1 BOOK THE THIRD Nothing but good, is God, Unto Israel, Unto the pure in heart.
1 Na verdade, Deus é bom para o povo de Israel, ele é bom para aqueles que têm um coração puro. para os orgulhosos e os maus, quase perdi a confiança em Deus porque fiquei com inveja deles.
2 But, as for me,My feet had, almost stumbled, My steps had, well-nigh slipped;

3 For I was envious of the boasters, At the prosperity of the lawless, used I to look.

4 For they have no pangs in their death, And vigorous is their body;
4 Os maus não sofrem; eles são fortes e cheios de saúde.
5 Of the toil of weak mortals, have they none, Nor, with the sons of earth, are they hard smitten.
5 Eles não sofrem como os outros sofrem, nem têm as aflições que os outros têm.
6 For this cause, doth arrogance deck them as a neck-chain, And a garment of wrong is their attire;
6 Por isso, usam o orgulho como se fosse um colar e a violência, como uma
7 Their iniquity, hath proceeded from fatness, They have surpassed the imaginations of the heart;
7 O coração deles está cheio de maldade, e a mente deles só vive fazendo planos perversos.
8 They mock, and wickedly command oppression, From on high, they command;
8 Eles gostam de caçoar e só falam de coisas más. São orgulhosos e fazem planos para explorar os outros.
9 They have set, in the heavens, their mouth, And, their tongue, marcheth through the earth.
9 Falam mal de Deus, que está no céu, e com orgulho dão ordens às pessoas aqui na terra.
10 Therefore must his people return thither, And, the waters of abundance, are drained by them;
10 Assim o povo de Deus vai atrás deles e crê no que eles dizem.
11 And they sayHow doth GOD know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?
11 Eles afirmam: “Deus não vai saber disso; o Altíssimo não descobrirá nada!”
12 Lo! these, are the lawless, Who are secure for an age, They have attained unto wealth.
12 Os maus são assim: eles têm muito e ficam cada vez mais ricos.
13 Altogether in vain, Have I cleansed my heart, And bathed in pureness, my hands;
13 Parece que não adiantou nada eu me conservar puro e ter as mãos limpas de pecado.
14 And yet been smitten all the day, And been rebuked morning by morning!
14 Pois tu, ó Deus, me tens feito sofrer o dia inteiro, e todas as manhãs me castigas.
15 If I had thought, I will relate it thus, Lo! the circle of thy sons, had I betrayed.
15 Se eu tivesse falado como os maus, teria traído o teu povo.
16 When I reasoned, that I might understand this, A vexation, it was in mine eyes:
16 Então eu me esforcei para entender essas coisas, mas isso era difícil demais para mim.
17 Until I could enter the holy places of God,Could give heed to their hereafter:
17 Porém, quando fui ao teu Templo, entendi o que acontecerá no fim com os maus.
18 Surely, in slippery places, dost thou set them,Thou hast suffered them to fall into places of danger.
18 Tu os pões em lugares onde eles escorregam e fazes com que caiam mortos.
19 How have they become desolate, as in a moment! They have ceasedcome to an end, by reason of calamities.
19 Eles são destruídos num momento e têm um fim horrível.
20 As the dream of him that waketh, O my Lord! when rousing thyself up, their shadowy being, wilt thou despise.
20 Quando te levantas, Senhor, tu não lembras dos maus, pois eles são como um sonho que a gente esquece quando acorda de manhã.
21 But my heart had grown embittered, And, in my reins, had I received wounds;
21 O meu coração estava cheio de amargura, e eu fiquei revoltado.
22 But, I, was brutish, and could not perceive, Like the beasts, had I become before thee.
22 Eu não podia compreender, ó Deus; era como um animal, sem entendimento.
23 Nevertheless, I, am continually before thee, Thou hast taken hold of my right hand;
23 No entanto, estou sempre contigo, e tu me seguras pela mão.
24 By thy counsel, wilt thou guide me, And, afterwards, unto glory, wilt thou take me.
24 Tu me guias com os teus conselhos e no fim me receberás com honras.
25 Whom have I in the heavens? And, compared with thee, there is nothing I desire on earth.
25 No céu, eu só tenho a ti. E, se tenho a ti, que mais poderia querer na terra?
26 Failed have my flesh and my heart, The rock of my heartand my portion, is God unto times age-abiding.
26 Ainda que a minha mente e o meu corpo enfraqueçam, Deus é a minha força, ele é tudo o que sempre preciso.
27 For lo! they who are far from thee, shall perish, Thou hast put an end to every one who wandered unchastely from thee.
27 Os que se afastam de ti certamente morrerão, e tu destruirás os que são infiéis a ti.
28 But, as for me, the drawing near of God, is my blessedness,I have made, of My Lord Yahweh, my refuge,That I may recount all thy works.
28 Mas, quanto a mim, como é bom estar perto de Deus! Faço do e anuncio tudo o que ele tem feito.
