1 “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak, and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
1 Escutem, ó céu e terra, e deem atenção às minhas palavras.
2 May my teaching trickle like the dew, my words like rain showers on tender grass, and like spring showers on new growth.
2 Que o meu ensino seja como a chuva que cai mansamente sobre a terra; que as minhas palavras sejam como o orvalho que se espalha sobre as plantas.
3 For I will proclaim the name of Yahweh; ascribe greatness to our God!
3 Eu louvarei o nome do Senhor . Anunciem a grandeza do nosso Deus!
4 The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are just; he is a faithful God, and ⌞without injustice⌟; righteous and upright is he.
4 O Senhor é a nossa rocha; ele é perfeito e justo em tudo o que faz. Ele é fiel e correto e julga com justiça e honestidade.
5 They have behaved corruptly toward him; they are not his children; this is their flaw, a generation crooked and perverse.
5 Mas o seu povo se entregou ao pecado e por isso eles não merecem ser filhos dele. São gente pecadora e má.
6 Like this do you treat Yahweh, foolish and ⌞unwise⌟ people? Has he not, your father, created you? He made you, and he established you.
6 Povo sem juízo e sem sabedoria, é assim que tratam o Ele é o seu Pai, que os criou; foi ele quem fundou e firmou a nação de vocês.
7 Remember the old days, ⌞the years long past⌟; ask your father, and he will inform you, your elders and they will tell you.
7 Lembrem do passado, daquilo que aconteceu há muitos anos. Perguntem aos seus pais o que foi que aconteceu e peçam aos velhos que lhes contem o que se passou.
8 ⌞When the Most High apportioned⌟ the nations, at his dividing up of the sons of humankind, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples, according to the number of the children of Israel.
8 Quando o Altíssimo separou os povos e deu a cada povo as suas terras, ele marcou as fronteiras das nações, dando a cada uma o seu próprio deus.
9 For Yahweh’s portion was his people, Jacob the share of his inheritance.
9 Mas escolheu Israel para ser o seu povo; os descendentes de Jacó pertencem ao
10 He found him in a desert land, and in a howling, desert wasteland; he ⌞encircled him⌟, he cared for him, he protected him like the ⌞apple⌟ of his eye.
10 Deus os encontrou perdidos no deserto, numa região onde viviam animais ferozes. Chegou perto, cuidou deles e os protegeu como se fossem a menina dos seus olhos.
11 As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreads out its wings, takes them, carries them on its pinions,
11 Como a águia ensina os filhotes a voar e com as asas estendidas os pega quando estão caindo, assim o
12 so Yahweh alone guided him, and ⌞there was no foreign god accompanying him⌟.
12 Ele os guiou sozinho, sem a ajuda de outro deus.
13 And he set him on the high places of the land, and he fed him the crops of the field, and he nursed him with honey from crags, and with oil from flinty rock,
13 O Senhor deixou que o seu povo dominasse as montanhas, e eles se alimentaram das plantações dos campos. Deu-lhes mel de abelhas nos rochedos e fez com que as oliveiras produzissem em terreno cheio de pedras.
14 With curds from the herd, and with milk from the flock, with the fat of young rams, and rams, the offspring of Bashan, and with goats along with the finest kernels of wheat, and from the blood of grapes you drank fermented wine.
14 Alimentou-os com leite de vaca e de cabra, deu-lhes a carne dos melhores carneirinhos, carneiros e bodes, o melhor trigo e o vinho mais fino.
15 And Jeshurun grew fat, and he kicked; you grew fat, you bloated, and you became obstinate; and he abandoned God, his maker, and he scoffed at the rock of his salvation.
15 O povo escolhido ficou rico, mas se revoltou contra Deus. Enriqueceu, progrediu, ficou satisfeito, mas abandonou a Deus, o seu Criador, e rejeitou o seu protetor e Salvador.
16 They made him jealous with strange gods; with detestable things they provoked him.
16 Com os seus deuses falsos eles provocaram a Deus, adoraram ídolos nojentos, e por isso ele ficou
17 They sacrificed to the demons, not God, to gods whom they had not known, new gods who came from recent times; ⌞their ancestors had not known them⌟.
17 Ofereceram sacrifícios aos demônios, a deuses falsos que não haviam adorado antes, novos deuses que os seus antepassados não conheciam.
