1 For the desire thereof hee will separate himselfe to seeke it, and occupie himselfe in all wisdome.
1 O homem que se isola busca seu próprio desejo, procurou e intermediou com toda a sabedoria.
2 A foole hath no delite in vnderstanding: but that his heart may be discouered.
2 Um tolo não tem prazer no entendimento, mas isso o seu coração pode descobrir por si mesmo.
3 When the wicked commeth, then commeth contempt, and with the vile man reproch.
3 Quando vier o perverso, vem também o desprezo, e com a ignomínia a vergonha.
4 The words of a mans mouth are like deepe waters, and the welspring of wisdome is like a flowing riuer.
4 As palavras da boca de um homem são como águas profundas, e a fonte da sabedoria como um ribeiro que corre.
5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to cause ye righteous to fall in iudgement.
5 Não é bom aceitar a pessoa do perverso para derrubar o justo em juízo.
6 A fooles lips come with strife, and his mouth calleth for stripes.
6 Os lábios de um tolo entram em contenda, e a sua boca pede por pancadas.
7 A fooles mouth is his owne destruction, and his lips are a snare for his soule.
7 A boca de um tolo é a sua destruição, e os seus lábios são o laço da sua alma.
8 The wordes of a tale bearer are as flatterings, and they goe downe into the bowels of the belly.
8 As palavras do mexeriqueiro são como feridas; elas descem às partes mais profundas da barriga.
9 He also that is slouthfull in his worke, is euen the brother of him that is a great waster.
9 Aquele que também é preguiçoso no seu trabalho, é irmão daquele que é um grande desperdiçador.
10 The Name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth vnto it, and is exalted.
10 O nome do SENHOR é uma torre forte, o justo corre para ela e está seguro.
11 The rich mans riches are his strong citie: and as an hie wall in his imagination.
11 A fortuna do homem rico é a sua cidade forte, e como uma muralha alta é a sua própria presunção.
12 Before destruction the heart of a man is hautie, and before glory goeth lowlines.
12 O coração do homem se exalta antes de ser destruído, e antes da honra está a humildade.
13 He that answereth a matter before hee heare it, it is folly and shame vnto him.
13 Aquele que responde uma questão antes de ouvi-la, é loucura e vergonha sobre si.
14 The spirit of a man will susteine his infirmitie: but a wounded spirit who can beare it?
14 O espírito do homem sustentará a sua enfermidade, mas um espírito ferido, quem o suportará?
15 A wise heart getteth knowledge, and the eare of the wise seeketh learning.
15 O coração do prudente adquire o conhecimento, e o ouvido dos sábios busca o conhecimento.
16 A mans gift enlargeth him, and leadeth him before great men.
16 O presente de um homem abre o seu caminho e o leva diante de grandes homens.
17 He that is first in his owne cause, is iust: then commeth his neighbour, and maketh inquirie of him.
17 Aquele que é o primeiro em sua própria causa parece justo, porém vem o seu próximo e o examina.
18 The lot causeth contentions to cease, and maketh a partition among the mightie.
18 A sorte faz com que as contendas cessem, e divide entre os poderosos.
19 A brother offended is harder to winne then a strong citie, and their contentions are like the barre of a palace.
19 O irmão ofendido é mais difícil de se conquistar do que uma cidade forte; e suas contendas são como as barras de um castelo.
20 With the fruite of a mans mouth shall his belly be satisfied, and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
20 A barriga de um homem se satisfará com o fruto de sua boca, e com o acréscimo de seus lábios ele estará satisfeito.
21 Death and life are in the power of ye tongue, and they that loue it, shall eate the fruite thereof.
21 A morte e a vida estão no poder da língua; e aqueles que a amam comerão do seu fruto.
22 He that findeth a wife, findeth a good thing, and receiueth fauour of the Lord.
22 Aquele que encontra uma esposa acha uma coisa boa, e obtém o favor do SENHOR.
23 The poore speaketh with prayers: but the rich answereth roughly.
23 O pobre usa súplicas, mas o rico responde com dureza.
24 A man that hath friends, ought to shew him selfe friendly: for a friend is neerer then a brother.
24 Um homem que tem amigos deve mostrar-se amigável, e há um amigo mais chegado do que um irmão.
