1 Since many have undertaken to prepare a narrative about those having been fully established among us facts,
1 Muitos se propuseram a escrever uma narração dos acontecimentos que se cumpriram entre nós.
2 even as delivered to us those from a beginning eyewitnesses and ministers having been of the word;
2 Usaram os relatos que nos foram transmitidos por aqueles que, desde o princípio, foram testemunhas oculares e servos da palavra.
3 it seemed right also to me, having traced from the first all accurately, in an orderly manner to thee to write, O most excellent Theophilus,
3 Depois de investigar tudo detalhadamente desde o início, também decidi escrever-lhe um relato preciso, excelentíssimo Teófilo,
4 that thou mayest know concerning which thou hast been taught of words the certainly.
4 para que tenha plena certeza de tudo que lhe foi ensinado.
5 Was in the days of Herod, the king of the Judea, a priest certain name Zacharias, of course of Abia; and the wife of him of the daughters of Aaron, and the name of her Elisabeth.
5 Quando Herodes era rei da Judeia, havia um sacerdote chamado Zacarias, que fazia parte do grupo sacerdotal de Abias. Sua esposa, Isabel, também pertencia à linhagem sacerdotal de Arão.
6 They were and righteous both in presence of the God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
6 Zacarias e Isabel eram justos aos olhos de Deus e obedeciam cuidadosamente a todos os mandamentos e estatutos do Senhor.
7 And not was to them a child, because the Elisabeth was barren, and both having been advanced in the days of them were.
7 Não tinham filhos, pois Isabel era estéril, e ambos já estavam bem velhos.
8 It happen now in the to perform sacred rites him in the order of the course of him before of the God,
8 Certo dia, Zacarias estava servindo diante de Deus no templo, pois seu grupo realizava o trabalho sacerdotal, conforme a escala.
9 according to the custom of the priesthood it fell to his lot of the to burn incense, entering into the temple of the Lord;
9 Foi escolhido por sorteio, como era costume dos sacerdotes, para entrar no santuário do Senhor e queimar incenso.
10 and whole the multitude was of the people praying without to the hour of the incense burning.
10 Enquanto o incenso era queimado, uma grande multidão orava do lado de fora.
11 Appeared and to him a messenger of a Lord, standing at right of the altar of the incense.
11 Então um anjo do Senhor lhe apareceu, à direita do altar de incenso.
12 And was troubled Zacharias seeing, and fear fell upon him.
12 Ao vê-lo, Zacarias ficou muito abalado e assustado.
13 Said but to him the messenger: Not fear, Zacharias; because has been heard the prayer of thee, and the wife of thee Elisabeth shall bear a son to thee; and thou shalt call the name of him John.
13 O anjo, porém, lhe disse: “Não tenha medo, Zacarias! Sua oração foi ouvida. Isabel, sua esposa, lhe dará um filho, e você o chamará João.
14 And he shall be a joy to thee and exultation, and many at the birth of him shall be glad.
14 Você terá grande satisfação e alegria, e muitos se alegrarão com o nascimento do menino,
15 He shall be for great in sight of a Lord; and wine and strong drink not not he may drink; and a spirit of holy shall be filled yet out of womb of mother of himself.
15 pois ele será grande aos olhos do Senhor. Nunca tomará vinho nem outra bebida forte. Será cheio do Espírito Santo, antes mesmo de nascer.
16 And many of the sons of Israel shall he turn to a Lord the God of them.
16 Fará muitos israelitas voltarem ao Senhor, seu Deus.
17 And he shall precede in the sight of him in spirit and power of Elias, to turn hearts of fathers to children, and disobedient by wisdom of just (ones), to make ready for a Lord a people having been prepared.
17 Será um homem com o espírito e o poder de Elias, e preparará o povo para a vinda do Senhor. Fará o coração dos pais voltar para seus filhos e levará os rebeldes a aceitarem a sabedoria dos justos”.
18 And said Zacharias to the messenger: By what shall I know this? I for am an old man, and the wife of me far advanced in the days of herself.
