1 “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak, and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
1 Inclinai os ouvidos, ó céus, e falarei; e ouça a terra as palavras da minha boca.
2 May my teaching trickle like the dew, my words like rain showers on tender grass, and like spring showers on new growth.
2 Goteje a minha doutrina como a chuva, destile a minha palavra como o orvalho, como chuvisco sobre a erva e como gotas de água sobre a relva.
3 For I will proclaim the name of Yahweh; ascribe greatness to our God!
3 Porque apregoarei o nome do Senhor; engrandecei a nosso Deus.
4 The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are just; he is a faithful God, and ⌞without injustice⌟; righteous and upright is he.
4 Ele é a Rocha, cuja obra é perfeita, porque todos os seus caminhos justos são; Deus é a verdade, e não há nele injustiça; justo e reto é.
5 They have behaved corruptly toward him; they are not his children; this is their flaw, a generation crooked and perverse.
5 Corromperam-se contra ele; não são seus filhos, mas a sua mancha; geração perversa e distorcida é.
6 Like this do you treat Yahweh, foolish and ⌞unwise⌟ people? Has he not, your father, created you? He made you, and he established you.
6 Recompensais assim ao Senhor, povo louco e ignorante? Não é ele teu pai que te adquiriu, te fez e te estabeleceu?
7 Remember the old days, ⌞the years long past⌟; ask your father, and he will inform you, your elders and they will tell you.
7 Lembra-te dos dias da antiguidade, atenta para os anos de muitas gerações: pergunta a teu pai, e ele te informará; aos teus anciãos, e eles te dirão.
8 ⌞When the Most High apportioned⌟ the nations, at his dividing up of the sons of humankind, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples, according to the number of the children of Israel.
8 Quando o Altíssimo distribuía as heranças às nações, quando dividia os filhos de Adão uns dos outros, estabeleceu os termos dos povos, conforme o número dos filhos de Israel.
9 For Yahweh’s portion was his people, Jacob the share of his inheritance.
9 Porque a porção do Senhor é o seu povo; Jacó é a parte da sua herança.
10 He found him in a desert land, and in a howling, desert wasteland; he ⌞encircled him⌟, he cared for him, he protected him like the ⌞apple⌟ of his eye.
10 Achou-o numa terra deserta, e num ermo solitário cheio de uivos; cercou-o, instruiu-o, e guardou-o como a menina do seu olho.
11 As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreads out its wings, takes them, carries them on its pinions,
11 Como a águia desperta a sua ninhada, move-se sobre os seus filhos, estende as suas asas, toma-os, e os leva sobre as suas asas,
12 so Yahweh alone guided him, and ⌞there was no foreign god accompanying him⌟.
12 Assim só o Senhor o guiou; e não havia com ele deus estranho.
13 And he set him on the high places of the land, and he fed him the crops of the field, and he nursed him with honey from crags, and with oil from flinty rock,
13 Ele o fez cavalgar sobre as alturas da terra, e comer os frutos do campo, e o fez chupar mel da rocha e azeite da dura pederneira.
14 With curds from the herd, and with milk from the flock, with the fat of young rams, and rams, the offspring of Bashan, and with goats along with the finest kernels of wheat, and from the blood of grapes you drank fermented wine.
14 Manteiga de vacas, e leite de ovelhas, com a gordura dos cordeiros e dos carneiros que pastam em Basã, e dos bodes, com o mais escolhido trigo; e bebeste o sangue das uvas, o vinho puro.
15 And Jeshurun grew fat, and he kicked; you grew fat, you bloated, and you became obstinate; and he abandoned God, his maker, and he scoffed at the rock of his salvation.
15 E, engordando-se Jesurum, deu coices (engordaste-te, engrossaste-te, e de gordura te cobriste) e deixou a Deus, que o fez, e desprezou a Rocha da sua salvação.
16 They made him jealous with strange gods; with detestable things they provoked him.
16 Com deuses estranhos o provocaram a zelos; com abominações o irritaram.
17 They sacrificed to the demons, not God, to gods whom they had not known, new gods who came from recent times; ⌞their ancestors had not known them⌟.
17 Sacrifícios ofereceram aos demônios, não a Deus; aos deuses que não conheceram, novos deuses que vieram há pouco, aos quais não temeram vossos pais.
