1 And it came to pass, on one of those days, as he is teaching the people in the temple, and proclaiming good news, the chief priests and the scribes, with the elders, came upon him,
1 E aconteceu que, em um daqueles dias, enquanto ele ensinava o povo no templo, e pregava o evangelho, os principais sacerdotes e os escribas vieram a ele com os anciãos,
2 and spake unto him, saying, 'Tell us by what authority you do these things? or who is he that gave to you this authority?'
2 e falaram-lhe, dizendo: Dize-nos, com que autoridade fazes tu essas coisas? Ou quem é que te deu tal autoridade?
3 And he answering said unto them, 'I will question you -- I also -- one thing, and tell me:
3 E, respondendo ele, disse-lhes: Eu também vos perguntarei uma coisa, respondam-me:
4 the baptism of John, from heaven was it, or from men?'
4 O batismo de João, era do céu ou dos homens?
5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying -- 'If we may say, From heaven, he will say, Therefore, then, did you not believe him?
5 E eles arrazoavam entre si, dizendo: Se nós dissermos: Do céu, ele nos dirá: Por que então não crestes?
6 and if we may say, From men, all the people will stone us, for they are having been persuaded John to be a prophet.'
6 Mas, e se nós dissermos: Dos homens, todo o povo nos apedrejará, porque eles estão convencidos que João era um profeta.
7 And they answered, that they knew not whence it was,
7 E eles responderam que não podiam dizer de onde era.
8 and Jesus said to them, 'Neither do I say to you by what authority I do these things.'
8 E Jesus lhes disse: Tampouco eu vos direi com que autoridade faço estas coisas.
9 And he began to speak unto the people this simile: 'A certain man planted a vineyard, and gave it out to husbandmen, and went abroad for a long time,
9 Então, ele começou a falar ao povo esta parábola: Certo homem plantou uma vinha, e arrendou-a a uns lavradores, e foi para uma terra distante por muito tempo.
10 and at the season he sent unto the husbandmen a servant, that from the fruit of the vineyard they may give to him, but the husbandmen having beat him, did sendhim away empty.
10 E, no devido tempo, enviou um servo aos lavradores, para que lhe dessem dos frutos da vinha; mas os lavradores, espancando-o, mandaram-no embora vazio.
11 'And he added to send another servant, and they that one also having beaten and dishonoured, did send away empty;
11 E novamente ele enviou outro servo; e eles também o espancaram, e o insultaram e o mandaram embora vazio.
12 and he added to send a third, and this one also, having wounded, they did cast out.
12 E ele enviou novamente um terceiro; e eles também feriram a este, e o expulsaram.
13 'And the owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my son -- the beloved, perhaps having seen this one, they will do reverence;
13 Então, disse o senhor da vinha: O que eu farei? Enviarei o meu filho amado; talvez, vendo-o, o respeitem.
14 and having seen him, the husbandmen reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, we may kill him, that the inheritance may become ours;
14 Mas, vendo-o os lavradores, eles arrazoaram entre si dizendo: Este é o herdeiro; vinde, matemo-lo, para que a herança seja nossa.
15 and having cast him outside of the vineyard, they killedhim; what, then, shall the owner of the vineyard do to them?
15 Assim, eles lançaram-no fora da vinha, e o mataram. O que lhes fará, pois, o senhor da vinha?
16 He will come, and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others.' And having heard, they said, 'Let it not be!'
16 Ele virá e destruirá esses lavradores, e dará a vinha a outros. E, ouvindo eles isso, disseram: Deus o proíba!
17 and he, having looked upon them, said, 'What, then, is this that has been written: A stone that the builders rejected -- this became head of a corner?
17 E ele observando-os, disse: Então, o que é isto que está escrito: A pedra que os edificadores rejeitaram, essa se tornou a cabeça de esquina?
18 every one who has fallen on that stone shall be broken, and on whom it may fall, it will crush him to pieces.'
18 Qualquer que cair sobre aquela pedra será despedaçado, mas naquele em que ela cair, ela triturará ao pó.
19 And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him in that hour, and they feared the people, for they knew that against them he spake this simile.
19 E os principais sacerdotes e os escribas procuraram lançar mão dele naquela mesma hora, mas eles temiam o povo; pois perceberam que ele tinha falado a parábola contra eles.
20 And, having watched him, they sent forth liers in wait, feigning themselves to be righteous, that they might take hold of his word, to deliver him up to the rule and to the authority of the governor,
20 E, eles vigiando-o, enviaram espiões, os quais se fingiam de homens justos, para o apanharem em alguma palavra, e o entregarem ao poder e à autoridade do governador.
21 and they questioned him, saying, 'Teacher, we have known that you do say and teach rightly, and do not accept a person, but in truth the way of God do teach;
21 E eles perguntaram-lhe, dizendo: Mestre, nós sabemos que tu falas e ensinas retamente, e que não fazes acepção de pessoas, mas ensinas o caminho de Deus verdadeiramente;
22 Is it lawful to us to give tribute to Caesar or not?'
22 é lícito dar tributo a César ou não?
