1 Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is like a brute animal.
1 Aquele que quer aprender gosta que lhe digam quando está errado; só o tolo não gosta de ser corrigido.
2 The good obtain grace from Jehovah, but He will condemn a man of wicked devices.
2 O Senhor Deus abençoa os bons, mas condena os que planejam o mal.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
3 Quem pratica a maldade não tem segurança, mas quem é honesto não será abalado.
4 A woman of virtue is a crown to her lord, but one causing shame is like rottenness in his bones.
4 A boa esposa é o orgulho do marido, mas a esposa que traz vergonha ao marido é como câncer nos ossos dele.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right; the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
5 Quem é honesto trata todos com sinceridade, mas quem é mau vive enganando os outros.
6 The words of the wicked ambush for blood, but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
6 As palavras dos maus são uma armadilha mortal, mas as palavras das pessoas corretas salvam os que estão em perigo.
7 Overthrow the wicked, and they are not; but the house of the righteous stands.
7 Os maus serão destruídos e não deixarão descendentes, mas a família do homem correto permanecerá.
8 A man shall be praised according to his wisdom, but he who is of a crooked heart shall be despised.
8 Quem tem compreensão recebe elogios, mas quem tem coração perverso é desprezado.
9 He who is despised, and has a servant, is better than one honoring himself and lacking bread.
9 É melhor ser uma pessoa comum e trabalhar para viver do que bancar o rico e passar fome.
10 The righteous knows the life of his animal, but the mercies of the wicked are cruel.
10 Os bons cuidam bem dos seus animais, porém o coração dos maus é cruel.
11 He who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread, but he chasing vanities lacks heart.
11 Quem cultiva a sua terra tem comida com fartura, mas quem gasta o tempo com coisas sem importância não tem juízo.
12 The wicked desires the net of evils, but the root of the righteous gives fruit .
12 Os perversos querem viver daquilo que os maus conseguem, mas os bons continuam firmes fazendo o bem.
13 In the transgression of the lips is the snare of evil, but the righteous will come out from distress.
13 Os maus são apanhados na armadilha das suas próprias palavras, mas os homens direitos conseguem sair das dificuldades.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of the mouth, and the dealing of man's hands shall be given back to him.
14 Você será recompensado pelas coisas boas que disser e receberá de volta aquilo que fizer.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to advice is wise.
15 O tolo pensa que sempre está certo, mas os sábios aceitam conselhos.
16 A fool's vexation is known in a day, but the astute one covers shame.
16 Quando o tolo é ofendido, logo todos ficam sabendo, mas quem é prudente faz de conta que não foi insultado.
17 He who breathes faithfulness reveals righteousness, but a false witness deceit.
17 Quando a verdade é dita, a justiça é feita; mas a mentira produz a injustiça.
18 There is a rash speaking like thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.
18 As palavras do falador ferem como pontas de espada, mas as palavras do sábio podem curar.
19 The lips of truth are established forever, but a lying tongue is only while I wink.
19 A mentira tem vida curta, mas a verdade vive para sempre.
20 Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but to counselors of peace is joy.
20 Aqueles que planejam o mal acabarão mal, porém os que trabalham para o bem dos outros encontrarão a felicidade.
21 No trouble shall happen to the just, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.
21 Nada de ruim acontece com os homens honestos, porém os maus só encontram dificuldades.
22 Lying lips are hateful to Jehovah, but those who deal faithfulness are His delight.
22 O Senhor Deus detesta os mentirosos, porém ama os que dizem a verdade.
23 A wise man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools calls out their folly.
23 A pessoa prudente esconde a sua sabedoria, mas os tolos anunciam a sua própria ignorância.
24 The hand of the hard worker shall rule, but the remiss ones will become forced labor.
24 O homem esforçado mandará nos outros, mas o preguiçoso se tornará escravo.
25 Heaviness in a man's heart makes it droop, but a good word makes it glad.
25 As preocupações roubam a felicidade da gente, mas as palavras amáveis nos alegram.
26 The righteous searches out with his friend, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
26 Quem é direito serve de guia para o seu companheiro, porém os maus se perdem pelo caminho.
27 The slacker does not start after his game, but the wealth of a working man is precious.
27 O preguiçoso não consegue o que deseja, mas o homem trabalhador ficará rico.
28 In the way of righteousness is life, and in that pathway is no death.
28 A honradez é o caminho para a vida, mas a falta de juízo é a estrada para a morte.
