1 “A psalm of Ethan, the Ezrahite.” I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; With my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations!
1 Ó Senhor Deus, eu sempre cantarei a respeito do teu amor e anunciarei a tua fidelidade a todas as gerações.
2 For I know that thy mercy endureth for ever; Thou hast established thy truth like the heavens.
2 Sei que o teu amor dura para sempre e que a tua fidelidade é tão firme como o céu.
3 “I have made a covenant with my chosen; I have sworn to David, my servant:
3 Tu disseste: “Eu escolhi o meu fiz uma aliança com ele e lhe prometi isto:
4 Thy family I will establish for ever, And build up thy throne to all generations.” [[Pause.]]
4 ‘Um dos seus descendentes sempre reinará; eu farei com que eles sempre sejam reis depois de você.’ ”
5 The heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD! And the assembly of the holy ones thy truth!
5 Ó Senhor , os céus cantam as maravilhas que fazes, e, reunidos, os anjos cantam a tua fidelidade.
6 Who in the heavens can be compared to Jehovah? Who is like Jehovah among the sons of God?
6 Não há no céu ninguém como tu, ó Entre os seres celestiais não há nenhum igual a ti.
7 A God greatly to be feared in the assembly of the holy ones, And to be had in reverence above all who are around him?
7 Tu és respeitado na assembleia deles, és ao teu redor.
8 O Jehovah, God of hosts! Who is mighty like thee, O Jehovah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.
8 Ó Senhor , Deus Todo-Poderoso, não há ninguém que tenha tanto poder como tu! Em todas as coisas, tu és fiel, ó
9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea; When the waves thereof rise, thou stillest them!
9 Tu dominas o Mar poderoso, tu acalmas as suas ondas furiosas.
10 Thou didst break Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; Thou didst scatter thine enemies with thy mighty arm.
10 Esmagaste o monstro Raabe e o mataste; com a tua grande força, derrotaste os teus inimigos.
11 The heavens are thine; thine also is the earth; The world and all that is therein, thou didst found them.
11 O céu é teu, e a terra é tua; tu criaste o mundo e tudo o que nele existe.
12 The North and the South were created by thee; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in thy name.
12 Tu fizeste o Norte e o Sul. Os montes Tabor e Hermom te louvam com alegria.
13 Thine is a mighty arm; Strong is thy hand, and high thy right hand.
13 Como és poderoso! Como é grande a tua força!
14 Justice and equity are the foundation of thy throne; Mercy and truth go before thy face.
14 A honestidade e a justiça são as bases do teu reinado. Tu és fiel e amoroso em tudo o que fazes.
15 Happy the people that know the trumpet's sound! They walk, O LORD! in the light of thy countenance;
15 Feliz o povo que te adora com canções e que vive na luz da tua presença!
16 In thy name they daily rejoice, And in thy righteousness they glory!
16 Por causa de ti, eles se alegram o dia todo e te louvam porque és bondoso.
17 For thou art the glory of their strength; Yea, through thy favor our horn exalteth itself!
17 Tu, ó Deus, és o nosso poder glorioso ; por tua bondade, nos fazes vencer,
18 For from Jehovah is our shield, And from the Holy One of Israel is our king.
18 pois escolhes o nosso protetor. Foste tu, que nos deste o nosso rei.
19 Once thou spakest in a vision to thy holy one, And saidst,—”I have laid help on one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people;
19 Há muito tempo, numa visão, tu disseste aos teus “Eu ajudei um soldado famoso; dei a autoridade a um homem que escolhi do meio do povo.
