1 O Jehovah my God, in You I put my trust; deliver me from all those who pursue me, and rescue me,
1 Em ti me refugio, S enhor , meu Deus; salva-me dos que me perseguem e livra-me!
2 lest they tear my soul like a lion, tearing it in pieces, and there is no one to rescue.
2 Do contrário, eles me atacarão como leões e me despedaçarão, sem que ninguém me resgate.
3 O Jehovah my God, if I have done this: if there is iniquity in my hands;
3 Ó S enhor , meu Deus, se fiz o mal, se cometi alguma injustiça,
4 if I have repaid evil to one who was at peace with me, or if I have plundered my enemy without cause;
4 se traí um amigo ou saqueei meu adversário sem razão,
5 let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it; yea, let him trample down my life upon the earth and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.
5 que meus inimigos me persigam e capturem; que me pisoteiem no chão e no pó arrastem minha honra. Interlúdio
6 Arise, O Jehovah, in Your anger; lift up Yourself because of the rage of my enemies, and arouse Yourself for me to the judgment which You have commanded.
6 Levanta-te, S enhor , em tua ira! Ergue-te contra a fúria de meus inimigos! Desperta, meu Deus, e faz justiça!
7 Thus the congregation of the people shall surround You; for their sakes, therefore, return on high.
7 Reúne as nações diante de ti e toma teu lugar de autoridade sobre elas.
8 Jehovah shall judge the people; judge me, O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity within me.
8 O S enhor julga as nações; declara-me justo, ó S pois sou inocente, ó Altíssimo!
9 O let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just. For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.
9 Faz cessar a maldade dos perversos e dá segurança ao justo. Pois tu sondas a mente e o coração, ó Deus justo.
10 My defense is from God, who saves the upright in heart.
10 Deus é meu escudo; ele salva os que têm coração íntegro.
11 God judges the righteous, and the Mighty God is angry with the wicked every day.
11 Deus é justo juiz; todos os dias ele mostra sua ira contra os perversos.
12 If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready.
12 Se eles não se arrependerem, Deus afiará sua espada; armará seu arco para disparar,
13 He has also prepared instruments of death for him; He makes His arrows hotly pursue.
13 preparará suas armas mortais e acenderá suas flechas com fogo.
14 Behold, he writhes in iniquity, and has conceived trouble, and has brought forth falsehood.
14 Sim, o perverso gera o mal; concebe o sofrimento e dá à luz a mentira.
15 He has excavated a cistern and dug it, and has fallen into the pit which he made.
15 Abre uma cova profunda, mas ele próprio cai em sua armadilha.
16 His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violence shall come down upon his own crown.
16 Sua maldade se volta contra ele; sua violência lhe cai sobre a cabeça.
17 I will praise Jehovah according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of Jehovah Most High.
17 Darei graças ao S enhor porque ele é justo; cantarei louvores ao nome do S
