1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered, saying:
1 Então respondendo Bildade o suíta, disse:
2 Until when will you speak these things, since the words of your mouth are like a mighty wind?
2 Até quando falarás tais coisas, e as palavras da tua boca serão como um vento impetuoso?
3 Or does God pervert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert the right?
3 Porventura perverteria Deus o direito? E perverteria o TodoPoderoso a justiça?
4 If your sons have sinned against Him, and if He has sent them away in the hand of their transgression,
4 Se teus filhos pecaram contra ele, também ele os lançou na mão da sua transgressão.
5 if you would seek earnestly to God, and make your prayer to the Almighty,
5 Mas, se tu de madrugada buscares a Deus, e ao Todo-Poderoso pedires misericórdia;
6 if you were pure and upright, surely now He would rise for you, and make whole the abode of your righteousness.
6 Se fores puro e reto, certamente logo despertará por ti, e restaurará a morada da tua justiça.
7 And your beginning was small, yet your end would greatly increase.
7 O teu princípio, na verdade, terá sido pequeno, porém o teu último estado crescerá em extremo.
8 For, I beg you, ask of the former generation, and prepare to the search of their fathers;
8 Pois, eu te peço, pergunta agora às gerações passadas; e prepara-te para a inquirição de seus pais.
9 for we are but of yesterday, and we know nothing because our days on earth are a shadow.
9 Porque nós somos de ontem, e nada sabemos; porquanto nossos dias sobre a terra são como a sombra.
10 Shall they not teach you, and tell you, and bring words out of their heart?
10 Porventura não te ensinarão eles, e não te falarão, e do seu coração não tirarão palavras?
11 Can the rush grow up without mire? Can the reed grass grow without water?
11 Porventura cresce o junco sem lodo? Ou cresce a espadana sem água?
12 While it is yet in its greenness, and not cut down, it dries out before every plant.
12 Estando ainda no seu verdor, ainda que não cortada, todavia antes de qualquer outra erva se seca.
13 So are the paths of all those forgetting God; and the hope of the ungodly shall perish;
13 Assim são as veredas de todos quantos se esquecem de Deus; e a esperança do hipócrita perecerá.
14 whose hope is cut off, and his trust as a spider's house.
14 Cuja esperança fica frustrada; e a sua confiança será como a teia de aranha.
15 He shall lean on his house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold fast to it, but it shall not endure.
15 Encostar-se-á à sua casa, mas ela não subsistirá; apegar-se-á a ela, mas não ficará em pé.
16 He is moist before the sun, and his branches shoot forth on his garden.
16 Ele é viçoso perante o sol, e os seus renovos saem sobre o seu jardim;
17 His roots are wrapped around a heap; he sees a house of stones.
17 As suas raízes se entrelaçam, junto à fonte; para o pedregal atenta.
18 If one destroys him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying I have not seen you!
18 Se Deus o consumir do seu lugar, negá-lo-á este, dizendo: Nunca te vi!
19 Behold this is the joy of His way, and out of the earth others shall grow.
19 Eis que este é a alegria do seu caminho, e outros brotarão do pó.
20 Behold, God will not cast away the innocent, and He will not help the evildoers,
20 Eis que Deus não rejeitará ao reto; nem toma pela mão aos malfeitores;
21 until He fills your mouth with laughter, and your lips with rejoicing.
21 Até que de riso te encha a boca, e os teus lábios de júbilo.
22 Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame; and the tent of the wicked shall not be .
22 Os que te odeiam se vestirão de confusão, e a tenda dos ímpios não existirá mais.