23 And he, having perceived their craftiness, said unto them, 'Why me do you tempt?
23 Mas, ele percebendo a sua astúcia, disse-lhes: Por que vós me tentais?
24 show me a denary; of whom has it an image and superscription?' and they answering said, 'Of Caesar:'
24 Mostrai-me uma moeda. De quem é a imagem e a inscrição? E, eles respondendo, disseram: De César.
25 and he said to them, 'Give back, therefore, the things of Caesar to Caesar, and the things of God to God;'
25 E ele lhes disse: Dai, pois, a César as coisas que são de César, e a Deus as coisas que são de Deus.
26 and they were not able to take hold on his saying before the people, and having wondered at his answer, they were silent.
26 E eles não puderam tomá-lo em suas palavras diante do povo; e eles maravilhados da sua resposta, calaram-se.
27 And certain of the Sadducees, who are denying that there is a rising again, having come near, questioned him,
27 Então, chegaram-se a ele alguns dos saduceus, que negam haver ressurreição, e eles perguntaram-lhe,
28 saying, 'Teacher, Moses wrote to us, If any one's brother may die, having a wife, and he may die childless -- that his brother may take the wife, and may raise up seed to his brother.
28 dizendo: Mestre, Moisés nos escreveu que, se morresse o irmão de um homem, tendo esposa, e ele não deixasse filhos, seu irmão tomasse a esposa dele, e levantasse descendência a seu irmão.
29 'There were, then, seven brothers, and the first having taken a wife, died childless,
29 Houve, pois, sete irmãos; e o primeiro tomou uma mulher, e morreu sem filhos.
30 and the second took the wife, and he died childless,
30 E o segundo a tomou como esposa, e morreu sem filhos.
31 and the third took her, and in like manner also the seven -- they left not children, and they died;
31 E o terceiro a tomou, e semelhantemente também os sete, e eles não tiveram filhos e morreram.
32 and last of all died also the woman:
32 E depois de todos, a mulher também morreu.
33 in the rising again, then, of which of them does she become wife? -- for the seven had her as wife.'
33 Portanto, na ressurreição, de qual deles será a mulher? Pois os sete a tiveram por esposa.
34 And Jesus answering said to them, 'The sons of this age do marry and are given in marriage,
34 E, Jesus respondendo, disse-lhes: Os filhos deste mundo casam-se, e dão-se em casamento;
35 but those accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the rising again that is out of the dead, neither marry, nor are they given in marriage;
35 mas os que são considerados dignos de alcançar o mundo vindouro, e a ressurreição dos mortos, não se casam, nem se dão em casamento;
36 for neither are they able to die any more -- for they are like messengers -- and they are sons of God, being sons of the rising again.
36 nem podem mais morrer; porque são iguais aos anjos, e são filhos de Deus, sendo filhos da ressurreição.
37 'And that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the Bush, since he does call the Lord, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;
37 Agora que os mortos hão de ressuscitar, até Moisés o mostrou no arbusto, quando ele chamou ao Senhor Deus de Abraão, e Deus de Isaque, e Deus de Jacó.
38 and He is not a God of dead men, but of living, for all live to Him.'
38 Porque ele não é Deus de mortos, mas de vivos; porque todos vivem para ele.
39 And certain of the scribes answering said, 'Teacher, you did say well;'
39 Então, alguns dos escribas disseram, respondendo-lhe: Mestre, tu dissestes bem.
40 and no more did they question him anything.
40 E depois disso, eles não ousaram perguntar-lhe questão nenhuma.
41 And he said unto them, 'How do they say the Christ to be son of David,
41 E ele lhes disse: Como eles dizem que Cristo é filho de Davi?
42 and David himself said in the Book of Psalms, The Lord said to my lord, Sit you on my right hand,
42 E o próprio Davi disse no livro dos Salmos: O SENHOR disse ao meu Senhor: Assenta-te à minha direita,
43 till I shall make your enemies your footstool;
43 até que eu faça dos teus inimigos teu escabelo.
44 David, then, does call him lord, and how is he his son?'
44 Portanto, se Davi mesmo lhe chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?
45 And, all the people hearing, he said to his disciples,
45 Então, ouvindo-o todo o povo, ele disse aos seus discípulos:
46 'Take heed of the scribes, who are wishing to walk in long robes, and are loving salutations in the markets, and first seats in the synagogues, and first couches in the suppers,
46 Cuidado com os escribas, que querem andar com vestes compridas, e amam saudações nos mercados, e os principais assentos nas sinagogas, e os principais lugares nos banquetes;
47 who devour the houses of the widows, and for a pretence make long prayers, these shall receive more abundant judgment.'
47 que devoram as casas das viúvas, e, por aparência, fazem longas orações; estes receberão maior condenação.
