1 Also, at this my heart trembleth, And it moveth from its place.
1 A tempestade me faz bater o coração, como se ele fosse pular para fora do peito.
2 Hearken diligently to the trembling of His voice, Yea, the sound from His mouth goeth forth.
2 Escutem o estrondo da voz de Deus, o trovão que sai da sua boca.
3 Under the whole heavens He directeth it, And its light [is] over the skirts of the earth.
3 Ele solta relâmpagos por todos os lados do céu e de uma ponta da terra até a outra.
4 After it roar doth a voice -- He thundereth with the voice of His excellency, And He doth not hold them back, When His voice is heard.
4 Então ouve-se o rugido da sua voz, o forte barulho do trovão; e durante todo o tempo os relâmpagos não param de cair.
5 God thundereth with His voice wonderfully, Doing great things and we know not.
5 Deus troveja com a sua voz maravilhosa; ele faz grandes coisas que não podemos compreender.
6 For to snow He saith, `Be [on] the earth.` And the small rain and great rain of His power.
6 Deus manda que caia neve sobre a terra e também fortes pancadas de chuva.
7 Into the hand of every man he sealeth, For the knowledge by all men of His work.
7 Assim, faz com que as pessoas fiquem em casa, sem poderem trabalhar, para que todos saibam que é ele quem age.
8 And enter doth the beast into covert, And in its habitations it doth continue.
8 Os animais entram nas suas tocas e ali ficam escondidos.
9 From the inner chamber cometh a hurricane, And from scatterings winds -- cold,
9 As tempestades violentas vêm do Sul, e o frio vem do Norte.
10 From the breath of God is frost given, And the breadth of waters is straitened,
10 O sopro de Deus congela as águas, que assim ficam cobertas de gelo.
11 Yea, by filling He doth press out a cloud, Scatter a cloud doth His light.
11 Deus enche de água as nuvens, e elas lançam os relâmpagos.
12 And it is turning itself round by His counsels, For their doing all He commandeth them, On the face of the habitable earth.
12 Seguindo a ordem de Deus, as nuvens se espalham em todas as direções. Elas fazem tudo o que Deus manda, em toda parte, no mundo inteiro.
13 Whether for a rod, or for His land, Or for kindness -- He doth cause it to come.
13 Deus faz cair chuva sobre a terra ou para castigar a gente ou para mostrar que tem amor por nós.
14 Hear this, O Job, Stand and consider the wonders of God.
14 “Jó, pare um instante e escute; pense nas coisas maravilhosas que Deus faz.
15 Dost thou know when God doth place them, And caused to shine the light of His cloud?
15 Será que você sabe como Deus dá a ordem para que os relâmpagos saiam brilhando das nuvens?
16 Dost thou know the balancings of a cloud? The wonders of the Perfect in knowledge?
16 Você sabe como as nuvens ficam suspensas no ar? Isso é uma prova do infinito conhecimento de Deus.
17 How thy garments [are] warm, In the quieting of the earth from the south?
17 Será que você, que fica sufocado de calor na sua roupa, antes de vir a tempestade de areia trazida pelo vento sul,
18 Thou hast made an expanse with Him For the clouds -- strong as a hard mirror!
18 será que você pode ajudar Deus a estender o céu e fazer com que fique duro como uma placa de metal fundido?
19 Let us know what we say to Him, We set not in array because of darkness.
19 Ensine-nos o que devemos dizer a ele, pois não somos capazes de pensar com clareza.
20 Is it declared to Him that I speak? If a man hath spoken, surely he is swallowed up.
20 Eu não teria o atrevimento de discutir com Deus, pois isso seria pedir que ele me destruísse.
21 And now, they have not seen the light, Bright it [is] in the clouds, And the wind hath passed by and cleanseth them.
21 “Não é possível ver o sol quando está escondido pelas nuvens; mas ele brilha de novo, depois que o vento passa e limpa o céu.
22 From the golden north it cometh, Beside God [is] fearful honour.
22 No Norte vemos uma luz dourada, e a
23 The Mighty! we have not found Him out, High in power and judgment, He doth not answer! And abundant in righteousness,
23 Não podemos compreender o Todo-Poderoso, o Deus de grande poder. A sua justiça é infinita, e ele não persegue ninguém.
24 Therefore do men fear Him, He seeth not any of the wise of heart.
24 Por isso, as pessoas o temem , e ele não dá importância aos que acham que são sábios.”
