¹ My heart is astir with beautiful words: I will sing a song, concerning the king, with tongue like the pen of a ready writer.

¹ De boas palavras transborda o meu coração. Ao Rei consagro o que compus; a minha língua é como a pena de habilidoso escritor.

² Your beauty is more than mortal, grace is shed over your lips: therefore God has blessed you forever.

² Tu és o mais formoso dos filhos dos homens; nos teus lábios se extravasou a graça; por isso, Deus te abençoou para sempre.

³ Warrior, strap your sword on your thigh. What glory and splendour!

³ Cinge a espada no teu flanco, herói; cinge a tua glória e a tua majestade!

⁴ Good fortune attend you, as forth you ride in the cause of good faith, and as champion of justice. May your arm instruct you in deeds of dread.

⁴ E nessa majestade cavalga prosperamente, pela causa da verdade e da justiça; e a tua destra te ensinará proezas.

⁵ Sharp are your arrows; nations fall under you: pierced to the heart are the foes of the king.

⁵ As tuas setas são agudas, penetram o coração dos inimigos do Rei; os povos caem submissos a ti.

⁶ Your throne shall endure for ever and ever your royal sceptre a sceptre of equity.

⁶ O teu trono, ó Deus, é para todo o sempre; cetro de equidade é o cetro do teu reino.

⁷ Right you love and wrong you hate: therefore the Lord your God anoints you With oil of gladness above your fellows.

⁷ Amas a justiça e odeias a iniquidade; por isso, Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com o óleo de alegria, como a nenhum dos teus companheiros.

⁸ With myrrh, aloes, and cassia your robes are all fragrant, you are gladdened by music of ivory harps.

⁸ Todas as tuas vestes recendem a mirra, aloés e cássia; de palácios de marfim ressoam instrumentos de cordas que te alegram.

⁹ King’s daughters stand ready with jewels for you, at your right hand the queen in gold of Ophir.

⁹ Filhas de reis se encontram entre as tuas damas de honra; à tua direita está a rainha adornada de ouro finíssimo de Ofir.

¹⁰ Listen, daughter, and see; and incline your ear: forget your folk and your father’s house.

¹⁰ Ouve, filha; vê, dá atenção; esquece o teu povo e a casa de teu pai.

¹¹ And when the king desires your beauty, bow to him, for he is your lord.

¹¹ Então, o Rei cobiçará a tua formosura; pois ele é o teu senhor; inclina-te perante ele.

¹² So shall the Tyrians come with gifts, and the richest of people will do you homage.

¹² A ti virá a filha de Tiro trazendo donativos; os mais ricos do povo te pedirão favores.

¹³ The king’s daughter is glorious altogether, with dress of pearls inwrought with gold.

¹³ Toda formosura é a filha do Rei no interior do palácio; a sua vestidura é recamada de ouro.

¹⁴ In many-coloured robes she is led to the king, with the virgin companions she brought in her train.

¹⁴ Em roupagens bordadas conduzem-na perante o Rei; as virgens, suas companheiras que a seguem, serão trazidas à tua presença.

¹⁵ The king’s palace they enter with joy and rejoicing.

¹⁵ Serão dirigidas com alegria e regozijo; entrarão no palácio do Rei.

¹⁶ May sons of yours take the place of your fathers, whom you will make princes in all the land.

¹⁶ Em vez de teus pais, serão teus filhos, os quais farás príncipes por toda a terra.

¹⁷ Your name will I celebrate world without end, so that nations shall praise you for ever and ever.

¹⁷ O teu nome, eu o farei celebrado de geração a geração, e, assim, os povos te louvarão para todo o sempre.
