1 Hallelujah; for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is comely; him becometh praise.
1 Louvai ao SENHOR, porque é bom cantar louvores ao nosso Deus, porque é agradável; decoroso é o louvor.
2 The Lord buildeth up Jerusalem: the outcasts of Israel will he gather together;
2 O Senhor edifica a Jerusalém, congrega os dispersos de Israel.
3 He that healeth the brokenhearted, and bindeth up their hurts;
3 Sara os quebrantados de coração, e lhes ata as suas feridas.
4 Who counteth the number of the stars; who calleth them all by their names.
4 Conta o número das estrelas, chama-as a todas pelos seus nomes.
5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power: his understanding is immeasurable.
5 Grande é o nosso Senhor, e de grande poder; o seu entendimento é infinito.
6 The Lord helpeth up the meek: he bringeth down the wicked to the ground.
6 O Senhor eleva os humildes, e abate os ímpios até à terra.
7 Lift up a song unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises unto our God with the harp;
7 Cantai ao Senhor em ação de graças; cantai louvores ao nosso Deus sobre a harpa.
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who causeth grass to grow upon the mountains;
8 Ele é o que cobre o céu de nuvens, o que prepara a chuva para a terra, e o que faz produzir erva sobre os montes;
9 Who giveth to the beast its food, to the young ravens which cry.
9 O que dá aos animais o seu sustento, e aos filhos dos corvos, quando clamam.
10 Not in the strength of the horse hath he delight: nor in the swiftness of the legs of man taketh he pleasure.
10 Não se deleita na força do cavalo, nem se compraz nas pernas do homem.
11 The Lord taketh pleasure in those that fear him, that wait for his kindness.
11 O Senhor se agrada dos que o temem e dos que esperam na sua misericórdia.
12 Glorify, O Jerusalem, the Lord: praise thy God, O Zion.
12 Louva, ó Jerusalém, ao Senhor; louva, ó Sião, ao teu Deus.
13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children in the midst of thee;
13 Porque fortaleceu os ferrolhos das tuas portas; abençoa aos teus filhos dentro de ti.
14 He who bestoweth peace in thy borders, who satisfieth thee with the best of wheat;
14 Ele é o que põe em paz os teus termos, e da flor da farinha te farta.
15 He who sendeth forth his decree unto the earth: how swiftly speedeth his word along!
15 O que envia o seu mandamento à terra; a sua palavra corre velozmente.
16 He who dispenseth snow like wool; who streweth about the hoarfrost like ashes;
16 O que dá a neve como lã; esparge a geada como cinza;
17 He who casteth down his ice like pieces: before his cold who can stand?
17 O que lança o seu gelo em pedaços; quem pode resistir ao seu frio?
18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and waters run along.
18 Manda a sua palavra, e os faz derreter; faz soprar o vento, e correm as águas.
19 He declareth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances unto Israel.
19 Mostra a sua palavra a Jacó, os seus estatutos e os seus juízos a Israel.
20 He hath not done so unto any nation: and his ordinances these they know not. Hallelujah.
20 Não fez assim a nenhuma outra nação; e quanto aos seus juízos, não os conhecem. Louvai ao Senhor.
