1 I, the man, have seen affliction by the rod of His wrath.
1 Eu sou aquele que viu as aflições trazidas pela vara da ira do S
2 He led me and made me go in darkness and not light.
2 Ele me conduziu para a escuridão e removeu toda a luz.
3 Surely He turned against me; He turns His hand all the day.
3 Voltou sua mão contra mim repetidamente, o dia todo.
4 He has wasted my flesh and my skin. He has shattered my bones.
4 Fez minha pele e minha carne envelhecerem e me quebrou os ossos.
5 He built against me and has put around me bitterness and hardship.
5 Sitiou-me e cercou-me de angústia e aflição.
6 He has made me live in dark places like the dead of old.
6 Enterrou-me num lugar escuro, como os que há muito morreram.
7 He walled around me and I cannot go out; He has made heavy my bronze chain .
7 Cercou-me de muros, e não consigo escapar; prendeu-me com pesadas correntes.
8 Also, when I cry out and shout for help, He shuts out my prayer.
8 E, ainda que eu clame e grite, ele fechou os ouvidos para minha oração.
9 He walled up my ways with cut stone; my paths are crooked.
9 Com um muro de pedra, impediu meu caminho; tornou minha estrada tortuosa.
10 He was a bear lying in wait for me, a lion in secret places.
10 Escondeu-se como um urso ou um leão que espera para atacar.
11 He has deflected my ways and torn me to pieces; He made me desolate.
11 Arrastou-me para fora do caminho e despedaçou-me; deixou-me devastado.
12 He has trod His bow and set me up as a mark for the arrow.
12 Preparou seu arco e me fez alvo de suas flechas.
13 He caused the sons of His quiver to enter into my inward parts.
13 As flechas que ele atirou entraram fundo em meu coração.
14 I was a mockery to all my people, their song all the day.
14 Meu povo ri de mim; o dia inteiro entoam canções de zombaria.
15 He has filled me with bitterness and made me drunk with wormwood.
15 De amargura ele me encheu e me fez beber um amargo cálice de dor.
16 And He broke my teeth with gravel; He has covered me in the ashes.
16 Fez-me comer pedrinhas até quebrar os dentes e cobriu-me de pó.
17 And You cast off my soul from peace; I have forgotten goodness.
17 Tirou-me a paz, e já não sei o que é prosperar.
18 And I said, My strength and my hope are gone from Jehovah.
18 Grito: “Meu esplendor se foi! Tudo que eu esperava do S
19 Remember my affliction and my roaming, as wormwood and bitterness.
19 Como é amargo recordar meu sofrimento e meu desamparo!
20 My soul vividly remembers and bows down on me.
20 Lembro-me sempre destes dias terríveis enquanto lamento minha perda.
21 I bring back this to my heart. On account of this I hope.
21 Ainda ouso, porém, ter esperança quando me recordo disto:
22 It is by the kindnesses of Jehovah that we are not consumed, for His mercies are not ended.
22 O amor do S enhor não tem fim! Suas misericórdias são inesgotáveis.
23 They are new by mornings; great is Your faithfulness.
23 Grande é sua fidelidade; suas misericórdias se renovam cada manhã.
24 Jehovah is my portion, says my soul. On account of this I shall hope to Him.
24 Digo a mim mesmo: “O S enhor é minha porção; por isso, esperarei nele!”.
25 Jehovah is good to those waiting on Him, to the soul seeking Him.
25 O S enhor é bom para os que dependem dele, para os que o buscam.
26 It is good that a man hopes for the salvation of Jehovah, even in silence.
26 Portanto, é bom esperar em silêncio pela salvação do S
27 It is good for a man that he bear a yoke in his youth.
27 É bom as pessoas se sujeitarem, ainda jovens, ao jugo de sua disciplina.
28 He sits alone and is silent, for He laid it on him.
28 Que permaneçam sozinhas e em silêncio sob o jugo do S
29 He puts his mouth in the dust, if perhaps there is hope.
29 Que se deitem com o rosto no pó, pois talvez ainda haja esperança.
30 He gives his cheek to Him who strikes him; he is filled with reproach.
30 Que deem a outra face para os que os ferem e aceitem os insultos de seus inimigos.
31 For the Lord will not cast off forever.
31 Pois o Senhor não abandona ninguém para sempre.
32 For though He causes grief, He will have pity according to His many kindnesses.
32 Embora traga tristeza, também mostra compaixão, por causa da grandeza de seu amor.
33 For He does not afflict from His heart, nor does He grieve the sons of man,
33 Pois não tem prazer em afligir as pessoas, nem em lhes causar tristeza.
34 to crush all the prisoners of earth under His feet,
34 Quando alguém esmaga sob os pés todos os prisioneiros da terra,
35 to turn aside the justice of a man before the face of the Most High,
35 quando nega a outros seus direitos em oposição ao Altíssimo,
36 to wrong a man in his cause. This, the Lord does not see.