18 The rock who bore you, you neglected, and you forgot God, the one giving you birth.
18 Esqueceram o seu protetor; desprezaram o seu Pai e Criador.
19 Then Yahweh saw, and he spurned them, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.
19 O Senhor Deus viu isso, ficou irado e rejeitou os seus filhos e filhas.
20 So he said, ‘I will hide my face from them; I will see what will be their end, for they are a generation of perversity, ⌞children in whom there is no faithfulness⌟.
20 Ele disse: “Eu os abandonarei e então verei o que vai acontecer com eles, pois são um povo rebelde, são filhos desobedientes.
21 They annoyed me with what is not a god; they provoked me with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those not a people, with a foolish nation I will provoke them.
21 Com as suas imagens provocaram a minha ira, e fiquei com ciúmes dos seus deuses falsos. Portanto, eu farei com que eles fiquem com ciúmes de um povo que não é nação; e, com gente sem juízo, eu provocarei a ira deles.
22 For a fire was kindled by my anger, and it burned ⌞up to the depths of Sheol⌟, and it devoured the earth and its produce, and it set afire the foundation of the mountains.
22 A minha ira se acenderá como fogo e acabará com tudo o que há na terra; ela queimará até o e incendiará as bases das montanhas.
23 I will heap disasters upon them; my arrows I will spend on them.
23 “Farei cair sobre eles desgraças sem fim e os ferirei com muitos sofrimentos.
24 They will become weakened by famine, and consumed by plague and bitter pestilence; and the teeth of wild animals I will send against them, with the poison of the creeping things in the dust;
24 A fome os matará, febres e doenças sem cura os destruirão. Mandarei animais selvagens para atacá-los e cobras venenosas para picá-los.
25 From outside her boundaries the sword will make her childless, and from inside, terror; both for the young man and also the young woman, the infant along with the gray-headed man.
25 Fora de casa morrerão na guerra e dentro de casa morrerão de medo. Serão mortos os moços e as moças, as crianças e os velhos também.
26 I thought, “I will wipe them out; ⌞I will make people forget they ever existed⌟.”
26 Eu os poderia ter espalhado pelo mundo inteiro, e todos os esqueceriam.
27 If I had not feared a provocation of the enemy, lest their foes might misunderstand, lest they should say, “Our hand is ⌞triumphant⌟, and Yahweh did not do all this.” ’
27 Porém eu não queria que os seus inimigos zombassem e mentissem, dizendo que haviam derrotado o meu povo, afirmando que não fui eu, o
28 For ⌞they are a nation void of sense⌟, and there is not any understanding in them.
28 Israel é um povo sem juízo, um povo que não entende nada.
29 If only they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern ⌞for themselves their end⌟.
29 Se eles fossem sábios, entenderiam por que foram derrotados, saberiam qual a razão do seu castigo.
30 How could one chase a thousand and two could cause a myriad to flee, if their Rock had not sold them, and Yahweh had not given them up?
30 Por que foi que mil deles fugiram de um só inimigo, e dez mil foram perseguidos por dois? Foi porque o seu protetor os abandonou; o
31 For the fact of the matter is, their rock is not like our Rock, and our enemies recognize this.
31 Os deuses dos nossos inimigos não são tão poderosos como o nosso Deus; os próprios inimigos dizem isso.
32 For their vine is from the vine of Sodom, and from the terraces of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison; ⌞their clusters are bitter⌟.
32 Eles são tão maus como a gente de Sodoma e Gomorra; são como uvas amargas e venenosas;
33 Their wine is the poison of snakes, and the deadly poison of horned vipers.
33 são como vinho feito de veneno de cobra, do veneno mortal das serpentes.
34 ‘Is not this stored up with me, sealed in my treasuries?’
34 Deus lembra daquilo que os inimigos fizeram e espera o tempo certo para castigá-los.
35 ⌞Vengeance belongs to me⌟ and also recompense, ⌞for at the time their foot slips⌟, because the day of their disaster is near, ⌞and fate comes quickly for them⌟.’
35 Deus se vingará; ele acertará contas com eles. Virá o tempo em que os inimigos cairão; o dia da desgraça deles está chegando depressa.
36 For Yahweh will judge on behalf of his people, and concerning his servants; he will change his mind when he sees that their power has disappeared, and there is no one left, confined or free.
36 O Senhor Deus terá pena do seu povo quando vir que eles estão fracos. Ele salvará aqueles que o servem, pois todos eles foram derrotados.
