1 But as for you, teach what befits sound doctrine.
1 Tu, porém, fala o que convém à sã doutrina.
2 The older men are to be temperate, serious, sensible, sound in faith, in love, and in endurance.
2 Os velhos que sejam sóbrios, graves, prudentes, sãos na fé, no amor e na paciência.
3 The older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or slaves to much wine, but they are to teach what is good,
3 As mulheres idosas, semelhantemente, que sejam sérias no seu viver, como convém a santas, não caluniadoras, não dadas a muito vinho, mestras no bem,
4 so they can train the young women to love their husbands and children,
4 para que ensinem as mulheres novas a serem prudentes, a amarem seus maridos, a amarem seus filhos,
5 to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
5 a serem moderadas, castas, boas donas de casa, sujeitas a seu marido, a fim de que a palavra de Deus não seja blasfemada.
6 Likewise urge the young men to be sensible.
6 Exorta semelhantemente os jovens a que sejam moderados.
7 Show yourself in all respects an example of good deeds, and in your teaching show integrity, seriousness,
7 Em tudo, te dá por exemplo de boas obras; na doutrina, mostra incorrupção, gravidade, sinceridade,
8 and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
8 linguagem sã e irrepreensível, para que o adversário se envergonhe, não tendo nenhum mal que dizer de nós.
9 Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not to talk back to them,
9 Exorta os servos a que se sujeitem a seu senhor e em tudo agradem, não contradizendo,
10 and not to steal, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in everything they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
10 não defraudando; antes, mostrando toda a boa lealdade, para que, em tudo, sejam ornamento da doutrina de Deus, nosso Salvador.
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
11 Porque a graça de Deus se há manifestado, trazendo salvação a todos os homens,
12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this present age,
12 ensinando-nos que, renunciando à impiedade e às concupiscências mundanas, vivamos neste presente século sóbria, justa e piamente,
13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
13 aguardando a bem-aventurada esperança e o aparecimento da glória do grande Deus e nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, zealous for good deeds.
14 o qual se deu a si mesmo por nós, para nos remir de toda iniquidade e purificar para si um povo seu especial, zeloso de boas obras.
15 Speak these things; exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
15 Fala disto, e exorta, e repreende com toda a autoridade. Ninguém te despreze.