20 I have found David, my servant; With my holy oil have I anointed him.
20 Escolhi o meu servo Davi para ser rei,
21 With him shall my hand be established, And my arm shall strengthen him.
21 A minha força estará sempre com ele, o meu poder o tornará forte.
22 The enemy shall not have power over him, Nor shall the unrighteous man oppress him.
22 Os seus inimigos nunca o vencerão, os maus não o derrotarão.
23 For I will beat down his foes before him, And overthrow them that hate him.
23 Eu acabarei com os seus inimigos e matarei todos os que o odeiam.
24 My faithfulness and mercy shall be with him, And through my name shall his horn be exalted.
24 Sempre serei fiel a Davi e o amarei, e, por causa do meu poder, ele sempre vencerá.
25 I will extend his hand to the sea, And his right hand to the rivers.
25 Estenderei o seu reinado desde o mar Mediterrâneo até o rio Eufrates.
26 He shall say to me, 'Thou art my father, My God, and the rock of my salvation!'
26 Então ele me dirá: ‘Tu és o meu pai e o meu Deus; tu és a rocha que me salva.’
27 I will also make him my first-born, Highest of the kings of the earth.
27 Eu lhe darei os direitos de filho mais velho, farei com que ele seja o maior de todos os reis do mundo.
28 My mercy I will continue to him for ever; My covenant with him shall be steadfast.
28 Eu sempre o amarei, e a minha aliança com ele ficará firme.
29 I will make his family to endure for ever; And his throne shall be as lasting as the heavens.
29 Depois dele os seus descendentes sempre serão reis e reinarão enquanto o céu existir.
30 Should his children forsake my law, And walk not in my statutes,
30 “Mas, se os seus descendentes desobedecerem à minha se não viverem de acordo com os meus ensinamentos,
31 Should they break my commandments, And observe not my precepts,
31 se desprezarem as minhas ordens e não guardarem os meus mandamentos,
32 I will punish their transgressions with a rod, And their iniquity with stripes.
32 então eu os castigarei pelos seus pecados, eu os farei sofrer por causa dos seus erros.
33 But my kindness will I not withdraw from him, Nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
33 Porém não deixarei de amar a Davi, mas cumprirei a promessa que lhe fiz.
34 I will not break my covenant, Nor alter what hath gone from my lips.
34 Não quebrarei a aliança que fiz com ele, nem deixarei de cumprir nenhuma das minhas promessas.
35 Once have I sworn in my holiness, That I will not be false unto David.
35 “De uma vez por todas, jurei pelo meu santo nome que nunca mentiria a Davi.
36 His family shall endure for ever, And his throne as the sun before me.
36 Ele sempre terá descendentes, e, enquanto o sol brilhar, eu protegerei o seu reinado.
37 It shall be established for ever like the moon; Like the faithful witness in the sky.”
37 Esse reinado durará como a lua, aquela fiel testemunha que está no céu.”
38 But now thou forsakest and abhorrest, And art angry with, thine anointed.
38 Mas agora, ó Deus, tu estás irado com o rei que escolheste; tu o abandonaste e o rejeitaste.
39 Thou hast made void the covenant with thy servant; Thou hast cast his crown to the ground.
39 Quebraste a aliança que fizeste com o teu e jogaste a sua coroa no chão.
40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.
40 Derrubaste as muralhas da sua cidade e arrasaste as suas fortalezas.
41 All who pass by plunder him; He is a reproach to his neighbors.
41 Os que passam roubam tudo o que ele tem, e os seus vizinhos zombam dele.
42 Thou hast lifted up the right hand of his enemies; Thou hast made all his adversaries to rejoice.
42 Deste a vitória aos seus inimigos e fizeste com que eles ficassem felizes.
43 Yea, thou hast turned the edge of his sword, And made him unable to stand in battle.
43 Tu tornaste inúteis as armas do rei e deixaste que ele fosse derrotado na batalha.
44 Thou hast brought his glory to an end, And hast cast down his throne to the ground.
44 Tiraste a sua autoridade de rei e derrubaste o seu trono.
45 Thou hast shortened the days of his youth; Thou hast covered him with shame.
45 Tu fizeste com que ele envelhecesse antes do tempo e o cobriste de humilhação.
46 How long, O LORD! wilt thou hide thyself for ever? How long shall thine anger burn like fire?
46 Até quando te esconderás, ó Será para sempre? Até quando a tua como fogo?
47 Remember how short is my life, To what frailty thou hast created all men!
47 Lembra como é curta a minha vida; lembra que todas as pessoas que criaste vão morrer um dia.
48 What man liveth, and seeth not death? Who can deliver himself from the underworld?
48 Quem pode continuar vivo e nunca morrer? Quem pode escapar da sepultura?
49 Where, Lord, is thy former loving-kindness Which thou didst swear to David in thy truth?
49 Ó Senhor, onde estão as antigas provas do teu amor? Onde estão os juramentos que fizeste a Davi?
50 Remember, O Lord! the reproach of thy servants, How I bear in my bosom the taunts of all the many nations,
50 Lembra que eu, teu servo , estou sendo insultado e suporto todas as ofensas dos pagãos.
51 With which thine enemies have reproached me, O LORD! With which they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed!
51 Ó Senhor , como os teus inimigos falam mal do rei que escolheste! Aonde ele vai, eles o insultam.
52 [Praised be Jehovah for ever! Amen, yea, amen!]
52 Louvemos o Senhor Deus para sempre!
