1 Then responded Bildad the Shuhite, and said:
1 Então, respondeu Bildade, o suíta, e disse:
2 How long will ye make a perversion of words? Ye should understand, and, afterwards, we could speak.
2 Até quando usareis artifícios em vez de palavras? Considerai bem, e, então, falaremos.
3 Wherefore are we accounted like beasts? or appear stupid, in thine eyes?
3 Por que somos tratados como animais, e como imundos aos vossos olhos?
4 One tearing in pieces his own soul in his anger,For thy sake, shall the earth be forsaken? or the rock be moved out of its place?
4 Ó tu, que despedaças a tua alma na tua ira, será a terra deixada por tua causa? Remover-se-ão as rochas do seu lugar?
5 Even the light of the lawless, shall go out,Neither shall shine the flame of his fire;
5 Na verdade, a luz dos ímpios se apagará, e a faísca do seu lar não resplandecerá.
6 The light, hath darkened in his tent, Yea, his lamp above him, goeth out;
6 A luz se escurecerá nas suas tendas, e sua lâmpada sobre ele se apagará.
7 The steppings of his strength are hemmed in, and his own counsel casteth him down;
7 Os seus passos firmes se estreitarão, e o seu próprio conselho o derribará.
8 For he is thrust into a net by his own feet, and, upon a trap, he marcheth;
8 Porque por seus próprios pés é lançado na rede e andará nos fios enredados.
9 There catcheth himby the heela gin, there holdeth him fasta noose:
9 O laço o apanhará pelo calcanhar, e prevalecerá contra ele o salteador.
10 Concealed in the ground is a cord for him,and a snare for him, on the path.
10 Está escondida debaixo da terra uma corda; e uma armadilha, na vereda.
11 Round about, terrors have startled him, and have driven him to his feet.
11 Os assombros o espantarão em redor e o farão correr de uma parte para a outra, por onde quer que apresse os passos.
12 Let his strength be famished, and, calamity, be ready at his side;
12 O seu poder será faminto, e a destruição está pronta ao seu lado.
13 Let it devour the members of his body, Let the firstborn of death devour his members;
13 Ela devorará os membros do seu corpo; sim, o primogênito da morte devorará os seus membros.
14 Uprooted, out of his tent, be his confidence, and let it drive him down to the king of terrors;
14 Será arrancado da sua tenda, onde estava confiado, e será levado ao rei dos terrores.
15 There shall dwell in his tent, what is naught-of-his, Let brimstone be strewed over his dwelling;
15 Morará na sua tenda aquele que nada lhe era; espalhar-se-á enxofre sobre a sua habitação.
16 Beneath, let his roots be dried up, and, above, be cut off his branch;
16 Por baixo, se secarão as suas raízes, e, por cima, serão cortados os seus ramos.
17 His memorial, have perished out of the land, and let him have no name over the face of the open field;
17 A sua memória perecerá na terra, e pelas praças não terá nome.
18 Let them thrust him out of light into darkness, Yea, out of the world, let them chase him;
18 Da luz o lançarão nas trevas e afugentá-lo-ão do mundo.
19 Let him have neither scion nor seed among his people, neither any survivor in his place of sojourn:
19 Não terá filho nem neto entre o seu povo, e resto nenhum dele ficará nas suas moradas.
20 Over his day, have they been astounded who come behind, and, them who are in advance, a shudder hath seized.
20 Do seu dia se espantarão os vindouros, e os antigos serão sobressaltados de horror.
21 Surely, these, are the dwellings of him that is perverse, and, this, is the place of him that knoweth not GOD.
21 Tais são, na verdade, as moradas do perverso, e este é o lugar do que não conhece a Deus.
