1 He who loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates rebuke is stupid.
1 Aquele que quer aprender gosta que lhe digam quando está errado; só o tolo não gosta de ser corrigido.
2 The good obtains favor from Yahweh, but anyone who schemes, he condemns.
2 O Senhor Deus abençoa os bons, mas condena os que planejam o mal.
3 A person will not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous will not be moved.
3 Quem pratica a maldade não tem segurança, mas quem é honesto não será abalado.
4 A woman of strength is the crown of her master, but like rot in his bones is she who brings shame.
4 A boa esposa é o orgulho do marido, mas a esposa que traz vergonha ao marido é como câncer nos ossos dele.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are just; the advice of the wicked is treacherous.
5 Quem é honesto trata todos com sinceridade, mas quem é mau vive enganando os outros.
6 The words of the wicked are an ambush of blood, but the mouth of the upright delivers them.
6 As palavras dos maus são uma armadilha mortal, mas as palavras das pessoas corretas salvam os que estão em perigo.
7 The wicked are overthrown and ⌞are no more⌟, but the house of the righteous shall stand.
7 Os maus serão destruídos e não deixarão descendentes, mas a família do homem correto permanecerá.
8 For his mouth of good sense, a man will be recommended, but he who is of perverse ⌞mind⌟ will be despised.
8 Quem tem compreensão recebe elogios, mas quem tem coração perverso é desprezado.
9 It is better to be lowly and a servant ⌞to someone⌟ than self-glorifying and lacking food.
9 É melhor ser uma pessoa comum e trabalhar para viver do que bancar o rico e passar fome.
10 The righteous knows the life of his animal, but the compassion of the wicked is cruel.
10 Os bons cuidam bem dos seus animais, porém o coração dos maus é cruel.
11 He who works his land will have plenty of food, but he who follows worthless things lacks ⌞sense⌟.
11 Quem cultiva a sua terra tem comida com fartura, mas quem gasta o tempo com coisas sem importância não tem juízo.
12 The wicked covets the proceeds of evil, but the root of the righteous ⌞bears fruit⌟.
12 Os perversos querem viver daquilo que os maus conseguem, mas os bons continuam firmes fazendo o bem.
13 By the transgression of lips, evil is ensnared, but the righteous escapes from trouble.
13 Os maus são apanhados na armadilha das suas próprias palavras, mas os homens direitos conseguem sair das dificuldades.
14 From the fruit of the mouth of a man, he is filled with good, and the reward of ⌞a man’s labor⌟ will return to him.
14 Você será recompensado pelas coisas boas que disser e receberá de volta aquilo que fizer.
15 The way of a fool is upright in his own eyes, but he who listens to advice is wise.
15 O tolo pensa que sempre está certo, mas os sábios aceitam conselhos.
16 As for a fool, ⌞on that very day⌟ he makes his anger known, but he who ignores an insult is prudent.
16 Quando o tolo é ofendido, logo todos ficam sabendo, mas quem é prudente faz de conta que não foi insultado.
17 He who will speak truth will reveal righteousness, but the witness of falsehood, deceit.
17 Quando a verdade é dita, a justiça é feita; mas a mentira produz a injustiça.
18 There is one who speaks rashly, like the thrust of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
18 As palavras do falador ferem como pontas de espada, mas as palavras do sábio podem curar.
19 A lip of truth endures forever, but a tongue of deception lasts only a moment.
19 A mentira tem vida curta, mas a verdade vive para sempre.
20 Deceit is in the heart of ⌞those who plan⌟ evil, but to ⌞those who plan⌟ peace, there is joy.
20 Aqueles que planejam o mal acabarão mal, porém os que trabalham para o bem dos outros encontrarão a felicidade.
21 ⌞No evil will happen⌟ to the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble.
21 Nada de ruim acontece com os homens honestos, porém os maus só encontram dificuldades.
22 An abomination of Yahweh are lips of deceit, but they who act faithfully are his delight.
22 O Senhor Deus detesta os mentirosos, porém ama os que dizem a verdade.
23 A clever person conceals knowledge, but the heart of a fool announces folly.
23 A pessoa prudente esconde a sua sabedoria, mas os tolos anunciam a sua própria ignorância.
24 The hand of the diligent ones will rule, but the lazy will belong to forced labor.
24 O homem esforçado mandará nos outros, mas o preguiçoso se tornará escravo.
25 Anxiety in the heart of a man will weigh him down, but a good word will cheer him.
25 As preocupações roubam a felicidade da gente, mas as palavras amáveis nos alegram.
26 A righteous person will seek out his neighbor, but the way of the wicked will lead them astray.
26 Quem é direito serve de guia para o seu companheiro, porém os maus se perdem pelo caminho.
27 The lazy will not roast his game, but diligence is the precious wealth of a man.
27 O preguiçoso não consegue o que deseja, mas o homem trabalhador ficará rico.
28 On the road of righteousness is life, and on the way of the path, may there be no death.
28 A honradez é o caminho para a vida, mas a falta de juízo é a estrada para a morte.
