Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs NAA
1 Then answered Eliphaz the Themanite, and said,
1 Então Elifaz, o temanita, tomou a palavra e disse:
2 If we essay to address a word to thee, wilt thou be wearied? yet who is able to refrain from speaking?
2 “Se alguém tentar falar, você terá paciência para ouvir? Mas quem poderá conter as palavras?
3 Behold, thou hast ere this corrected many, and weak hands thou wast wont to strengthen.
3 Veja bem! Você ensinou a muitos e fortaleceu mãos cansadas.
4 Him that stumbled thy words used to uphold, and to sinking knees thou gavest vigor.
4 As suas palavras sustentaram os que tropeçavam, e você fortaleceu joelhos vacilantes.
5 Yet now, when it cometh to thee, thou art wearied: it toucheth even thee, and thou art terrified.
5 Mas agora, quando chega a sua vez, você perde a paciência; ao ser atingido, você fica apavorado.
6 Is not then thy fear of God still thy confidence, thy hope equal to the integrity of thy ways?
6 Você não tem confiança no seu temor a Deus? Não tem esperança na integridade dos seus caminhos?
7 Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous destroyed?
7 Pense bem: será que algum inocente já chegou a perecer? E onde os retos foram destruídos?
8 Even as I have seen, that those who plough wrongdoing, and sow trouble, have to reap the same.
8 Segundo eu tenho visto, os que lavram a iniquidade e semeiam o mal, isso mesmo eles colhem.
9 Before the breathing of God they perish, and before the breath of his nostrils they come to their end.
9 Com o hálito de Deus perecem; e com o sopro da sua ira são consumidos.
10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
10 Cessa o bramido do leão e a voz do leão feroz, e os dentes dos leõezinhos são quebrados.
11 The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the whelps of the lioness have to scatter themselves abroad.
11 O leão morre, porque não há presa, e os filhos da leoa andam dispersos.”
12 But to me a word came by stealth, and my ear took in a scarcely perceptible whisper thereof.
12 “Uma palavra me foi trazida em segredo, e os meus ouvidos perceberam um sussurro dela.
13 In intense thoughts out of visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men:
13 Entre pensamentos de visões noturnas, quando o sono profundo cai sobre as pessoas,
14 Dread came over me, with trembling, and it caused all my bones to shudder.
14 sobrevieram-me o espanto e o tremor, e todos os meus ossos estremeceram.
15 Then flitted a spirit past before my face; the hair of my body stood up:
15 Então um espírito passou por diante de mim; e se arrepiaram os cabelos do meu corpo.
16 It stood still, but I could not recognize its form; a figure was before my eyes, a slight whisper, then a louder voice I heard, saying,
16 Ele parou, mas não reconheci a sua aparência. Um vulto estava diante dos meus olhos; houve silêncio, e ouvi uma voz:
17 Can a mortal be more righteous than God? or can a man be more pure than his Maker?
17 ‘Pode um mortal ser justo diante de Deus? Pode alguém ser puro diante do seu Criador?
18 Behold, in his servants he putteth no trust, and his angels he chargeth with folly:
18 Eis que Deus não confia nos seus servos e aos seus anjos atribui imperfeições;
19 How much less in those that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed till they come to be eaten by the moth?
19 quanto mais àqueles que habitam em casas de barro, cujo fundamento está no pó, e que são esmagados como a traça!
20 From morning to evening are they broken to pieces: without laying it to heart they perish for ever.
20 Nascem de manhã e à tarde são destruídos; perecem para sempre, sem que ninguém se importe com isso.
21 Behold, their excellency which is in them is torn away: they die, and this without wisdom.
21 Se o fio da vida lhes é cortado, morrem e não alcançam a sabedoria.’”