18 Zacarias disse ao anjo: “Como posso ter certeza de que isso acontecerá? Já sou velho, e minha mulher também é de idade avançada”.
19 And answering the messenger said to him: I am Gabriel, the having attended in presence of the God; and I am sent to speak to thee, and to tell glad tidings to thee these.
19 O anjo respondeu: “Sou Gabriel, e estou sempre na presença de Deus. Foi ele quem me enviou para lhe trazer estas boas-novas.
20 And lo, thou shalt be having been dumb, and not being able to speak, till which day may be done these; because of which not thou hast believed the words of me, which shall be fulfilled into the season of them.
20 Agora, porém, você ficará mudo até os dias em que essas coisas acontecerão, pois não acreditou em minhas palavras, que se cumprirão no devido tempo”.
21 And was the people waiting for the Zacharias; and wondering in the to delay him in the temple.
21 Enquanto isso, o povo esperava Zacarias sair do santuário e se perguntava por que ele demorava tanto.
22 Coming out but not he was able to speak to them; and they perceived, that a vision he has been in the temple; and he was making signs to them, and remained dumb.
22 Quando finalmente saiu, não conseguia falar com eles, e perceberam por seus gestos e seu silêncio que ele havia tido uma visão no santuário.
23 And it happened as were filled the days of the ministration of him, he went to the house of himself.
23 Ao fim de seus dias de serviço no templo, Zacarias voltou para casa.
24 After and these the days conceived Elisabeth the wife of him; and hid herself months five, saying:
24 Pouco tempo depois, sua esposa, Isabel, engravidou e não saiu de casa por cinco meses.
25 That thus to me has done the Lord in days, which he looked on to take away the reproach of me among men.
25 “Como o Senhor foi bom para mim em minha velhice!”, exclamou ela. “Tirou de mim a humilhação pública de não ter filhos!”
26 In now the month the sixth was sent the messenger Gabriel by the God to a city of the Galilee, to which a name Nazareth,
26 No sexto mês da gestação de Isabel, Deus enviou o anjo Gabriel a Nazaré, uma cidade da Galileia,
27 to a virgin having been betrothed to a man, to whom a name Joseph, of house of David; and the name of the virgin, Mary.
27 a uma virgem de nome Maria. Ela estava prometida em casamento a um homem chamado José, descendente do rei Davi.
28 And coming the messenger to her, said: Hail, having been favored; the Lord with thee. having been blessed thou among women.
28 Gabriel apareceu a ela e lhe disse: “Alegre-se, mulher favorecida! O Senhor está com você!”.
29 She but at the word was greatly agitated, and pondered, what could be the salutation this.
29 Confusa, Maria tentou imaginar o que o anjo quis dizer.
30 And said the messenger to her: Not fear, Mary; thou hast found for favor with the God.
30 “Não tenha medo, Maria”, disse o anjo, “pois você encontrou favor diante de Deus.
31 And lo, thou shalt conceive in womb, and shalt bear a son, and thou shalt call the name of him Jesus.
31 Ficará grávida e dará à luz um filho, e o chamará Jesus.
32 This shall be great, and a son of highest he shall be called; and shall give to him a Lord the God the throne of David the father of him;
32 Ele será grande, e será chamado Filho do Altíssimo. O Senhor Deus lhe dará o trono de seu antepassado Davi,
33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob to the ages, and of the kingdom of him not shall be and end.
33 e ele reinará sobre Israel para sempre; seu reino jamais terá fim!”
34 Said but Mary to the messenger: How shall be this, since a man not I know?
34 Maria perguntou ao anjo: “Como isso acontecerá? Eu sou virgem!”.
35 And answering the messenger said to her: A spirit holy shall come upon thee, and a power of highest shall overshadow thee; therefore and the being begotten holy, shall be called a son of God.
35 O anjo respondeu: “O Espírito Santo virá sobre você, e o poder do Altíssimo a cobrirá com sua sombra. Portanto, o bebê que vai nascer será santo, e será chamado Filho de Deus.
