1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved upward out of its place.
1 “Diante disto, o meu coração treme e salta do seu lugar.
2 Hear, O hear, the rattling of his thunder, and the storms roar that goeth out of his mouth.
2 Ouçam atentamente o trovão de Deus, o estrondo que sai da sua boca.
3 Under the whole heavens he letteth it loose, and his lightning over the ends of the earth.
3 Ele o solta por baixo de todos os céus, e o seu relâmpago chega até os confins da terra.
4 Behind it roareth the thunder; he thundereth with his majestic voice; and he holdeth them not back when his voice is heard.
4 Depois deste, ruge a sua voz, troveja com o estrondo da sua majestade, e ele já não retém o relâmpago quando se ouve a sua voz.
5 God thundereth with his marvelous voice: he doth great things, which we cannot comprehend.
5 Com a sua voz Deus troveja maravilhosamente; ele faz grandes coisas, que nós não compreendemos.
6 For to the snow he saith, Be thou on the earth: likewise the pouring rain, and to the pouring rains of his strength.
6 Porque ele diz à neve: ‘Caia sobre a terra’; e à chuva e ao aguaceiro: ‘Sejam fortes’.
7 He sealeth it on the hand of every man, that all men whom he hath made may know it.
7 Assim, ele torna inativas as mãos de todos, para que reconheçam as obras dele.
8 Then retire the beasts into their dens, and rest in their lairs.
8 Os animais entram nos seus esconderijos e ficam nas suas cavernas.
9 Out of his chamber cometh the whirlwind, and out of the north, the cold.
9 De suas recâmaras sai a tempestade, e os ventos fortes trazem o frio.
10 From the breathing of God ice is given, and the broad waters become solid.
10 Pelo sopro de Deus se dá a geada, e uma grande extensão de água congela.
11 Also with moisture he loadeth the cloud; and he scattereth the cloud of his lightning;
11 Carrega de umidade as densas nuvens, e do meio delas irradia o seu relâmpago.
12 And it is turned round about by his guidance, to execute what he commandeth it upon the face of the world, the earth.
12 Então as nuvens, segundo o rumo que ele dá, se espalham para uma e outra direção, para fazerem tudo o que lhes ordena sobre a superfície da terra.
13 Whether it be as a chastising rodif this be destined for his earthor for kindness, doth he cause it to come.
13 E tudo isso ele faz vir para disciplina, se convém à terra, ou para exercer a sua misericórdia.”
14 Give ear unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider well the wonders of God.
14 “Dê ouvidos a isto, Jó; pare e pense nas maravilhas de Deus.
15 Dost thou know how God hath imposed a law on them, and how he hath caused the light of his cloud to shine?
15 Será que você sabe como Deus comanda as nuvens e como faz resplandecer o relâmpago da sua nuvem?
16 Dost thou know aught about the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
16 Será que você sabe algo sobre o equilíbrio das nuvens e sobre as maravilhas daquele que é perfeito em conhecimento?
17 Thou who clothest thyself with warm garments, when He giveth the earth rest from the south wind?
17 Você, cujas roupas ficam aquecidas quando há forte calor por causa do vento sul,
18 Hast thou with him spread out the skies, which are strong even as a molten mirror?
18 será que você pode ajudar Deus a estender o firmamento, que é sólido como espelho de metal fundido?
19 Let us know what we shall say unto him: we cannot set aught in order before him because of darkness.
19 Ensine-nos o que devemos dizer a ele, porque nós, envoltos em trevas, não podemos expor a nossa causa diante dele.
20 Can all be related of him, when I speak ever so much? or if a man talk of him even till he be swallowed up in death?
20 Será que alguém deveria contar a Deus que eu quero falar com ele? Se alguém fizesse isso, seria devorado.”
21 Yet now men see not the light which is bright in the skies, when the wind hath passed along, and purified them.
21 “Eis que ninguém pode olhar para o sol, que brilha no céu, uma vez passado o vento que o deixa limpo.
22 The golden light that cometh out of the north: around God is terrible majesty.
22 Do norte vem o áureo esplendor, pois Deus está cercado de tremenda majestade.
23 The Almighty, whom we cannot find out, excellent in power, and in justice, and abounding in righteousness, will not afflict:
23 Quanto ao Todo-Poderoso, não o podemos compreender. Ele é grande em poder, porém não perverte o juízo e a plenitude da justiça.
24 Therefore do men fear him; he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
24 Por isso, as pessoas o temem; ele não olha para os que se julgam sábios.”