18 The rock who bore you, you neglected, and you forgot God, the one giving you birth.
18 Esqueceste-te da Rocha que te gerou; e em esquecimento puseste o Deus que te formou;
19 Then Yahweh saw, and he spurned them, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.
19 O que vendo o Senhor, os desprezou, por ter sido provocado à ira contra seus filhos e suas filhas;
20 So he said, ‘I will hide my face from them; I will see what will be their end, for they are a generation of perversity, ⌞children in whom there is no faithfulness⌟.
20 E disse: Esconderei o meu rosto deles, verei qual será o seu fim; porque são geração perversa, filhos em quem não há lealdade.
21 They annoyed me with what is not a god; they provoked me with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those not a people, with a foolish nation I will provoke them.
21 A zelos me provocaram com aquilo que não é Deus; com as suas vaidades me provocaram à ira: portanto eu os provocarei a zelos com o que não é povo; com nação louca os despertarei à ira.
22 For a fire was kindled by my anger, and it burned ⌞up to the depths of Sheol⌟, and it devoured the earth and its produce, and it set afire the foundation of the mountains.
22 Porque um fogo se acendeu na minha ira, e arderá até ao mais profundo do inferno, e consumirá a terra com a sua colheita, e abrasará os fundamentos dos montes.
23 I will heap disasters upon them; my arrows I will spend on them.
23 Males amontoarei sobre eles; as minhas setas esgotarei contra eles.
24 They will become weakened by famine, and consumed by plague and bitter pestilence; and the teeth of wild animals I will send against them, with the poison of the creeping things in the dust;
24 Consumidos serão de fome, comidos pela febre ardente e de peste amarga; e contra eles enviarei dentes de feras, com ardente veneno de serpentes do pó.
25 From outside her boundaries the sword will make her childless, and from inside, terror; both for the young man and also the young woman, the infant along with the gray-headed man.
25 Por fora devastará a espada, e por dentro o pavor; ao jovem, juntamente com a virgem, assim à criança de peito como ao homem encanecido.
26 I thought, “I will wipe them out; ⌞I will make people forget they ever existed⌟.”
26 Eu disse: Por todos os cantos os espalharei; farei cessar a sua memória dentre os homens,
27 If I had not feared a provocation of the enemy, lest their foes might misunderstand, lest they should say, “Our hand is ⌞triumphant⌟, and Yahweh did not do all this.” ’
27 Se eu não receasse a ira do inimigo, para que os seus adversários não se iludam, e para que não digam: A nossa mão está exaltada; o Senhor não fez tudo isto.
28 For ⌞they are a nation void of sense⌟, and there is not any understanding in them.
28 Porque são gente falta de conselhos, e neles não há entendimento.
29 If only they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern ⌞for themselves their end⌟.
29 Quem dera eles fossem sábios! Que isto entendessem, e atentassem para o seu fim!
30 How could one chase a thousand and two could cause a myriad to flee, if their Rock had not sold them, and Yahweh had not given them up?
30 Como poderia ser que um só perseguisse mil, e dois fizessem fugir dez mil, se a sua Rocha os não vendera, e o Senhor os não entregara?
31 For the fact of the matter is, their rock is not like our Rock, and our enemies recognize this.
31 Porque a sua rocha não é como a nossa Rocha, sendo até os nossos inimigos juízes disto.
32 For their vine is from the vine of Sodom, and from the terraces of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison; ⌞their clusters are bitter⌟.
32 Porque a sua vinha é a vinha de Sodoma e dos campos de Gomorra; as suas uvas são uvas venenosas, cachos amargos têm.
33 Their wine is the poison of snakes, and the deadly poison of horned vipers.
33 O seu vinho é ardente veneno de serpentes, e peçonha cruel de víboras.
34 ‘Is not this stored up with me, sealed in my treasuries?’
34 Não está isto guardado comigo? Selado nos meus tesouros?
35 ⌞Vengeance belongs to me⌟ and also recompense, ⌞for at the time their foot slips⌟, because the day of their disaster is near, ⌞and fate comes quickly for them⌟.’
35 Minha é a vingança e a recompensa, ao tempo que resvalar o seu pé; porque o dia da sua ruína está próximo, e as coisas que lhes hão de suceder, se apressam a chegar.
36 For Yahweh will judge on behalf of his people, and concerning his servants; he will change his mind when he sees that their power has disappeared, and there is no one left, confined or free.
36 Porque o Senhor fará justiça ao seu povo, e se compadecerá de seus servos; quando vir que o poder deles se foi, e não há preso nem desamparado.