37 And he will say, ‘Where are their gods, their rock in whom they took refuge?
37 Então ele perguntará ao seu povo: “Onde estão os seus deuses? Onde está o protetor em quem vocês confiavam?
38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up, and let them help you; ⌞Let them be to you a refuge⌟.
38 Vocês lhes ofereciam sacrifícios e lhes davam animais e vinho. Pois que agora eles os ajudem, que eles venham socorrê-los!
39 See, now, that I, even I am he, and there is not a god besides me; I put to death and I give life; I wound and I heal; there is not one who delivers from my hand!
39 “Saibam todos que eu, somente eu, sou Deus; não há outro deus além de mim. Eu mato e eu faço viver; eu firo e eu curo. Ninguém pode me impedir de fazer o que quero.
40 For indeed I lift up my hand to heaven, And I promise ⌞as I live forever⌟,
40 Agora levanto a mão para o céu e juro pela minha vida eterna que farei isto:
41 When I sharpen ⌞my flashing sword⌟, and my hand takes hold of it in judgment, ⌞I will take reprisals against my foes⌟, and my haters I will repay.
41 Afiarei a minha espada brilhante e começarei a fazer justiça. Vou me vingar dos meus inimigos e castigar os que me odeiam.
42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh with the blood of the slain, and captives from the heads of the leaders of the enemy.’
42 As minhas flechas ficarão manchadas de sangue, e a minha espada matará os meus inimigos. Não escapará nenhum dos que lutam contra mim; até os prisioneiros serão mortos.”
43 Call for songs of joy, O nations, concerning his people, for the blood of his servants he will avenge, ⌞and he will take reprisals against his foes⌟, and he will make atonement for his land, his people.”
43 Que todas as nações louvem o povo de Deus! Deus se vingará dos que mataram os seus Ele se vingará dos seus inimigos e perdoará os pecados do seu povo.
44 And Moses came, and he spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people; that is, he and Joshua the son of Nun.
44 Moisés e Josué, filho de Num, recitaram essa canção inteira na presença do povo.
45 ⌞And when Moses finished speaking⌟ all these words to all Israel,
45 Moisés acabou de ensinar ao povo de Israel toda a lei de Deus
46 then he said to them, “⌞Take to heart all the words⌟ that I am admonishing against you ⌞today⌟ concerning which you should instruct them with respect to your children ⌞so that they will observe diligently⌟ all the words of this law,
46 e então disse: — Pensem bem em tudo o que lhes ensinei hoje e mandem que os seus filhos obedeçam a tudo o que está escrito nesta Lei de Deus.
47 for it is not a trifling matter among you, but it is your life, and through this word ⌞you will live long in the land⌟ that you are about to cross the Jordan to get there to take possession of it.”
47 Não pensem que esta Lei não vale nada; pelo contrário, é ela que lhes dará vida. Se vocês obedecerem a esta Lei, viverão muitos anos na terra que estão para possuir no outro lado do rio Jordão.
48 And Yahweh said to Moses on exactly this day, ⌞saying⌟,
48 Naquele mesmo dia o Senhor Deus disse a Moisés:
49 “Go up to this mountain of the Abarim range, Mount Nebo, which is ⌞opposite Jericho⌟, and see the land of Canaan that I am giving to the ⌞Israelites⌟ as a possession.
49 — Vá até a serra de Abarim, aqui na terra de Moabe, e suba o monte Nebo, na altura de Jericó, que fica do outro lado do rio. Lá de cima você verá a terra de Canaã, que estou dando ao povo de Israel.
50 You shall die on that mountain that you are about to go up there, and you will be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on ⌞Mount Hor⌟ and he was gathered to his people,
50 Você vai morrer ali no monte, como Arão, o seu irmão, morreu no monte Hor.
51 because of the fact that you broke faith with me in the midst of Israel at the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the desert of Zin, because ⌞you did not treat me as holy⌟ in the midst of the ⌞Israelites⌟.
51 Vocês dois foram infiéis a mim diante do povo de Israel. Quando estavam perto das fontes de Meribá, não longe da cidade de Cades, no deserto de Zim, vocês dois me desrespeitaram.
52 Yes, from afar you may view the land, but there you shall not enter there, that is, into the land that I am giving to the ⌞Israelites⌟.”
52 Por isso você verá de longe a terra que eu estou dando aos israelitas, porém não entrará nela.
