1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy with which his mother taught him.
1 As Palavras do rei Lemuel, a profecia que lhe ensinou a sua mãe.
2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
2 O que, meu filho? E o que, filho do meu útero? E o que, filho dos meus votos?
3 Do not give thy strength nor thy ways unto the women who destroy kings.
3 Não dês tua força às mulheres, nem os teus caminhos àquilo que destrói os reis.
4 [It is] not for kings, O Lemuel, [it is] not for kings to drink wine; nor is beer for princes
4 Não é para os reis, ó Lemuel, não é para os reis beber vinho, nem para os príncipes, bebida forte;
5 lest they drink and forget the law and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
5 para que eles não bebam e se esqueçam da lei, e pervertam o juízo de quaisquer dos aflitos.
6 Give beer unto him that is ready to perish and wine unto those that have heavy hearts.
6 Dá bebida forte para aquele que está pronto para perecer, e o vinho àqueles de coração pesado.
7 They drink and forget their need and remember their misery no more.
7 Deixe-o beber e esquecer sua pobreza, e não se lembre mais da sua miséria.
8 Open thy mouth for those who cannot speak in the judgment of all the sons of death.
8 Abre a tua boca pelos mudos, na causa de todos os que são designados à destruição.
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and destitute.
9 Abre a tua boca, julga retamente, e pleiteia pela causa dos pobres e necessitados.
10 [Aleph] Who can find a valiant woman? for her price [is] far above precious stones.
10 Quem consegue encontrar uma mulher virtuosa? Porque seu preço é muito acima dos rubis.
11 [Beth] The heart of her husband safely trusts in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
11 O coração do seu marido confia seguramente nela, de maneira que ele não terá necessidade de despojo.
12 [Gimel] She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
12 Ela o fará bem, e não mal, todos os dias da sua vida.
13 [Daleth] She sought wool and flax and worked willingly with her hands.
13 Ela busca lã e linho, e trabalha de boa vontade com suas mãos.
14 [He] She was like the merchants' ships; she brings her food from afar.
14 Ela é como os navios mercantes, traz de longe a sua comida.
15 [Vau] She rose up even at night and gave food to her family and a portion to her maidens.
15 Ela também se levanta enquanto ainda é noite, e dá mantimento à sua casa e uma porção às suas servas.
16 [Zain] She considered the inheritance and bought it; with the fruit of her hands she planted a vineyard.
16 Ela considera um campo e o compra; ela planta uma vinha com o fruto de suas mãos.
17 [Cheth] She girded her loins with strength and strengthened her arms.
17 Ela cinge os seus lombos de força, e fortalece os seus braços.
18 [Teth] She perceived that her merchandise [was] good; her fire did not go out by night.
18 Ela percebe que sua mercadoria é boa; sua vela não se apaga de noite.
19 [Jod] She laid her hands to the spindle, and her hands held the distaff.
19 Ela estende as suas mãos ao fuso, e suas mãos seguram a roca.
20 [Caph] She stretched out her hand to the poor; [yea], she reached forth her hands to the destitute.
20 Ela estende sua mão aos pobres; sim, ela faz sua mão alcançar os necessitados.
21 [Lamed] She shall not be afraid of the snow for her family, for all her family [is] clothed with double garments.
21 Ela não tem medo da neve na sua casa; porque toda a sua casa está vestida de escarlata.
22 [Mem] She makes herself tapestries; her clothing [is] of fine linen and purple.
22 Ela faz para si cobertas de tapeçaria; sua roupa é de seda e de púrpura.
23 [Nun] Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.
23 Seu marido é conhecido nos portões, quando se assenta entre os anciãos da terra.
24 [Samech] She made fine linen and sold [it] and delivered girdles unto the merchant.
24 Ela faz linho fino e o vende, e entrega cintos aos mercadores.
25 [Ain] Strength and glory [is] her clothing, and she shall laugh in the last day.
25 A força e a honra são sua vestimenta; e ela se regozijará no tempo vindouro.
26 [Pe] She opened her mouth with wisdom, and the law of mercy [is] upon her tongue.
26 Ela abre a sua boca com sabedoria, e a sua língua é lei da bondade.
27 [Tzaddi] She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat bread in idleness.
27 Ela olha bem para os caminhos da sua casa, e não come o pão da preguiça.
28 [Koph] Her sons rose up and called her blessed; her husband [also], and he praised her.
28 Seus filhos se levantam e a chamam de abençoada; seu marido também, e ele a louva.
29 [Resh] Many daughters have done valiantly, but thou dost excel them all.
29 Muitas filhas procederam virtuosamente, mas tu sobressaíste a todas elas.
30 [Schin] Grace [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain, [but] the woman that fears the LORD shall be praised.
30 O favor é enganoso e a beleza é vã, mas uma mulher que teme ao SENHOR será louvada.
31 [Tau] Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.:
31 Dá-lhe do fruto das suas mãos, e deixe suas próprias obras louvarem-na nos portões.
