1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David. O Lord, thou hast tried me and knowen me.
1 SENHOR, tu me sondaste, e me conheces.
2 Thou knowest my sitting and my rising: thou vnderstandest my thought afarre off.
2 Tu sabes o meu assentar e o meu levantar; de longe entendes o meu pensamento.
3 Thou compassest my pathes, and my lying downe, and art accustomed to all my wayes.
3 Cercas o meu andar, e o meu deitar; e conheces todos os meus caminhos.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but loe, thou knowest it wholy, O Lord.
4 Não havendo ainda palavra alguma na minha língua, eis que logo, ó Senhor, tudo conheces.
5 Thou holdest mee straite behinde and before, and layest thine hand vpon me.
5 Tu me cercaste por detrás e por diante, e puseste sobre mim a tua mão.
6 Thy knowledge is too wonderfull for mee: it is so high that I cannot attaine vnto it.
6 Tal ciência é para mim maravilhosíssima; tão alta que não a posso atingir.
7 Whither shall I goe from thy Spirite? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
7 Para onde me irei do teu espírito, ou para onde fugirei da tua face?
8 If I ascende into heauen, thou art there: if I lye downe in hell, thou art there.
8 Se subir ao céu, lá tu estás; se fizer no inferno a minha cama, eis que tu ali estás também.
9 Let mee take the winges of the morning, and dwell in the vttermost parts of the sea:
9 Se tomar as asas da alva, se habitar nas extremidades do mar,
10 Yet thither shall thine hand leade me, and thy right hand holde me.
10 Até ali a tua mão me guiará e a tua destra me susterá.
11 If I say, Yet the darkenes shall hide me, euen the night shalbe light about me.
11 Se disser: Decerto que as trevas me encobrirão; então a noite será luz à roda de mim.
12 Yea, the darkenes hideth not from thee: but the night shineth as the day: the darkenes and light are both alike.
12 Nem ainda as trevas me encobrem de ti; mas a noite resplandece como o dia; as trevas e a luz são para ti a mesma coisa;
13 For thou hast possessed my reines: thou hast couered me in my mothers wombe.
13 Pois possuíste os meus rins; cobriste-me no ventre de minha mãe.
14 I will praise thee, for I am fearefully and wonderously made: marueilous are thy workes, and my soule knoweth it well.
14 Eu te louvarei, porque de um modo assombroso, e tão maravilhoso fui feito; maravilhosas são as tuas obras, e a minha alma o sabe muito bem.
15 My bones are not hid from thee, though I was made in a secret place, and facioned beneath in the earth.
15 Os meus ossos não te foram encobertos, quando no oculto fui feito, e entretecido nas profundezas da terra.
16 Thine eyes did see me, when I was without forme: for in thy booke were all things written, which in continuance were facioned, when there was none of them before.
16 Os teus olhos viram o meu corpo ainda informe; e no teu livro todas estas coisas foram escritas; as quais em continuação foram formadas, quando nem ainda uma delas havia.
17 Howe deare therefore are thy thoughtes vnto me, O God! how great is ye summe of them!
17 E quão preciosos me são, ó Deus, os teus pensamentos! Quão grandes são as somas deles!
18 If I should count them, they are moe then the sand: when I wake, I am still with thee.
18 Se as contasse, seriam em maior número do que a areia; quando acordo ainda estou contigo.
19 Oh that thou wouldest slay, O God, the wicked and bloody men, to whom I say, Depart ye from mee:
19 Ó Deus, tu matarás decerto o ímpio; apartai-vos portanto de mim, homens de sangue.
20 Which speake wickedly of thee, and being thine enemies are lifted vp in vaine.
20 Pois falam malvadamente contra ti; e os teus inimigos tomam o teu nome em vão.
21 Doe not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and doe not I earnestly contend with those that rise vp against thee?
21 Não odeio eu, ó Senhor, aqueles que te odeiam, e não me aflijo por causa dos que se levantam contra ti?
22 I hate them with an vnfained hatred, as they were mine vtter enemies.
22 Odeio-os com ódio perfeito; tenho-os por inimigos.
23 Try mee, O God, and knowe mine heart: prooue me and know my thoughtes,
23 Sonda-me, ó Deus, e conhece o meu coração; prova-me, e conhece os meus pensamentos.
24 And consider if there be any way of wickednes in me, and leade me in the way for euer.
24 E vê se há em mim algum caminho mau, e guia-me pelo caminho eterno.
