1 A Psalme of Salomon. Give thy iudgements to the King, O God, and thy righteousnesse to the Kings sonne.
1 Ó Deus, ensina o rei a julgar de acordo com a tua justiça! Dá-lhe a tua justiça
2 Then shall he iudge thy people in righteousnesse, and thy poore with equitie.
2 para que governe o teu povo com honestidade e trate com justiça os explorados.
3 The mountaines and the hilles shall bring peace to the people by iustice.
3 Que haja prosperidade no país, pois o povo faz o que é direito!
4 He shall iudge the poore of the people: he shall saue the children of the needie, and shall subdue the oppressor.
4 Que o rei julgue os pobres honestamente! Que ele ajude os necessitados e derrote os que exploram o povo!
5 They shall feare thee as long as the sunne and moone endureth, from generatio to generation.
5 Que o rei viva enquanto o sol durar e a lua existir, por
6 He shall come downe like the rayne vpon the mowen grasse, and as the showres that water the earth.
6 Que o rei seja como a chuva que cai sobre os campos, como os aguaceiros que regam a terra!
7 In his dayes shall the righteous florish, and abundance of peace shalbe so long as the moone endureth.
7 Que a justiça floresça durante a sua vida, e que haja prosperidade enquanto a lua brilhar!
8 His dominion shall be also from sea to sea, and from the Riuer vnto the endes of the land.
8 O seu reino irá de um mar a outro e desde o rio Eufrates até os fins da terra.
9 They that dwell in ye wildernes, shall kneele before him, and his enemies shall licke the dust.
9 Os povos do deserto se curvarão diante dele, e os seus inimigos se humilharão aos seus pés.
10 The Kings of Tarshish and of the yles shall bring presents: the Kings of Sheba and Seba shall bring giftes.
10 Os reis da Espanha e das ilhas lhe oferecerão presentes, e assim também os reis da Arábia e da Etiópia.
11 Yea, all Kings shall worship him: all nations shall serue him.
11 Todos os reis se curvarão diante dele, e todas as nações lhe obedecerão.
12 For he shall deliuer the poore when he cryeth: the needie also, and him that hath no helper.
12 O rei ajuda os pobres que lhe pedem socorro; ele ajuda os necessitados e os abandonados.
13 He shalbe mercifull to the poore and needie, and shall preserue the soules of the poore.
13 Ele tem pena dos fracos e dos necessitados e salva a vida dos que precisam de auxílio.
14 He shall redeeme their soules from deceite and violence, and deare shall their blood be in his sight.
14 Ele os livra da exploração e da violência; a vida deles é preciosa para ele.
15 Yea, he shall liue, and vnto him shall they giue of the golde of Sheba: they shall also pray for him continually, and dayly blesse him.
15 Viva o rei! Que ele receba ouro da Arábia! Que todos os dias sejam feitas orações em favor dele, e que Deus sempre o abençoe!
16 An handfull of corne shall be sowen in the earth, euen in the toppe of the mountaines, and the fruite thereof shall shake like the trees of Lebanon: and the children shall florish out of the citie like the grasse of the earth.
16 Que no país haja fartura de cereais! Que os montes fiquem cobertos de colheitas e produzam tanto quanto os montes Líbanos! Que as cidades fiquem cheias de gente como o capim cobre os campos!
17 His name shall be for euer: his name shall indure as long as the sunne: all nations shall blesse him, and be blessed in him.
17 Que o nome do rei nunca seja esquecido, e que a sua fama dure enquanto o sol existir! Que todos os povos peçam que Deus os abençoe assim como ele tem abençoado o rei!
18 Blessed be the Lord God, euen the God of Israel, which onely doeth wonderous things.
18 Louvem o Senhor , o Deus de Israel, pois é ele quem faz essas coisas maravilhosas.
19 And blessed be his glorious Name for euer: and let all the earth be filled with his glorie. So be it, euen so be it. HERE END THE prayers of Dauid, the sonne of Ishai.
19 Louvem para sempre o seu nome e que a sua encha o mundo inteiro!