37 And he will say, ‘Where are their gods, their rock in whom they took refuge?
37 Então dirá: Onde estão os seus deuses? A rocha em quem confiavam,
38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up, and let them help you; ⌞Let them be to you a refuge⌟.
38 De cujos sacrifícios comiam a gordura, e de cujas libações bebiam o vinho? Levantem-se, e vos ajudem, para que haja para vós esconderijo.
39 See, now, that I, even I am he, and there is not a god besides me; I put to death and I give life; I wound and I heal; there is not one who delivers from my hand!
39 Vede agora que eu, eu o sou, e mais nenhum deus há além de mim; eu mato, e eu faço viver; eu firo, e eu saro, e ninguém há que escape da minha mão.
40 For indeed I lift up my hand to heaven, And I promise ⌞as I live forever⌟,
40 Porque levantarei a minha mão aos céus, e direi: Eu vivo para sempre.
41 When I sharpen ⌞my flashing sword⌟, and my hand takes hold of it in judgment, ⌞I will take reprisals against my foes⌟, and my haters I will repay.
41 Se eu afiar a minha espada reluzente, e se a minha mão travar o juízo, retribuirei a vingança sobre os meus adversários, e recompensarei aos que me odeiam.
42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh with the blood of the slain, and captives from the heads of the leaders of the enemy.’
42 Embriagarei as minhas setas de sangue, e a minha espada comerá carne; do sangue dos mortos e dos prisioneiros, desde a cabeça, haverá vinganças do inimigo.
43 Call for songs of joy, O nations, concerning his people, for the blood of his servants he will avenge, ⌞and he will take reprisals against his foes⌟, and he will make atonement for his land, his people.”
43 Jubilai, ó nações, o seu povo, porque ele vingará o sangue dos seus servos, e sobre os seus adversários retribuirá a vingança, e terá misericórdia da sua terra e do seu povo.
44 And Moses came, and he spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people; that is, he and Joshua the son of Nun.
44 E veio Moisés, e falou todas as palavras deste cântico aos ouvidos do povo, ele e Josué, filho de Num.
45 ⌞And when Moses finished speaking⌟ all these words to all Israel,
45 E, acabando Moisés de falar todas estas palavras a todo o Israel,
46 then he said to them, “⌞Take to heart all the words⌟ that I am admonishing against you ⌞today⌟ concerning which you should instruct them with respect to your children ⌞so that they will observe diligently⌟ all the words of this law,
46 Disse-lhes: Aplicai o vosso coração a todas as palavras que hoje testifico entre vós, para que as recomendeis a vossos filhos, para que tenham cuidado de cumprir todas as palavras desta lei.
47 for it is not a trifling matter among you, but it is your life, and through this word ⌞you will live long in the land⌟ that you are about to cross the Jordan to get there to take possession of it.”
47 Porque esta palavra não vos é vã, antes é a vossa vida; e por esta mesma palavra prolongareis os dias na terra a qual, passando o Jordão, ides a possuir.
48 And Yahweh said to Moses on exactly this day, ⌞saying⌟,
48 Depois falou o Senhor a Moisés, naquele mesmo dia, dizendo:
49 “Go up to this mountain of the Abarim range, Mount Nebo, which is ⌞opposite Jericho⌟, and see the land of Canaan that I am giving to the ⌞Israelites⌟ as a possession.
49 Sobe ao monte de Abarim, ao monte Nebo, que está na terra de Moabe, defronte de Jericó, e vê a terra de Canaã, que darei aos filhos de Israel por possessão.
50 You shall die on that mountain that you are about to go up there, and you will be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on ⌞Mount Hor⌟ and he was gathered to his people,
50 E morre no monte ao qual subirás; e recolhe-te ao teu povo, como Arão teu irmão morreu no monte Hor, e se recolheu ao seu povo.
51 because of the fact that you broke faith with me in the midst of Israel at the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the desert of Zin, because ⌞you did not treat me as holy⌟ in the midst of the ⌞Israelites⌟.
51 Porquanto transgredistes contra mim no meio dos filhos de Israel, às águas de Meribá de Cades, no deserto de Zim; pois não me santificastes no meio dos filhos de Israel.
52 Yes, from afar you may view the land, but there you shall not enter there, that is, into the land that I am giving to the ⌞Israelites⌟.”
52 Pelo que verás a terra diante de ti, porém não entrarás nela, na terra que darei aos filhos de Israel.
