1 One day when he was teaching the people in the temple, and preaching the good news he saw the chief priests, scribes and elders.
1 E aconteceu que, em um daqueles dias, enquanto ele ensinava o povo no templo, e pregava o evangelho, os principais sacerdotes e os escribas vieram a ele com os anciãos,
2 They said to him: »Tell us by what authority do you do these things? Who gave you this authority?«
2 e falaram-lhe, dizendo: Dize-nos, com que autoridade fazes tu essas coisas? Ou quem é que te deu tal autoridade?
3 Jesus responded: »I also will ask you a question. Tell me,
3 E, respondendo ele, disse-lhes: Eu também vos perguntarei uma coisa, respondam-me:
4 »The baptism of John was it from heaven or from men?«
4 O batismo de João, era do céu ou dos homens?
5 They reasoned among themselves, »If we say from heaven; he will say why did you not believe him?
5 E eles arrazoavam entre si, dizendo: Se nós dissermos: Do céu, ele nos dirá: Por que então não crestes?
6 »If we say from men all the people will stone us. They are persuaded that John was a prophet.«
6 Mas, e se nós dissermos: Dos homens, todo o povo nos apedrejará, porque eles estão convencidos que João era um profeta.
7 So they answered: »We do not know.«
7 E eles responderam que não podiam dizer de onde era.
8 Jesus said: »Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.«
8 E Jesus lhes disse: Tampouco eu vos direi com que autoridade faço estas coisas.
9 He told the people an illustration: »A man planted a vineyard. He rented it to tenants and went to another country for a long time.
9 Então, ele começou a falar ao povo esta parábola: Certo homem plantou uma vinha, e arrendou-a a uns lavradores, e foi para uma terra distante por muito tempo.
10 »At harvest time he sent a servant to the renters to collect fruit of the vineyard. The renters beat him, and sent him away empty.
10 E, no devido tempo, enviou um servo aos lavradores, para que lhe dessem dos frutos da vinha; mas os lavradores, espancando-o, mandaram-no embora vazio.
11 »He sent another servant who was also treated shamefully, beaten and sent away empty.
11 E novamente ele enviou outro servo; e eles também o espancaram, e o insultaram e o mandaram embora vazio.
12 »A third servant was sent. They wounded him and threw him out.
12 E ele enviou novamente um terceiro; e eles também feriram a este, e o expulsaram.
13 »The owner of the vineyard said, what should I do? I will send my beloved son. Maybe they will respect him.
13 Então, disse o senhor da vinha: O que eu farei? Enviarei o meu filho amado; talvez, vendo-o, o respeitem.
14 »When the renters saw him they reasoned that this is the heir, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
14 Mas, vendo-o os lavradores, eles arrazoaram entre si dizendo: Este é o herdeiro; vinde, matemo-lo, para que a herança seja nossa.
15 »They threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What will the owner of the vineyard do to them?
15 Assim, eles lançaram-no fora da vinha, e o mataram. O que lhes fará, pois, o senhor da vinha?
16 He will come and destroy the renters and will give the vineyard to others. When they heard it, they said, God forbid!
16 Ele virá e destruirá esses lavradores, e dará a vinha a outros. E, ouvindo eles isso, disseram: Deus o proíba!
17 »He looked at them and asked what does the scripture mean: The stone that the builders rejected the same was made the head of the corner?
17 E ele observando-os, disse: Então, o que é isto que está escrito: A pedra que os edificadores rejeitaram, essa se tornou a cabeça de esquina?
18 »Every one that falls on that stone shall be broken to pieces. Every one the stone falls on will be scattered as dust.«
18 Qualquer que cair sobre aquela pedra será despedaçado, mas naquele em que ela cair, ela triturará ao pó.
19 The scribes and the chief priests attempted to capture him in that very hour. They feared the people. They perceived that he spoke this illustration against them.
19 E os principais sacerdotes e os escribas procuraram lançar mão dele naquela mesma hora, mas eles temiam o povo; pois perceberam que ele tinha falado a parábola contra eles.
20 They watched him and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous. The spies listened for something in his speech to deliver him up to the authority of the governor.
20 E, eles vigiando-o, enviaram espiões, os quais se fingiam de homens justos, para o apanharem em alguma palavra, e o entregarem ao poder e à autoridade do governador.
21 »Teacher,« they said, »we know that you are right in what you say and teach. You are not partial and do not play favorites. Rather you teach the way of God truthfully.«
21 E eles perguntaram-lhe, dizendo: Mestre, nós sabemos que tu falas e ensinas retamente, e que não fazes acepção de pessoas, mas ensinas o caminho de Deus verdadeiramente;
22 »Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?«
22 é lícito dar tributo a César ou não?
