¹ Elihu spake moreouer, and said,

¹ Eliú prosseguiu:

² Thinkest thou this right, that thou hast said, I am more righteous then God?

² "Você acha que isso é justo? Pois você diz: ‘Serei absolvido por Deus’.

³ For thou hast said, What profiteth it thee and what auaileth it me, to purge me from my sinne?

³ Contudo, você lhe pergunta: ‘Que vantagem tenho eu, e o que ganho, se não pecar? ’

⁴ Therefore will I answere thee, and thy companions with thee.

⁴ "Desejo responder-lhe, a você e aos seus amigos que estão com você.

⁵ Looke vnto the heauen, and see and behold the cloudes which are hyer then thou.

⁵ Olhe para os céus e veja; mire as nuvens, tão elevadas.

⁶ If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him, yea, when thy sinnes be many, what doest thou vnto him?

⁶ Se você pecar, em que isso o afetará? Se os seus pecados forem muitos, que é que isso lhe fará?

⁷ If thou be righteous, what giuest thou vnto him? or what receiueth he at thine hand?

⁷ Se você for justo, o que lhe dará? Ou o que ele receberá de sua mão?

⁸ Thy wickednesse may hurt a man as thou art: and thy righteousnes may profite ye sonne of man.

⁸ A sua impiedade só afeta aos homens, seus semelhantes, e a sua justiça, aos filhos dos homens.

⁹ They cause many that are oppressed, to crye, which crye out for ye violence of the mightie.

⁹ "Os homens se lamentam sob fardos de opressão; imploram que os libertem do braço dos poderosos.

¹⁰ But none saieth, Where is God that made me, which giueth songs in the nyght?

¹⁰ Mas não há quem pergunte: ‘Onde está Deus, o meu Criador, que de noite faz surgirem cânticos,

¹¹ Which teacheth vs more then the beastes of the earth, and giueth vs more wisdome then the foules of the heauen.

¹¹ que nos ensina mais que aos animais da terra e nos faz mais sábios que as aves dos céus? ’

¹² Then they crye because of the violence of the wicked, but he answereth not.

¹² Quando clamam, ele não responde por causa da arrogância dos ímpios.

¹³ Surely God will not heare vanitie, neyther will the Almightie regard it.

¹³ Aliás, Deus não escuta a vã súplica que fazem; o Todo-poderoso não lhe dá atenção.

¹⁴ Although thou sayest to God, Thou wilt not regard it, yet iudgement is before him: trust thou in him.

¹⁴ Pois muito menos escutará quando você disser que não o vê, que a sua causa está diante dele e que você tem que esperar por ele.

¹⁵ But nowe because his anger hath not visited, nor called to count the euill with great extremitie,

¹⁵ Mais que isso, que a sua ira jamais castiga e que ele não dá a mínima atenção à iniqüidade.

¹⁶ Therfore Iob openeth his mouth in vaine, and multiplieth wordes without knowledge.

¹⁶ Assim é que Jó abre a sua boca para dizer palavras vãs; em sua ignorância ele multiplica palavras".
