais sirvam nenhum deus estrangeiro, nem adorem nenhum deus estranho.
10 I, Yahweh, am thy God, Who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt,Open wide thy mouth, that I may fill it.
10 Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês, sou aquele que os tirou da terra do Egito. Abram a boca, e eu os alimentarei.
11 But my people, hearkened not, unto my voice, Even, Israel, inclined not unto me.
11 “Mas o meu povo não quis me ouvir; Israel não me obedeceu.
12 So then I let them go on in the stubbornness of their own heart, They might walk in their own counsels!
12 Portanto, eu deixei que eles andassem nos seus caminhos de teimosia e que fizessem o que queriam.
13 If, my people, were hearkening unto me, Israel, in my ways, would walk,
13 Como gostaria que o meu povo me ouvisse, que o povo de Israel me obedecesse!
14 Right soon, their foes, would I subdue, And, against their adversaries, would I turn my hand:
14 Eu derrotaria logo os seus inimigos e castigaria todos os seus adversários.
15 The haters of Yahweh, should come cringing unto him, Then let their own good time be age-abiding!
15 Aqueles que me odeiam se curvariam diante de mim, e o castigo deles duraria para sempre.
16 Then would he feed them from the marrow of the wheat, Yea, out of the rockwith honey, would I satisfy thee.
16 Mas a vocês eu daria o melhor trigo e os alimentaria com mel do campo, até que ficassem satisfeitos.”
