¹ Lord our God! How glorious in all the earth is your name! Your praise reaches as high as the heavens,

¹ Ó Senhor, Senhor nosso, quão admirável é o teu nome em toda a terra, pois puseste a tua glória sobre os céus!

² from the mouths of children and infants. You have built a fortress against your enemies, to silence the foe and the rebel.

² Tu ordenaste força da boca das crianças e dos que mamam, por causa dos teus inimigos, para fazer calar ao inimigo e ao vingador.

³ When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set there,

³ Quando vejo os teus céus, obra dos teus dedos, a lua e as estrelas que preparaste;

⁴ what are mortals, that you think of them, humans, that you visit them?

⁴ Que é o homem mortal para que te lembres dele? e o filho do homem, para que o visites?

⁵ Yet you made them little less than divine, crowned them with glory and majesty,

⁵ Pois pouco menor o fizeste do que os anjos, e de glória e de honra o coroaste.

⁶ made them lord of the works of your hands, put all things under their feet ---

⁶ Fazes com que ele tenha domínio sobre as obras das tuas mãos; tudo puseste debaixo de seus pés:

⁷ sheep and oxen, all of them; and the wild beasts also:

⁷ Todas as ovelhas e bois, assim como os animais do campo,

⁸ birds of the air, and fish of the sea, and all that crosses the paths of the ocean.

⁸ As aves dos céus, e os peixes do mar, e tudo o que passa pelas veredas dos mares.

⁹ Lord our God! How glorious in all the earth is your name!
