1 Call nowe, if any will answere thee, and to which of the Saintes wilt thou turne?
1 Chama agora, haverá alguém que te responda? E para qual dos santos te tornarás?
2 Doubtlesse anger killeth the foolish, and enuie slayeth the idiote.
2 Porque a ira mata o homem tolo, e a inveja destrói o tolo.
3 I haue seene the foolish well rooted, and suddenly I cursed his habitation, saying,
3 Eu tenho visto o tolo lançando raízes; mas de repente eu amaldiçoei sua habitação.
4 His children shalbe farre from saluation, and they shall be destroyed in the gate, and none shall deliuer them.
4 Seus filhos estão longe da segurança, e eles são esmagados no portão, não há quem os livre.
5 The hungrie shall eate vp his haruest: yea, they shall take it from among the thornes, and the thirstie shall drinke vp their substance.
5 O faminto come a sua colheita, até dentre os espinhos a tira, e o ladrão engole a sua riqueza.
6 For miserie commeth not foorth of the dust, neither doeth affliction spring out of the earth.
6 Contudo, a aflição não vem do pó, nem o problema brota da terra;
7 But man is borne vnto trauaile, as the sparkes flie vpwarde.
7 mas o homem nasce para o problema, como as faíscas voam para cima.
8 But I would inquire at God, and turne my talke vnto God:
8 Eu buscaria a Deus; e a Deus eu entregaria a minha causa;
9 Which doeth great things and vnsearchable, and marueilous things without nomber.
9 o qual faz coisas grandes e inescrutáveis; coisas maravilhosas e sem número;
10 He giueth raine vpon the earth, and powreth water vpon the streetes,
10 que dá a chuva sobre a terra, e envia águas sobre os campos;
11 And setteth vp on hie them that be lowe, that the sorowfull may be exalted to saluation.
11 para colocar sobre um lugar alto aqueles que estão abatidos; e para que os que choram possam ser exaltados à segurança.
12 He scattereth the deuices of the craftie: so that their handes can not accomplish that which they doe enterprise.
12 Ele frustra os planos dos astutos, para que as suas mãos não possam realizar sua iniciativa.
13 He taketh the wise in their craftinesse, and the counsel of the wicked is made foolish.
13 Ele apanha o sábio na sua própria astúcia; e o conselho do perverso é levado impetuosamente.
14 They meete with darkenesse in the day time, and grope at noone day, as in the night.
14 Eles se encontram com as trevas durante o dia, e tateiam ao meio-dia como de noite.
15 But he saueth the poore from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hande of the violent man,
15 Mas ele salva o pobre da espada, da sua boca, e da mão do poderoso.
16 So that the poore hath his hope, but iniquitie shall stop her mouth.
16 Assim, o pobre tem esperança, e a iniquidade fecha a sua boca.
17 Beholde, blessed is the man whome God correcteth: therefore refuse not thou the chastising of the Almightie.
17 Eis que feliz é o homem a quem Deus corrige; portanto, não desprezes o castigo do Todo-Poderoso;
18 For he maketh the wound, and bindeth it vp: he smiteth, and his handes make whole.
18 porque ele faz a ferida, e ele a cura; ele fere, e as suas mãos reconstituem.
19 He shall deliuer thee in sixe troubles, and in the seuenth the euill shall not touch thee.
19 Ele te livrará de seis problemas; sim, no sétimo nenhum mal te tocará.
20 In famine he shall deliuer thee from death: and in battel from the power of the sworde.
20 Na fome ele te redimirá da morte; e na guerra, do poder da espada.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue, and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it commeth.
21 Serás protegido do açoite da língua; nem temerás a destruição quando ela vier.
22 But thou shalt laugh at destruction and dearth, and shalt not be afraide of the beast of the earth.
22 Da destruição e da fome te rirás, nem temerás os animais da terra.
23 For the stones of the fielde shall be in league with thee, and the beastes of the field shall be at peace with thee.
23 Porque estarás unido às pedras do campo, e os animais do campo estarão em paz contigo.
24 And thou shalt knowe, that peace shall be in thy tabernacle, and thou shalt visite thine habitation, and shalt not sinne.
24 E tu saberás que teu tabernáculo estará em paz; e visitarás a tua habitação, e não pecarás.
25 Thou shalt perceiue also, that thy seede shalbe great, and thy posteritie as the grasse of the earth.
25 Também saberás que tua semente será grandiosa, e tua descendência como a grama da terra.
26 Thou shalt goe to thy graue in a ful age, as a ricke of corne commeth in due season into the barne.
26 Chegarás à tua sepultura na idade madura, assim como o feixe de trigo é colhido em sua estação.
27 Lo, thus haue we inquired of it, and so it is: heare this and knowe it for thy selfe.
27 Eis que isto já examinamos, e assim é; ouve-o, e sabe isso para teu bem.