36 quando distorce a justiça nos tribunais, será que o Senhor não vê tudo isso?
37 Who is this speaking, and it happens when the Lord does not command it?
37 Quem pode ordenar que algo aconteça sem a permissão do Senhor?
38 Both the evil and the good do not go out from the mouth of the Most High.
38 Acaso o Altíssimo não envia tanto a calamidade como o bem?
39 What? Should mankind complain, living man because of his sins?
39 Então por que nós, humanos, nos queixamos quando somos castigados por nossos pecados?
40 Let us search and examine our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.
40 Em vez disso, examinemos nossos caminhos e voltemos para o S
41 Let us lift up our heart and palms to God in Heaven.
41 Levantemos o coração e as mãos para Deus nos céus e digamos:
42 We have transgressed and rebelled; You, You have not forgiven.
42 “Pecamos e nos rebelamos, e tu não nos perdoaste.
43 You have wrapped Yourself with anger and pursued us; You have slain; You have not pitied.
43 “Com tua ira nos envolveste, nos perseguiste e nos massacraste sem piedade.
44 You have covered with a cloud for You, from any prayer passing through.
44 Tu te escondeste numa nuvem, para que nossas orações não chegassem a ti.
45 You have made us sweepings and garbage in the midst of the peoples.
45 Como refugo e lixo, nos lançaste fora, no meio das nações.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
46 “Todos os nossos inimigos falam contra nós.
47 Dread and a pit is ours, devastation and ruin.
47 Vivemos cheios de medo, pois estamos presos numa armadilha, devastados e arruinados”.
48 Streams of water go out of my eye for the ruin of the daughter of my people.
48 Rios de lágrimas correm de meus olhos pela destruição de meu povo.
49 My eye flows out and does not cease, from there not being any relaxing,
49 Minhas lágrimas correm sem parar; não cessarão
50 until Jehovah shall look down and see from Heaven.
50 até que o S enhor se incline dos céus e veja.
51 My eye deals severely with my soul, from all the daughters of my city.
51 Meu coração está aflito pelo destino das mulheres de Jerusalém.
52 My haters have hunted me like a bird without cause.
52 Meus inimigos, a quem nunca fiz mal, caçaram-me como se eu fosse um pássaro.
53 They have cut off my life in the pit, and they threw a stone at me.
53 Num poço me jogaram e atiraram pedras sobre mim.
54 Waters flowed over on my head; I said, I am cut off.

55 I called on Your name, O Jehovah, from the lowest pit.
55 Mas, lá do fundo do poço, invoquei teu nome, S
56 You have heard my voice; do not hide Your ear at my relief, at my cry for help.
56 Tu me ouviste quando clamei: “Ouve minha súplica! Escuta meu clamor por socorro!”.
57 You came near in the day I called You; you said, Do not fear!
57 Sim, tu vieste quando clamei e disseste: “Não tenha medo”.
58 O Lord, You contended for the causes of my soul; You redeemed my life.
58 Senhor, defende minha causa, pois redimiste minha vida.
59 You have seen my wrong, O Jehovah; judge my cause.
59 Viste a injustiça que me fizeram, S enhor ; demonstra tua justiça.
60 You have seen all their vengeance, all their plots against me.
60 Viste os planos vingativos. que meus inimigos tramaram contra mim.
61 You have heard their reproach, O Jehovah, all their plots against me,
61 S enhor , ouviste os insultos deles; sabes muito bem dos planos que tramaram.
62 the lips of those rising up against me, and their scheming against me all the day.
62 Meus inimigos me acusam e conspiram contra mim o dia todo.
63 Look at their sitting and their rising up. I am their song.
63 Olha para eles! Sentados ou em pé, zombam de mim com suas canções.
64 You will give back a recompense to them, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands.
64 S enhor , dá-lhes o que merecem por todo o mal que fizeram.
65 You will give them an insolent heart as Your curse to them.
65 Dá-lhes coração duro e teimoso, e que tuas maldições caiam sobre eles.
66 Pursue and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of Jehovah.
66 Persegue-os em tua ira e destrói-os sob os céus do S
