1 Praise ye Yah, Give ye thanks to YahwehFor he is good, For age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.
1 Louvai ao Senhor. Louvai ao Senhor, porque ele é bom; porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre.
2 Who can relate the mighty deeds of Yahweh? can cause to be heard, all his praise?
2 Quem pode referir os poderosos feitos do Senhor, ou anunciar todo o seu louvor?
3 How happy! They who observe justice, He that executeth righteousness at all times.
3 Bem-aventurados os que observam o direito, que praticam a justiça em todos os tempos.
4 Remember me, O Yahweh, when thou acceptest thy people, Visit me, with thy salvation;
4 Lembra-te de mim, Senhor, quando mostrares favor ao teu povo; visita-me com a tua salvação,
5 That I may look upon the welfare of thy chosen ones, That I may rejoice in the joy of thy nation, That I may glory, with thine inheritance.
5 para que eu veja a prosperidade dos teus escolhidos, para que me alegre com a alegria da tua nação, e me glorie juntamente com a tua herança.
6 We have sinnedwith our fathers, We have acted perversely, we have committed lawlessness;
6 Nós pecamos, como nossos pais; cometemos a iniqüidade, andamos perversamente.
7 Our fathers, in Egypt, understood not thy wonders, They remembered not the abounding of thy lovingkindnesses, but rebelled by the seaat the Red Sea.
7 Nossos pais não atentaram para as tuas maravilhas no Egito, não se lembraram da multidão das tuas benignidades; antes foram rebeldes contra o Altíssimo junto ao Mar Vermelho.
8 Yet he saved them, for the sake of his Name, to make known his mighty power;
8 Não obstante, ele os salvou por amor do seu nome, para fazer conhecido o seu poder.
9 So he rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up, And he led them through deeps, as pasture-land;
9 Pois repreendeu o Mar Vermelho e este se secou; e os fez caminhar pelos abismos como pelo deserto.
10 And saved them from the hand of one full of hatred, And redeemed them out of the hand of the foe;
10 Salvou-os da mão do adversário, livrou-os do poder do inimigo.
11 So the waters covered their adversaries, Not one from among them, was left.
11 As águas, porém, cobriram os seus adversários; nem um só deles ficou.
12 They believed therefore in his words, They sang his praise.
12 Então creram nas palavras dele e cantaram-lhe louvor.
13 Soon forgat they his works,They waited not for his counsel;
13 Cedo, porém, se esqueceram das suas obras; não esperaram pelo seu conselho;
14 But lusted a lust in the desert, and tested GOD in the waste.
14 mas deixaram-se levar pela cobiça no deserto, e tentaram a Deus no ermo.
15 So he gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.
15 E ele lhes deu o que pediram, mas fê-los definhar de doença.
16 And they became jealous of Moses in the camp,of Aaron the holy one of Yahweh;
16 Tiveram inveja de Moisés no acampamento, e de Arão, o santo do Senhor.
17 The earth opened and engulfed Dathan, and covered up the assembly of Abiram;
17 Abriu-se a terra, e engoliu a Datã, e cobriu a companhia de Abirão;
18 Then was kindled a fire in their assembly,a flame, consumed the lawless ones.
18 ateou-se um fogo no meio da congregação; e chama abrasou os ímpios.
19 They made a calf in Horeb,and bowed down to a molten image;
19 Fizeram um bezerro em Horebe, e adoraram uma imagem de fundição.
20 Thus changed they my glory, for the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
20 Assim trocaram a sua glória pela figura de um boi que come erva.
21 They forgat GOD their saviour, who had done great things in Egypt:
21 Esqueceram-se de Deus seu Salvador, que fizera grandes coisas no Egito,
22 Wonders in the land of Ham, Terrible things by the Red Sea.
22 maravilhas na terra de Cam, coisas tremendas junto ao Mar Vermelho.
23 Then would he have bidden to destroy them,had not Moses his chosen, stood in the breach before him, To turn back his wrath from destroying.
23 Pelo que os teria destruído, como dissera, se Moisés, seu escolhido, não se tivesse interposto diante dele, para desviar a sua indignação, a fim de que não os destruísse.