23 He perceived their craftiness, and replied:
23 Mas, ele percebendo a sua astúcia, disse-lhes: Por que vós me tentais?
24 »Show me a denarius. Whose image and superscription does it have?« They said, »Caesars.«
24 Mostrai-me uma moeda. De quem é a imagem e a inscrição? E, eles respondendo, disseram: De César.
25 He said to them: »Render to Caesar the things that are Caesars, and to God the things that are Gods.«
25 E ele lhes disse: Dai, pois, a César as coisas que são de César, e a Deus as coisas que são de Deus.
26 They were not able to apprehend him in front of the people. They were amazed by his answer and kept quiet.
26 E eles não puderam tomá-lo em suas palavras diante do povo; e eles maravilhados da sua resposta, calaram-se.
27 Some Sadducees came to him. They believe there is no resurrection.
27 Então, chegaram-se a ele alguns dos saduceus, que negam haver ressurreição, e eles perguntaram-lhe,
28 They asked him: »Teacher, Moses wrote if a mans brother dies and he is childless, his brother should take the wife, and raise up seed for his brother.
28 dizendo: Mestre, Moisés nos escreveu que, se morresse o irmão de um homem, tendo esposa, e ele não deixasse filhos, seu irmão tomasse a esposa dele, e levantasse descendência a seu irmão.
29 »There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.
29 Houve, pois, sete irmãos; e o primeiro tomou uma mulher, e morreu sem filhos.
30 »The same for the second.
30 E o segundo a tomou como esposa, e morreu sem filhos.
31 »The third married her. The remaining of the seven also married her, left no children and died.
31 E o terceiro a tomou, e semelhantemente também os sete, e eles não tiveram filhos e morreram.
32 »Afterward the woman also died.
32 E depois de todos, a mulher também morreu.
33 »In the resurrection whose wife shall she be? All seven married her.«
33 Portanto, na ressurreição, de qual deles será a mulher? Pois os sete a tiveram por esposa.
34 Jesus said, »The sons of this age marry, and are given in marriage.
34 E, Jesus respondendo, disse-lhes: Os filhos deste mundo casam-se, e dão-se em casamento;
35 »Those accounted worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage.
35 mas os que são considerados dignos de alcançar o mundo vindouro, e a ressurreição dos mortos, não se casam, nem se dão em casamento;
36 »They cannot die anymore for they are equal to the angels. They are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
36 nem podem mais morrer; porque são iguais aos anjos, e são filhos de Deus, sendo filhos da ressurreição.
37 »Even Moses showed that the dead are raised when he was near the bush and he called Jehovah the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (Exodus 3:6-14)
37 Agora que os mortos hão de ressuscitar, até Moisés o mostrou no arbusto, quando ele chamou ao Senhor Deus de Abraão, e Deus de Isaque, e Deus de Jacó.
38 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: for all live for him.«
38 Porque ele não é Deus de mortos, mas de vivos; porque todos vivem para ele.
39 Some of the scribes answered, »Teacher you have said well.«
39 Então, alguns dos escribas disseram, respondendo-lhe: Mestre, tu dissestes bem.
40 They did not dare to ask any more questions.
40 E depois disso, eles não ousaram perguntar-lhe questão nenhuma.
41 He asked them a question: »How is it that they say the Christ is Davids son?
41 E ele lhes disse: Como eles dizem que Cristo é filho de Davi?
42 »For David said in the book of Psalms: Jehovah said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand.
42 E o próprio Davi disse no livro dos Salmos: O SENHOR disse ao meu Senhor: Assenta-te à minha direita,
43 »Till I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. (Psalm 110:1)
43 até que eu faça dos teus inimigos teu escabelo.
44 »David therefore called him Lord, and how is he his son?«
44 Portanto, se Davi mesmo lhe chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?
45 He spoke to the disciples while all the people listened:
45 Então, ouvindo-o todo o povo, ele disse aos seus discípulos:
46 »Beware of the scribes for they walk around in long robes. They love greetings in the marketplaces. They sit in the chief seats in the synagogues and the head tables at feasts.
46 Cuidado com os escribas, que querem andar com vestes compridas, e amam saudações nos mercados, e os principais assentos nas sinagogas, e os principais lugares nos banquetes;
47 »They devour widows houses. They offer long prayers to show off in front of others. They shall receive great condemnation.«
47 que devoram as casas das viúvas, e, por aparência, fazem longas orações; estes receberão maior condenação.
