1 A wijs womman bildith hir hous; and an unwijs womman schal distrie with hondis an hous bildid.
1 Toda mulher sábia edifica a sua casa; mas a tola a derruba com as próprias mãos.
2 A man goynge in riytful weie, and dredinge God, is dispisid of hym, that goith in a weie of yuel fame.
2 O que anda na retidão teme ao Senhor, mas o que se desvia de seus caminhos o despreza.
3 The yerde of pride is in the mouth of a fool; the lippis of wijs men kepen hem.
3 Na boca do tolo está a punição da soberba, mas os sábios se conservam pelos próprios lábios.
4 Where oxis ben not, the cratche is void; but where ful many cornes apperen, there the strengthe of oxe is opyn.
4 Não havendo bois o estábulo fica limpo, mas pela força do boi há abundância de colheita.
5 A feithful witnesse schal not lie; a gileful witnesse bringith forth a leesing.
5 A verdadeira testemunha não mentirá, mas a testemunha falsa se desboca em mentiras.
6 A scornere sekith wisdom, and he fyndith not; the teching of prudent men is esy.
6 O escarnecedor busca sabedoria e não acha nenhuma, para o prudente, porém, o conhecimento é fácil.
7 Go thou ayens a man a fool; and he schal not knowe the lippis of prudence.
7 Desvia-te do homem insensato, porque nele não acharás lábios de conhecimento.
8 The wisdom of a fel man is to vndirstonde his weie; and the vnwarnesse of foolis errith.
8 A sabedoria do prudente é entender o seu caminho, mas a estultícia dos insensatos é engano.
9 A fool scorneth synne; grace schal dwelle among iust men.
9 Os insensatos zombam do pecado, mas entre os retos há benevolência.
10 The herte that knowith the bittirnesse of his soule; a straunger schal not be meddlid in the ioie therof.
10 O coração conhece a sua própria amargura, e o estranho não participará no íntimo da sua alegria.
11 The hous of wickid men schal be don awei; the tabernaclis of iust men schulen buriowne.
11 A casa dos ímpios se desfará, mas a tenda dos retos florescerá.
12 Sotheli a weie is, that semeth iust to a man; but the laste thingis therof leden forth to deth.
12 Há um caminho que ao homem parece direito, mas o fim dele são os caminhos da morte.
13 Leiyyng schal be medlid with sorewe; and morenyng ocupieth the laste thingis of ioye.
13 Até no riso o coração sente dor e o fim da alegria é tristeza.
14 A fool schal be fillid with hise weies; and a good man schal be aboue hym.
14 O que no seu coração comete deslize, se enfada dos seus caminhos, mas o homem bom fica satisfeito com o seu proceder.
15 An innocent man bileueth to eche word; a felle man biholdith hise goyngis.
15 O simples dá crédito a cada palavra, mas o prudente atenta para os seus passos.
16 A wijs man dredith, and bowith awei fro yuel; a fool skippith ouer, and tristith.
16 O sábio teme, e desvia-se do mal, mas o tolo se encoleriza, e dá-se por seguro.
17 A man vnpacient schal worche foli; and a gileful man is odiouse.
17 O que se indigna à toa fará doidices, e o homem de maus intentos será odiado.
18 Litle men of wit schulen holde foli; and felle men schulen abide kunnyng.
18 Os simples herdarão a estultícia, mas os prudentes serão coroados de conhecimento.
19 Yuel men schulen ligge bifor goode men; and vnpitouse men bifor the yatis of iust men.
19 Os maus inclinam-se diante dos bons, e os ímpios diante das portas dos justos.
20 A pore man schal be hateful, yhe, to his neiybore; but many men ben frendis of riche men.
20 O pobre é odiado até pelo seu próximo, porém os amigos dos ricos são muitos.
21 He that dispisith his neiybore, doith synne; but he that doith merci to a pore man, schal be blessid. He that bileueth in the Lord, loueth merci;
21 O que despreza ao seu próximo peca, mas o que se compadece dos humildes é bem-aventurado.

22 Porventura não erram os que praticam o mal? mas beneficência e fidelidade haverá para os que praticam o bem.

23 Em todo trabalho há proveito, mas ficar só em palavras leva à pobreza.
24 The coroun of wise men is the richessis of hem; the fooli of foolis is vnwarnesse.
24 A coroa dos sábios é a sua riqueza, a estultícia dos tolos é só estultícia.
25 A feithful witnesse delyuereth soulis; and a fals man bringith forth leesyngis.
25 A testemunha verdadeira livra as almas, mas o que se desboca em mentiras é enganador.
26 In the drede of the Lord is triste of strengthe; and hope schal be to the sones of it.
26 No temor do Senhor há firme confiança e ele será um refúgio para seus filhos.
27 The drede of the Lord is a welle of lijf; that it bowe awei fro the fallyng of deth.
27 O temor do Senhor é fonte de vida, para desviar dos laços da morte.
28 The dignite of the king is in the multitude of puple; and the schenschipe of a prince is in the fewnesse of puple.
28 Na multidão do povo está a glória do rei, mas na falta de povo a ruína do príncipe.
29 He that is pacient, is gouerned bi myche wisdom; but he that is vnpacient, enhaunsith his foli.
29 O longânimo é grande em entendimento, mas o que é de espírito impaciente mostra a sua loucura.
30 Helthe of herte is the lijf of fleischis; enuye is rot of boonys.
30 O sentimento sadio é vida para o corpo, mas a inveja é podridão para os ossos.
31 He that falsli chalengith a nedi man, dispisith his maker; but he that hath merci on a pore man, onourith that makere.
31 O que oprime o pobre insulta àquele que o criou, mas o que se compadece do necessitado o honra.
32 A wickid man is put out for his malice; but a iust man hopith in his deth.
32 Pela sua própria malícia é lançado fora o perverso, mas o justo até na morte se mantém confiante.
33 Wisdom restith in the herte of a wijs man; and he schal teche alle vnlerned men.
33 No coração do prudente a sabedoria permanece, mas o que está no interior dos tolos se faz conhecido.
34 Riytfulnesse reisith a folc; synne makith puplis wretchis.
34 A justiça exalta os povos, mas o pecado é a vergonha das nações.
35 A mynystre vndurstondynge is acceptable to a kyng; a mynystre vnprofitable schal suffre the wrathfulnesse of him.
35 O rei se alegra no servo prudente, mas sobre o que o envergonha cairá o seu furor.