36 And lo, Elisabeth the kinswoman of thee, even she having conceived a son in old age of her; and this month sixth is to her the being called barren.
36 Além disso, sua parenta, Isabel, ficou grávida em idade avançada. As pessoas diziam que ela era estéril, mas ela concebeu um filho e está no sexto mês de gestação.
37 For not shall be impossible with the God every word.
37 Pois nada é impossível para Deus”.
38 Said and Mary: Lo, the handmaid of a Lord; may it be done to me according to the word of thee. And went from her the messenger.
38 Maria disse: “Sou serva do Senhor. Que aconteça comigo tudo que foi dito a meu respeito”. E o anjo a deixou.
39 Arising and Mary in the days those, she went into the hilly country with haste, into a city of Juda.
39 Alguns dias depois, Maria dirigiu-se apressadamente à região montanhosa da Judeia, à cidade
40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted the Elisabeth.
40 onde Zacarias morava. Ela entrou na casa e saudou Isabel.
41 And it happened, as heard the Elisabeth the salutation of the Mary, leaped the babe in the womb of her; and was filled a spirit of holy the Elisabeth, and she cried out with a voice great and said:
41 Ao ouvir a saudação de Maria, o bebê de Isabel se agitou dentro dela, e Isabel ficou cheia do Espírito Santo.
42 Having been blessed thou among women; and having been blessed the fruit of the womb of thee.
42 Em alta voz, Isabel exclamou: “Você é abençoada entre as mulheres, e abençoada é a criança em seu ventre!
43 And whence to me this, that should come the mother of the Lord of me to me?
43 Por que tenho a grande honra de receber a visita da mãe do meu Senhor?
44 Lo for, as came the voice of the salutation of thee into the ears of me, leaped the babe in exultation in the womb of me.
44 Quando ouvi sua saudação, o bebê em meu ventre se agitou de alegria.
45 And happy she having believed, that shall be a fulfillment to those having been told to her from a Lord.
45 Você é abençoada, pois creu no que o Senhor disse que faria!”.
46 And said Mary: Magnifies the soul of me the Lord,
46 Maria respondeu: “Minha alma exalta ao Senhor!
47 and has exulted the spirit of me in the God the savior of me;
47 Como meu espírito se alegra em Deus, meu Salvador!
48 for he looked upon the low state of the handmaid of himself. Lo for, from the now will call happy me all the generations;
48 Pois ele observou sua humilde serva, e, de agora em diante, todas as gerações me chamarão abençoada.
49 for has done to me great things the mighty one; and holy the name of him,
49 Pois o Poderoso é santo, e fez grandes coisas por mim.
50 and the mercy of him to generations of generations to those fearing him.
50 Demonstra misericórdia a todos que o temem, geração após geração.
51 He has showed strength with arm of himself; he has dispersed arrogant ones in thought of hearts of them.
51 Seu braço poderoso fez coisas tremendas! Dispersou os orgulhosos e os arrogantes.
52 He has cast down mighty ones from thrones, and lifted up humble ones.
52 Derrubou príncipes de seus tronos e exaltou os humildes.
53 Hungering one he filled of good things, and being rich be sent away empty.
53 Encheu de coisas boas os famintos e despediu de mãos vazias os ricos.
54 He aided Israel a child of himself, to remember mercy.
54 Ajudou seu servo Israel e lembrou-se de ser misericordioso.
55 (as he spoke to the fathers of us), to the Abraham and to the seed of him even to an age.
55 Pois assim prometeu a nossos antepassados, a Abraão e a seus descendentes para sempre”.
56 Abode and Mary with her about months three; and returned to the house of her.
56 Maria ficou com Isabel cerca de três meses, e então voltou para casa.
57 To the now Elisabeth was fulfilled the time of the to bear her; and she brought forth a son.
57 Chegado o tempo de seu bebê nascer, Isabel deu à luz um filho.
58 And heard the neighbors and the kindred of her, that had magnified a Lord the mercy of himself towards her; and they rejoiced with her.
