1 Lo! all , hath mine own eye seen,Mine ear hath heard and understood it:
1 Eis que os meus olhos viram tudo isto, e os meus ouvidos o ouviram e entenderam.
2 Just as ye know, I too, know, I, fall not short, of you.
2 O que vós sabeis também eu o sei; não vos sou inferior.
3 But indeed, I, unto the Almighty, would speak, and, to direct my argument unto GOD, would I be well pleased.
3 Mas eu falarei ao Todo-Poderoso, e quero defender-me perante Deus.
4 For, in truth, ye, do besmear with falsehood, Worthless physicians, all of you!
4 Vós, porém, sois forjadores de mentiras, e vós todos, médicos que não valem nada.
5 Oh that ye would, altogether held your peace, and it should serve you for wisdom!
5 Oxalá vos calásseis de todo, pois assim passaríeis por sábios.
6 Hear, I pray you, the argument of my mouth, and, to the pleadings of my lips, give heed:
6 Ouvi agora a minha defesa, e escutai os argumentos dos meus lábios.
7 Is it, for God, ye would speak perversely? And, for him, would ye speak deceit:
7 Falareis falsamente por Deus, e por ele proferireis mentiras?
8 Even, for him, would ye be partial? Or, for GOD, would ye plead?
8 Fareis aceitação da sua pessoa? Contendereis a favor de Deus?
9 Would it be well, when he searched you out? Or, as one might jest with a mortal, would ye jest, with him?
9 Ser-vos-ia bom, se ele vos esquadrinhasse? Ou zombareis dele, como quem zomba de um homem?
10 He will, severely rebuke, you, if ye are secretly partial.
10 Certamente vos repreenderá, se em oculto vos deixardes levar de respeitos humanos.
11 Shall not, his majesty, overwhelm you? and, the dread of him, fall upon you?
11 Não vos amedrontará a sua majestade? E não cairá sobre vós o seu terror?
12 Are not your memorable sayings, proverbs of ashes? Breastworks of clay, your breastworks?
12 As vossas máximas são provérbios de cinza; as vossas defesas são torres de barro.
13 Quietly let me alone, that, I, may speak out, then let come on me, what may.
13 Calai-vos perante mim, para que eu fale, e venha sobre mim o que vier.
14 In any case, I will take up my flesh in my teeth, and, my life, will I put in my hand:
14 Tomarei a minha carne entre os meus dentes, e porei a minha vida na minha mão.
15 Lo! he may slay me, , for him, will I wait,Nevertheless, my waysunto his face, will I show to be right:
15 Eis que ele me matará; não tenho esperança; contudo defenderei os meus caminhos diante dele.
16 Even he, will be on my sideunto salvation, For, not before his face, shall any impious person come.
16 Também isso será a minha salvação, pois o ímpio não virá perante ele.
17 Hear ye patiently my speech, and be my declaration in your ears.
17 Ouvi atentamente as minhas palavras, e chegue aos vossos ouvidos a minha declaração.
18 Lo! I pray you, I have set forth in order a plea, I know that, I, shall be found right.
18 Eis que já pus em ordem a minha causa, e sei que serei achado justo:
19 Who is it that shall contend with me? For, now, if I should hold my peace, why! I should breathe my last!
19 Quem é o que contenderá comigo? Pois então me calaria e renderia o espírito.
20 Only, two things, do thou not with me, then, from thy face, will I not hide me:
20 Concede-me somente duas coisas; então não me esconderei do teu rosto:
21 Thy handfrom off me, take thou far away, and, thy terror, let it not startle me!
21 desvia a tua mão rara longe de mim, e não me amedronte o teu terror.
22 Then call thou, and, I, will answer, Or I will speak, and reply thou unto me.
22 Então chama tu, e eu responderei; ou eu falarei, e me responde tu.
23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? My transgression and my sin, let me know!
23 Quantas iniqüidades e pecados tenho eu? Faze-me saber a minha transgressão e o meu pecado.
24 Wherefore, thy face, shouldst thou hide? Or count me, as an enemy to thee?
24 Por que escondes o teu rosto, e me tens por teu inimigo?
25 A driven leaf, wilt thou cause to tremble? Or, dry stubble, wilt thou pursue?
25 Acossarás uma folha arrebatada pelo vento? E perseguirás o restolho seco?
26 For thou writest, against me, bitter things, and dost make me inherit the iniquities of my youth;
26 Pois escreves contra mim coisas amargas, e me fazes herdar os erros da minha mocidade;
27 And thou dost putin the stocksmy feet, and observest all my paths, Against the roots of my feet, thou dost cut out a bound;
27 também pões no tronco os meus pés, e observas todos os meus caminhos, e marcas um termo ao redor dos meus pés,
28 And, a man himself, as a rotten thing, weareth out, as a garment which the moth hath eaten.
28 apesar de eu ser como uma coisa podre que se consome, e como um vestido, ao qual rói a traça.
