1 “Why are not times kept by Shaddai, and why do not those who know him see his days?
1 “Por que o Todo-Poderoso não marca um dia para julgar, um dia para fazer justiça aos que são dele?
2 They remove border stones; they seize flocks, and they pasture them.
2 Há homens que mudam os marcos de divisa para aumentar as suas terras; eles roubam ovelhas e as põem no meio das suas.
3 They drive away the donkey of orphans; they take the widow’s ox as a pledge.
3 Levam jumentos que pertencem a órfãos e ficam com o boi de uma viúva como garantia de pagamento de empréstimo.
4 They thrust the poor off the road; the needy of the earth hide themselves together.
4 Eles não respeitam os direitos dos pobres e forçam os necessitados a correr e se esconder.
5 “Look, like wild donkeys in the desert they go out to their labor as searchers for the prey; the wilderness is ⌞their⌟ food for the young.
5 “Como se fossem jumentos selvagens, os pobres andam pelo deserto procurando alimento para os filhos.
6 They reap their fodder in the field, and they glean in the vineyard of the wicked.
6 Os pobres precisam trabalhar nas colheitas dos maus e apanham uvas para eles.
7 They spend the night naked, ⌞without⌟ clothing, and they have no garment in the cold.
7 Não têm cobertas para se cobrir de noite, não têm nada que os proteja do frio.
8 They are wet from the rainstorm of the mountains, and they cling to the rock ⌞without⌟ refuge.
8 Nas montanhas são encharcados pelas chuvas e procuram abrigo nas rochas.
9 “They snatch the orphan from the breast, and they take a pledge against the needy.
9 Os perversos pegam orfãozinhos e fazem deles escravos e recebem os filhos dos necessitados como pagamento de dívidas.
10 They go about naked, without clothing, and hungry, they carry the sheaves.
10 Os pobres andam por aí quase nus e passam fome enquanto trabalham na colheita do trigo.
11 Between their terraces they press out oil; they tread the presses, but they are thirsty.
11 Eles movem as pedras dos moinhos dos maus para fazer azeite e pisam as suas uvas para fazer vinho, mas morrem de sede durante esse trabalho.
12 From the city people groan, and the throat of the wounded cries for help; yet God does not ⌞regard it as unseemly⌟.
12 Os feridos e os que estão morrendo gritam nas cidades, mas Deus não escuta os seus gritos pedindo socorro.
13 “Those are among the ones rebelling against the light; they do not recognize his ways, and they do not stay in his paths.
13 “Os perversos odeiam a luz; em todos os seus caminhos, em tudo o que fazem, não querem saber dela.
14 ⌞At dusk⌟ the murderer rises; he kills the needy and the poor, and in the night he is like a thief.
14 O assassino se levanta de madrugada para matar o pobre e de noite vira ladrão.
15 And the eye of the adulterer waits for dusk, saying, ⌞‘No eye will see me,’⌟ and he places a covering on his face.
15 O adúltero espera o cair da noite e cobre o rosto para que ninguém o veja.
16 He digs through houses in the darkness; by day they shut themselves in— they do not know the light
16 Os ladrões invadem de noite as casas; eles não saem de dia, pois não querem nada com a luz.
17 because morning likewise is to them deep darkness; indeed, they know about the terrors of deep darkness.
17 Eles têm medo da luz do dia, mas a escuridão não os deixa apavorados.”
18 “He himself is swift on the water’s surface; their portion is cursed in the land. ⌞No one turns toward the path of their vineyards⌟.
18 “O homem mau é arrastado pela enchente. As suas terras são amaldiçoadas por Deus, e ele não volta a trabalhar na sua plantação de uvas.
19 Drought and heat snatch away the snow waters, like Sheol snatches away those who have sinned.
19 Como a neve se derrete no tempo seco e no calor, assim também o pecador desaparece da terra dos vivos.
20 The womb forgets him. The maggot feasts on him until he is no longer remembered, and wickedness is broken like a tree.
20 A própria mãe não lembra dele. Os vermes o devoram com gosto, e ele é esquecido por todos. O pecador é destruído como uma árvore que cai.
21 He feeds on the barren, who does not have a child, and does no good to the widow.
21 Isso acontece porque ele nunca ajudou as viúvas, nem teve pena das mulheres que não podem ter filhos.
22 Yet he carries off the tyrants by his strength; if he rises up, then he cannot be certain of life.
22 Deus, com o seu poder, destrói os maus; ele age e acaba com a vida dos perversos.
23 He gives security to him, and he is supported, but his eyes are upon their ways.
23 Deus deixa que vivam seguros, mas fica sempre de olho neles.
24 They are exalted a little while, then ⌞they are gone⌟. And they are brought low; they are cut off like all others, and like the heads of grain they wither away.
24 Durante algum tempo, os perversos prosperam, mas num instante secam como o capim, são cortados como as espigas de trigo.
25 “And if it is not so, then who can prove me a liar and reduce my word to nothing?”
25 Quem pode dizer que essas coisas não são assim? Será que alguém pode provar que não estou dizendo a verdade?”
