1 With her freedom, Christ hath made you, free. Stand fast, therefore, and do not, again, with a yoke of servitude, be held fast!
1 É para que sejamos homens livres que Cristo nos libertou. Ficai, portanto, firmes e não vos submetais outra vez ao jugo da escravidão.
2 See! I, Paul, say unto youif ye be getting circumcised, Christ will profit you, nothing.
2 Eis que eu, Paulo, vos declaro: se vos circuncidardes, de nada vos servirá Cristo.
3 Yea, I bear solemn witness again, unto every man getting circumcised,that he is, a debtor, to do, the whole law.
3 E atesto novamente, a todo homem que se circuncidar: ele está obrigado a observar toda a lei.
4 Ye have been set aside from Christ, ye who, by law, are to be declared righteous,out of his favour, ye have fallen;
4 Já estais separados de Cristo, vós que procurais a justificação pela lei. Decaístes da graça.
5 For, we, in Spirit, by faith, for a hope of righteousness, are ardently waiting,
5 Quanto a nós, é espiritualmente, da fé, que aguardamos a justiça esperada.
6 For, in Christ Jesus , neither, circumcision, availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith, through love, energising.
6 Estar circuncidado ou incircunciso de nada vale em Cristo Jesus, mas sim a fé que opera pela caridade.
7 Ye were running well:who hath hindered you, that, by truth, ye are not to be persuaded?
7 Corríeis bem. Quem, pois, vos cortou os passos para não obedecerdes à verdade?
8 The persuasion, not of him that calleth you:
8 Esta sugestão não vem daquele que vos chama.
9 A little leaven, leaveneth, the whole lump.
9 Um pouco de fermento leveda toda a massa.
10 I, am persuaded regarding you, in the Lordthat, for nothing else, ye will have any regard; but, he that is troubling you, shall bear the sentence,whosoever he may be.
10 Tenho confiança no Senhor a vosso respeito, que de maneira alguma mudareis de sentir. Portanto, quem vos perturbar responderá por isto, seja quem for.
11 I, however, brethrenif, circumcision, I yet proclaim, why am I yet persecuted? After all, the stumbling-block of the cross hath been set aside.
11 Se é verdade, irmãos, que ainda prego a circuncisão, por que, então, sou perseguido? Assim o escândalo da cruz teria cessado!
12 Oh! that they would even leave off in dismay, who are unsettling you!
12 Oxalá acabem por mutilar-se os que vos inquietam!
13 For, ye, on a footing of freedom, were called, brethren,only, not your freedom into an occasion to the flesh, but, by means of your love, be serving one another;
13 Vós, irmãos, fostes chamados à liberdade. Não abuseis, porém, da liberdade como pretexto para prazeres carnais. Pelo contrário, fazei-vos servos uns dos outros pela caridade,
14 For, the whole law, in one word, is summed up in this,Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself.
14 porque toda a lei se encerra num só preceito: Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo {Lv 19,18}.
15 If, however, one another, ye bite and devour, take heed lest, by one another, ye be consumed!
15 Mas, se vos mordeis e vos devorais, vede que não acabeis por vos destruirdes uns aos outros.
16 I say, moreoverby Spirit, be walking, and, fleshly coveting, ye will in nowise fulfil;
16 Digo, pois: deixai-vos conduzir pelo Espírito, e não satisfareis os apetites da carne.
17 For, the flesh, coveted against the Spirit, but, the Spirit, against the flesh,for, these, unto one another, are opposed, lest, whatsoever things ye chance to desire, these, ye should be doing!
17 Porque os desejos da carne se opõem aos do Espírito, e estes aos da carne; pois são contrários uns aos outros. É por isso que não fazeis o que quereríeis.
18 And, if, by Spirit, ye are being led, ye are not under law.
18 Se, porém, vos deixais guiar pelo Espírito, não estais sob a lei.
19 Manifest, however, are the works of the flesh, which, indeed, arefornication, impurity, wantonness,
19 Ora, as obras da carne são estas: fornicação, impureza, libertinagem,
20 idolatry, enchantment, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of wrath, factions, divisions, parties,
20 idolatria, superstição, inimizades, brigas, ciúmes, ódio, ambição, discórdias, partidos,
21 envyings, drunkenness, revellings;and such things as these: as to which I forewarn you, even as I have forewarned you,that, they who such things as these do practise, shall not inherit, Gods kingdom.
21 invejas, bebedeiras, orgias e outras coisas semelhantes. Dessas coisas vos previno, como já vos preveni: os que as praticarem não herdarão o Reino de Deus!
22 But, the fruit of the Spirit, islove, joy, peace, long-suffering, graciousness, goodness, faithfulness,
22 Ao contrário, o fruto do Espírito é caridade, alegria, paz, paciência, afabilidade, bondade, fidelidade,
23 meekness, self-control;against such things as these, there is no law.
23 brandura, temperança. Contra estas coisas não há lei.
24 And, they who are of Christ Jesus, have crucified, the flesh, with its susceptibilities and covetings.
24 Pois os que são de Jesus Cristo crucificaram a carne, com as paixões e concupiscências.
25 If we live by Spirit, by Spirit, let us also walk.
25 Se vivemos pelo Espírito, andemos também de acordo com o Espírito.
26 Let us not become vain-glorious,one another, challenging, one another, envying.
26 Não sejamos ávidos da vanglória. Nada de provocações, nada de invejas entre nós.
