1 So these three men ceased to respond to Job, because, he, was righteous in their eyes.
1 Aqueles três homens pararam de responder a Jó, porque ele se considerava justo.
2 Then was kindled the anger of Elihu, son of Barachel the Buzite of the family of Ram,against Job, was kindled his anger, because he justified his own soul rather than God;
2 Então se acendeu a ira de Eliú, filho de Baraquel, o buzita, da família de Rão. Ele ficou indignado contra Jó, porque este pretendia ser mais justo do que Deus.
3 and, against his three friends, was kindled his anger,because that they found not a response, and condemned God.
3 Eliú também ficou irado com os três amigos de Jó, porque, mesmo não tendo o que responder, eles o condenavam.
4 But, Elihu, had waited for Job with words, because the others were older than he.
4 Eliú, porém, havia esperado para falar a Jó, pois os outros eram mais velhos do que ele.
5 Howbeit, when Elihu saw that there was no response in the mouth of the three men, then was kindled his anger.
5 Quando Eliú viu que aqueles três homens já não tinham o que responder, ficou irado. Caps.
6 So then Elihu, son of Barachel, the Buzite, responded and said:Young, am I, whereas, ye, are aged, For this cause, I faltered, and fearedto shew my knowledge unto you:
6 Então Eliú, filho de Baraquel, o buzita, tomou a palavra e disse: “Eu sou de menos idade, e vocês são idosos. Por isso, tive receio e fiquei com medo de dar a minha opinião.
7 I said, Days, should speak,and, the multitude of years, should make known wisdom.
7 Pensei assim: ‘Que falem os que têm mais idade, e que a multidão dos anos ensine a sabedoria.’
8 Yet surely, there is a spirit in men, and, the inspiration of the Almighty, giveth them understanding;
8 Na verdade, há um espírito no homem, e o sopro do Todo-Poderoso lhe dá entendimento.
9 Great men, may not be wise, nor, elders, understand justice.
9 Os de mais idade não são os sábios, nem são os velhos os que entendem o que é reto.
10 Therefore, I said, Hearken unto me, I will show my knowledgeeven I.
10 Por isso digo: Escutem o que vou dizer, e também eu darei a minha opinião.”
11 Lo! I waited for your words, I kept giving ear for your reasons, until ye should search out what to say;
11 “Eis que esperei que vocês falassem e dei ouvidos às suas considerações, enquanto, quem sabe, buscavam o que dizer.
12 Yea, unto you, gave I diligent heed,But lo! there was, for Job, nothing to convince, nor could you of you answer his speeches.
12 Dei atenção ao que diziam, mas nenhum de vocês conseguiu refutar Jó, nem responder aos seus argumentos.
13 Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom. GOD, must put him to flight, not man.
13 Portanto, não me venham com a seguinte desculpa: ‘Descobrimos a sabedoria! Deus pode vencê-lo, e não o homem.’
14 Since he directed not to me discourse, therefore, with your speeches, will I not reply to him.
14 Ora, ele não me dirigiu palavra alguma, e eu não lhe responderei com as palavras que vocês usaram.”
15 They were dismayed, they responded no more, they suffered speech to forsake them;
15 “Jó, os três estão pasmados, já não respondem, faltam-lhes as palavras.
16 Though I waited, yet could they not speak, Surely they came to a stand, they responded no more.
16 Será que devo esperar, pois não falam, estão parados e nada mais respondem?
17 I will respond, even Ion my part, I will shew my knowledge, even I!
17 Também eu de minha parte vou responder e darei a minha opinião.
18 For I am full of discourse, The spirit in my bosom, presseth me on.
18 Porque tenho muito que falar, e o meu espírito me constrange.
19 Lo! my bosom, is like wine not opened, Like new wine-skins, it will burst.
19 Eis que dentro de mim sou como o vinho, sem respiradouro, como odres novos, prestes a arrebentar.
20 I will speak, that I may freely breathe, I will open my lips and respond.
20 Permitam, pois, que eu fale para poder desabafar; abrirei os lábios e responderei.
21 Let me be partial to no man, and, unto no son of earth, give flattering titles,
21 Não tratarei nenhum de vocês com parcialidade e não vou lisonjear ninguém.
22 Surely I know not how to give flattering titles, How soon might my Maker take me away!
22 Porque não sei lisonjear; se assim fizesse, em breve me levaria o meu Criador.”
