¹ O God, be gracious to me, for people trample upon me, all the day righting and pressing me.

¹ Compadece-te de mim, ó Deus, pois homens me calcam aos pés e, pelejando, me aflingem o dia todo.

² All the day enemies trample me; many there be who contend with me bitterly.

² Os meus inimigos me calcam aos pés o dia todo, pois são muitos os que insolentemente pelejam contra mim.

³ In the day of my terror I trust in you.

³ No dia em que eu temer, hei de confiar em ti.

⁴ In God I maintain my cause, in God I fearlessly trust. What can flesh do to me?

⁴ Em Deus, cuja palavra eu louvo, em Deus ponho a minha confiança e não terei medo;

⁵ They torture me all the day, they ceaselessly plan to hurt me,

⁵ Todos os dias torcem as minhas palavras; todos os seus pensamentos são contra mim para o mal.

⁶ banded together in secret, watching my every step, as those who hope for my death.

⁶ Ajuntam-se, escondem-se, espiam os meus passos, como que aguardando a minha morte.

⁷ Pay them out for their sin, O God, hurl down the strong in your anger.

⁷ Escaparão eles por meio da sua iniqüidade? Ó Deus, derruba os povos na tua ira!

⁸ You yourself count my wanderings. Put in your bottle my tears are they not in your book?

⁸ Tu contaste as minhas aflições; põe as minhas lágrimas no teu odre; não estão elas no teu livro?

⁹ Then shall my foes be turned back in the day that I call. Of this I am sure, because God is for me.

⁹ No dia em que eu te invocar retrocederão os meus inimigos; isto eu sei, que Deus está comigo.

¹⁰ In God I maintain my cause, in the Lord I maintain my cause.

¹⁰ Em Deus, cuja palavra eu louvo, no Senhor, cuja palavra eu louvo,

¹¹ In God I fearlessly trust, what can people do to me?

¹¹ em Deus ponho a minha confiança, e não terei medo; que me pode fazer o homem?

¹² Your vows are upon me, O God, I will render thank-offerings to you;

¹² Sobre mim estão os votos que te fiz, ó Deus; eu te oferecerei ações de graças;

¹³ because you have saved me from death, my feet from stumbling, to the end that I walk before God in the light of the living.

¹³ pois tu livraste a minha alma da morte. Não livraste também os meus pés de tropeçarem, para que eu ande diante de Deus na luz da vida?