58 Vizinhos e parentes se alegraram ao tomar conhecimento de que o Senhor havia sido tão misericordioso com ela.
59 And it came to pass, in the eight day they came to circumcise the little child; and called it, after the name of the father of him, Zacharias.
59 Quando o bebê estava com oito dias, eles vieram para a cerimônia de circuncisão. Queriam chamar o menino de Zacarias, como o pai,
60 And answering the mother of him said: No; but he shall be called John.
60 mas Isabel disse: “Não! Seu nome é João!”.
61 And they said to her: That no one is among the kindred of thee, who is called to the name this.
61 Então eles lhe disseram: “Não há ninguém em sua família com esse nome”,
62 They made signs then to the father of him, the what he would desire to be called him.
62 e com gestos perguntaram ao pai como queria chamar o bebê.
63 And having requested a tablet, he wrote, saying: John is the name of him. And they wondered all.
63 Ele pediu que lhe dessem uma tabuinha e, para surpresa de todos, escreveu: “Seu nome é João”.
64 Was opened and the mouth of him immediately, and the tongue of him and he spoke blessing the God.
64 No mesmo instante, Zacarias voltou a falar e começou a louvar a Deus.
65 And came on all a fear those dwelling around them; and in whole the hillycountry of the Judea talked of through out all the things these.
65 Toda a vizinhança se encheu de temor, e a notícia do que havia acontecido se espalhou por toda a região montanhosa da Judeia.
66 And placed all those having heard in the heart of themselves, saying: What then the child this will be? And hand of Lord was with him.
66 Todos que ficavam sabendo meditavam sobre esses acontecimentos e perguntavam: “O que vai ser esse menino?”. Pois a mão do Senhor estava sobre ele.
67 And Zacharias the father of him was filled a spirit of holy, and prophesied, saying:
67 Então seu pai, Zacarias, ficou cheio do Espírito Santo e profetizou:
68 Blessed Lord, the God of the Israel; for he was visited and wrought redemption to the people of himself,
68 “Seja bendito o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, pois visitou e resgatou seu povo.
69 and raised up a horn of salvation to us in the house of David the servant of himself
69 Ele nos enviou poderosa salvação da linhagem real de seu servo Davi,
70 (even as he spoke through mouth of the holy ones, of those from age, of prophets of himself);
70 como havia prometido muito tempo atrás por meio de seus santos profetas.
71 a salvation from enemies of us, and from hand of all those hating us;
71 Agora seremos salvos de nossos inimigos e de todos que nos odeiam.
72 to perform mercy with the fathers of us, and to remember covenant holy of himself,
72 Ele foi misericordioso com nossos antepassados ao lembrar-se de sua santa aliança,
73 an oath, which he swore to Abraham the father of us, of the to give to us,
73 o juramento solene que fez com nosso antepassado Abraão.
74 without fear, from hand of the enemies of us having been rescued, to worship him
74 Prometeu livrar-nos de nossos inimigos para o servirmos sem medo,
75 in holiness and righteousness in presence of him, all the days of us.
75 em santidade e justiça, enquanto vivermos.
76 And thou, little child, a prophet of highest shalt be called; thou shalt go for before face of a Lord, to prepare ways of him,
76 “E você, meu filhinho, será chamado profeta do Altíssimo, pois preparará o caminho para o Senhor.
77 of the to give knowledge of salvation to the people of him, in forgiveness of sins of them,
77 Dirá a seu povo como encontrar salvação por meio do perdão de seus pecados.
78 on account of tender mercies of God of us, by which he has visited us a rising from on high
78 Graças à terna misericórdia de nosso Deus, a luz da manhã, vinda do céu, está prestes a raiar sobre nós,
79 to shine to those in darkness and shade of death sitting, of the to guide the feet of us into a way of peace.
79 para iluminar aqueles que estão na escuridão e na sombra da morte e nos guiar ao caminho da paz”.
80 The now little child grew, and became strong in spirit; and was in the deserts, till day of manifestation of him to the Israel.
80 João cresceu e se fortaleceu em espírito. E viveu no deserto até chegar o tempo de se apresentar ao povo de Israel.