24 And they refused the delightful land, They believed not his word;
24 Também desprezaram a terra aprazível; não confiaram na sua promessa;
25 But murmured in their tents,They hearkened note unto the voice of Yahweh.
25 antes murmuraram em suas tendas e não deram ouvidos à voz do Senhor.
26 So he lifted up his hand unto them, that he would let them fall in the desert;
26 Pelo que levantou a sua mão contra eles, afirmando que os faria cair no deserto;
27 And would disperse their seed among the nations, and would scatter them throughout the lands.
27 que dispersaria também a sua descendência entre as nações, e os espalharia pelas terras.
28 Yet they let themselves be bound to Baal-peor,and did eat sacrifices to the dead:
28 Também se apegaram a Baal-Peor, e comeram sacrifícios oferecidos aos mortos.
29 So they provoked to anger by their doings, and a plague, made a breach among them.
29 Assim o provocaram à ira com as suas ações; e uma praga rebentou entre eles.
30 Then stood up Phinehas, and interposed, and stayed was the plague:
30 Então se levantou Finéias, que executou o juízo; e cessou aquela praga.
31 So it was counted unto him, for righteousness, To generation after generation, unto times age abiding.
31 E isto lhe foi imputado como justiça, de geração em geração, para sempre.
32 And they provoked by the waters of Meribah,And it fared ill with Moses, for their sakes;
32 Indignaram-no também junto às águas de Meribá, de sorte que sucedeu mal a Moisés por causa deles;
33 For they embittered his spirit, and he spake rashly with his lips.
33 porque amarguraram o seu espírito; e ele falou imprudentemente com seus lábios.
34 They destroyed not the peoples of which Yahweh had spoken to them;
34 Não destruíram os povos, como o Senhor lhes ordenara;
35 But had fellowship with the nations, and learned their doings;
35 antes se misturaram com as nações, e aprenderam as suas obras.
36 Yea they served their idols, and they became to them a snare:
36 Serviram aos seus ídolos, que vieram a ser-lhes um laço;
37 Yea they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to mischievous demons;
37 sacrificaram seus filhos e suas filhas aos demônios;
38 And poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, And the land was polluted with blood-shed;
38 e derramaram sangue inocente, o sangue de seus filhos e de suas filhas, que eles sacrificaram aos ídolos de Canaã; e a terra foi manchada com sangue.
39 And they became unclean by their works, and became unchaste in their doings.
39 Assim se contaminaram com as suas obras, e se prostituíram pelos seus feitos.
40 Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh with his people, and he abhorred his own inheritance.
40 Pelo que se acendeu a ira do Senhor contra o seu povo, de modo que abominou a sua herança;
41 So he delivered them up into the hand of the nations, And they who hated them, had dominion over them;
41 entregou-os nas mãos das nações, e aqueles que os odiavam dominavam sobre eles.
42 And their enemies oppressed them, And they were bowed down under their hand.
42 Os seus inimigos os oprimiram, e debaixo das mãos destes foram eles humilhados.
43 Many times, did he rescue them,But, they, rebelled by their counsel, and sank low in their iniquity.
43 Muitas vezes os livrou; mas eles foram rebeldes nos seus desígnios, e foram abatidos pela sua iniqüidade.
44 Then looked he on the distress which befell them,when he heard their loud cry;
44 Contudo, atentou para a sua aflição, quando ouviu o seu clamor;
45 Then remembered he, for them, his covenant, and was moved to pity, according to the abounding of his lovingkindnesses;
45 e a favor deles lembrou-se do seu pacto, e aplacou-se, segundo a abundância da sua benignidade.
46 And granted them compassion before all their captors.
46 Por isso fez com que obtivessem compaixão da parte daqueles que os levaram cativos.
47 Save us, O Yahweh our God, and gather us from among the nations, That we may give thanks unto thy holy Name, That we may triumph aloud in thy praise.
47 Salva-nos, Senhor, nosso Deus, e congrega-nos dentre as nações, para que louvemos o teu santo nome, e nos gloriemos no teu louvor.
48 Blessed be Yahweh, God of Israel, from one age even unto another, And all the people, shall say, Amen! Praise ye Yah!
48 Bendito seja o Senhor, Deus de Israel, de eternidade em eternidade! E diga todo o povo: Amém. Louvai ao Senhor.
