1 Every, wise woman, buildeth up her house, but, a foolish one, with her own hands, would break it down.
1 A mulher sábia edifica o lar, mas a insensata o destrói com as próprias mãos.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness, is one who revereth Yahweh, but, he that is crooked in his way, is one who despiseth him.
2 Quem anda pelo caminho reto teme o S enhor ; quem escolhe estradas tortuosas o despreza.
3 In the mouth of the foolish, is a haughty rod, but, as for the lips of the wise, thou shalt give heed to them!
3 A conversa arrogante do insensato se torna uma vara que o castiga, mas as palavras do sábio o protegem.
4 Without cattle, the crib is clean, but, much increase, is in the strength of the ox.
4 Um estábulo sem bois permanece limpo, mas é a força do boi que provê a colheita farta.
5 A faithful witness, will not deceive, but a false witness, uttereth deceitful things.
5 A testemunha honesta não mente; a testemunha falsa respira mentiras.
6 A scoffer seeketh wisdom, and there is none, but, knowledge, to the discerning, is easy.
6 O zombador procura sabedoria e nunca a encontra, mas para o que tem discernimento o conhecimento vem fácil.
7 Get thee from the presence of a man that is a dullard, when thou perceivest not the lips of knowledge.
7 Afaste-se do tolo, pois em seus lábios não achará conhecimento.
8 The wisdom of the prudent, is to understand his way, but, the folly of dullards, is a fraud.
8 O prudente sabe para onde vai, mas os insensatos enganam a si mesmos.
9 the foolish, scoff at guilt, but, between the upright, is good pleasure.
9 Os insensatos zombam da própria culpa, mas os justos a reconhecem e buscam reconciliação.
10 The heart, knoweth its own bitterness, and, in its joy, no stranger shareth.
10 Cada coração conhece sua própria amargura, e ninguém pode compartilhar de toda a sua alegria.
11 The house of the lawless, shall be destroyed, but, the tent of the upright, shall flourish.
11 A casa dos perversos será destruída, mas a tenda dos justos florescerá.
12 There is a way that enticeth a man, but, at the latter end thereof, are the ways of death!
12 Há caminhos que a pessoa considera corretos, mas que acabam levando à estrada da morte.
13 Even, in laughter, the heart may be in pain, and, the latter end of gladness, be grief.
13 O riso pode esconder o coração aflito, mas, quando a alegria se extingue, a dor permanece.
14 With his own ways, shall be filled the backslider in heart, and, from himself, shall a good man
14 O desleal recebe o que merece, mas a pessoa de bem é recompensada.
15 The simple, believeth every word, but, the prudent, looketh well to his going.
15 O ingênuo acredita em tudo que ouve; o prudente examina seus passos com cuidado.
16 A wise man, feareth, and avoideth evil, but, a dullard, is haughty and confident.
16 O sábio é cauteloso e evita o perigo; o tolo confia demais em si mesmo e se precipita.
17 The impatient, worketh folly, and, a man of wicked devices, is hated.
17 Quem se ira com facilidade faz coisas tolas; quem trama o mal é odiado.
18 The simple inherit folly, but, the shrewd, crowneth himself with knowledge.
18 Os ingênuos são revestidos de insensatez, enquanto os prudentes são coroados de conhecimento.
19 Abased are the wicked, before the good, and, the lawless, at the gates of the righteous.
19 Os maus se prostrarão diante dos bons; os perversos se curvarão à porta dos justos.
20 Even by his neighbour, is poor man hated, but, the lovers of the rich man, are many.
20 Os pobres são desprezados pelos vizinhos, enquanto os ricos têm muitos amigos.
21 He that sheweth contempt for his neighbour, sinneth, but, he that sheweth favour to the afflicted, how happy is he!
21 É pecado desprezar o próximo; feliz o que ajuda os pobres.
22 Shall they not, become vagrants, who devise evil? but, lovingkindness and faithfulness,
22 Os que tramam fazer o mal se perdem, mas os que planejam fazer o bem encontram amor e fidelidade.
23 By all labour, there will be abundance, but, the talk of the lips, tendeth only to want.
23 O trabalho árduo produz lucro, mas a conversa fiada leva à pobreza.
24 the crown of the wise, is their wealth, but, the folly of dullards, is, folly.
24 A riqueza é coroa para os sábios, mas a insensatez dos tolos só resulta em mais insensatez.
25 A deliverer of souls, is a faithful witness, but, he that uttereth falsehoods, is a fraud.
25 A testemunha confiável salva vidas, mas a testemunha falsa é traidora.
26 In the reverence of Yahweh, is strong security, and, his children, shall have a place of refuge.
26 Quem teme o S enhor está seguro; ele é refúgio para seus filhos.
27 The reverence of Yahweh, is a well-spring of life, that a man may avoid the snares of death.
27 O temor do S enhor é fonte de vida; ajuda a escapar das armadilhas da morte.
28 In the multitude of a people, is the majesty of the king, but, in the ceasing of population, is the ruin of the prince.
28 Uma população que cresce é a glória do rei, mas a falta de súditos é a ruína do príncipe.
29 One slow to anger, hath great understanding, but, the hasty in spirit, exalteth folly.
29 Quem tem entendimento controla sua raiva; quem se ira facilmente demonstra grande insensatez.
30 The life of the whole body, is a tranquil mind, but, a decay of the bones, is jealousy.
30 O contentamento dá saúde ao corpo; a inveja é como câncer nos ossos.
31 The oppressor of the poor, hath reproached his Maker, but he that sheweth favour to the needy, is one who, holdeth Him in honour.
31 Quem oprime o pobre insulta seu Criador, mas quem ajuda o necessitado honra a Deus.
32 By his own wickedness, shall the lawless man, be thrust down, but the righteous, seeketh refuge in his integrity.
32 O perverso é destruído por sua maldade, mas o justo encontra refúgio mesmo na hora da morte.
33 In the heart of the intelligent, reposeth wisdom, but, in the midst of dullards, it maketh itself known.
33 A sabedoria é preservada no coração sensato; não
34 Righteousness, exalteth a nation, but, a reproach to any people, is sin.
34 A justiça engrandece a nação, mas o pecado é vergonha para qualquer povo.
35 The good-pleasure of a king, is due to a servant who is discreet, but, his indignation, shall be against him that bringeth shame.
35 O rei se alegra em seus servos prudentes, mas se enfurece contra os que o envergonham.
