1 A Psalme committed to Asaph. Yet God is good to Israel: euen, to the pure in heart.
1 Salmo de Asafe. Verdadeiramente, Deus é bom para Israel, para aqueles que são limpos de coração.
2 As for me, my feete were almost gone: my steps had well neere slipt.
2 Mas quanto a mim, os meus pés quase se foram; os meus passos quase escorregaram.
3 For I feared at the foolish, when I sawe the prosperitie of the wicked.
3 Pois eu tive inveja dos tolos, quando vi a prosperidade dos perversos.
4 For there are no bandes in their death, but they are lustie and strong.
4 Pois não há faixas em sua morte, mas sua força é firme.
5 They are not in trouble as other men, neither are they plagued with other men.
5 Eles não estão em tribulação como os outros homens, nem eles se afligem como os outros homens.
6 Therefore pride is as a chayne vnto them, and crueltie couereth them as a garment.
6 Por isso o orgulho lhes cerca como uma corrente; a violência os cobre como vestimenta.
7 Their eyes stande out for fatnesse: they haue more then heart can wish.
7 Seus olhos destacam-se com gordura, eles têm mais do que o coração poderia desejar.
8 They are licentious, and speake wickedly of their oppression: they talke presumptuously.
8 Eles são corruptos, e falam perversamente no que diz respeito à opressão; eles falam arrogantemente.
9 They set their mouth against heauen, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
9 Eles põem a sua boca contra os céus, e a sua língua caminha pela terra.
10 Therefore his people turne hither: for waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
10 Por isso o seu povo retorna para cá, e águas de um copo cheio são espremidas para eles.
11 And they say, Howe doeth God know it? or is there knowledge in the most High?
11 E eles dizem: Como Deus sabe? E há conhecimento no Altíssimo?
12 Lo, these are the wicked, yet prosper they alway, and increase in riches.
12 Eis que estes são os ímpios, que prosperam no mundo; eles aumentam em riquezas.
13 Certainely I haue clensed mine heart in vaine, and washed mine hands in innocencie.
13 Realmente eu limpei o meu coração em vão, e lavei as minhas mãos na inocência.
14 For dayly haue I bene punished, and chastened euery morning.
14 Pois ao longo do dia tenho sido afligido e castigado toda manhã.
15 If I say, I will iudge thus, beholde the generation of thy children: I haue trespassed.
15 Se eu disser: Eu falarei assim; eis que eu ofenderia contra a geração dos teus filhos.
16 Then thought I to know this, but it was too painefull for me,
16 Quando eu pensei em conhecer isto; foi doloroso demais para mim;
17 Vntill I went into the Sanctuarie of God: then vnderstoode I their ende.
17 Até que eu fui ao santuário de Deus, então eu entendi o seu fim.
18 Surely thou hast set them in slipperie places, and castest them downe into desolation.
18 Certamente tu os puseste em lugares escorregadios; tu os lançaste na destruição.
19 How suddenly are they destroyed, perished and horribly consumed,
19 Como são trazidos para a desolação, como em um momento! Eles são completamente consumidos por terrores.
20 As a dreame when one awaketh! O Lord, when thou raisest vs vp, thou shalt make their image despised.
20 Como em um sonho quando alguém acorda; assim, ó Senhor, quando tu acordares, tu desprezarás a imagem deles.
21 Certainely mine heart was vexed, and I was pricked in my reines:
21 Assim o meu coração ficou entristecido, e eu fui picado em meus rins.
22 So foolish was I and ignorant: I was a beast before thee.
22 Tão tolo eu fui, e ignorante; eu fui como um animal diante de ti.
23 Yet I was alway with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
23 Apesar disso, estou continuamente contigo; tu me seguraste pela minha mão direita.
24 Thou wilt guide me by thy counsell, and afterward receiue me to glory.
24 Tu me guiarás com o teu conselho, e depois me receberás para a glória.
25 Whom haue I in heauen but thee? and I haue desired none in the earth with thee.
25 Quem tenho eu no céu, a não ser a ti? Não há ninguém sobre a terra que eu deseje mais do que a ti.
26 My flesh fayleth and mine heart also: but God is the strength of mine heart, and my portion for euer.
26 A minha carne e o meu coração falham; mas Deus é a força do meu coração, e a minha porção para sempre.
27 For loe, they that withdrawe themselues from thee, shall perish: thou destroyest all them that goe a whoring from thee.
27 Porquanto eis que aqueles que estão longe de ti perecerão; tu destruíste todos aqueles que vão vagueando sem ti.
28 As for me, it is good for me to draw neere to God: therefore I haue put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy workes.
28 Mas é bom para mim aproximar-me de Deus; eu pus a minha confiança no Senhor DEUS; que eu possa declarar todas as tuas obras.
