¹ You whose home is the shelter of God Most High, whose abode is the shadow of God Almighty,

¹ Aquele que habita no lugar secreto do Altíssimo, permanecerá debaixo da sombra do Onipotente.

² can say to the Lord, “My refuge, my fortress, my God, in whom I trust,”

² Eu direi do SENHOR: Ele é o meu refúgio e a minha fortaleza, meu Deus; nele eu confiarei.

³ For he saves you from fowler’s snare, from the yawning pit of destruction.

³ Certamente ele te livrará do laço do passarinheiro e da peste perniciosa.

⁴ He shelters you with his pinions, and under his wings you may hide. His truth will be a shield and buckler.

⁴ Ele te cobrirá com as suas penas, e debaixo das suas asas confiarás; sua verdade será o teu escudo e broquel.

⁵ You need not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

⁵ Tu não ficarás com medo pelo terror à noite, nem pela flecha que voa de dia.

⁶ nor the plague that stalks in darkness, nor the pestilence raging at noon.

⁶ Nem pela peste que anda nas trevas, nem pela destruição que devasta ao meio-dia.

⁷ A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand: but it shall not draw near to you.

⁷ Mil cairão ao teu lado, e dez mil à tua direita; mas isso não chegará perto de ti.

⁸ You will only look on with your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.

⁸ Apenas com os teus olhos contemplarás, e verás a recompensa do perverso.

⁹ As for you, the Lord is your refuge, you have made the Most High your defence.

⁹ Porque tu fizeste do SENHOR, que é o meu refúgio, o Altíssimo, a tua habitação.

¹⁰ You will never be met by misfortune, no plague shall come near your tent:

¹⁰ Nenhum mal te sucederá, nem praga nenhuma chegará perto da tua habitação.

¹¹ for he orders his angels to guard you, wherever you go.

¹¹ Pois ele dará aos seus anjos comando sobre ti, para te guardarem em todos os teus caminhos.

¹² They will carry you with their hands, lest you strike your foot on a stone.

¹² Eles te carregarão em suas mãos, para que não tropeces o teu pé contra uma pedra.

¹³ You will tread upon lions and adders, and trample young lions and dragons.

¹³ Tu pisarás sobre o leão e a víbora; esmagarás debaixo dos pés o leãozinho e o dragão.

¹⁴ “Because of their love for me, I will deliver them, I will protect those who trust my name.

¹⁴ Porque ele pôs o seu amor sobre mim, portanto eu o livrarei; eu o colocarei no alto, porque ele conheceu o meu nome.

¹⁵ I will answer their cry and be with them in trouble, bringing them forth into safety and honour.

¹⁵ Ele clamará por mim, e eu o responderei; estarei com ele na tribulação; eu o livrarei e o honrarei.

¹⁶ I will give them a life of many days, I will show them my salvation.”

¹⁶ Com vida longa eu o satisfarei, e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação.
