1 WHAT then is the advantage of the Jew, or what is the benefit of circumcision?
1 Qual é, então, a vantagem do judeu? Ou qual a utilidade da circuncisão?
2 Much in every way. First, they were intrusted with the oracles of God.
2 Muita, sob todos os aspectos. Principalmente porque aos judeus foram confiados os oráculos de Deus.
3 For what if some were faithless, will their faithlessness prevent the faithfulness of God?
3 E então? Se alguns não creram, será que a incredulidade deles anulará a fidelidade de Deus?
4 Never. Let God be true, but every man a liar, as it is written, "That thou mayest be proved right in thy words and triumph when thou art judged."
4 De modo nenhum! Seja Deus verdadeiro, e todo ser humano, mentiroso, como está escrito: “Para que sejas justificado nas tuas palavras e venhas a vencer quando fores julgado.”
5 But if our unrighteousness shows the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous when he inflicts his wrath?
5 Mas, se a nossa injustiça evidencia a justiça de Deus, que diremos? Seria Deus injusto por aplicar a sua ira? Falo em termos humanos.
6 Never. If so how can God judge the world?
6 É claro que não. Do contrário, como Deus julgará o mundo?
7 But if the truth of God has become more abundant to his glory through my lie, why am I still condemned as a sinner?
7 E, se a minha mentira faz com que aumente a verdade de Deus para a sua glória, por que ainda sou condenado como pecador?
8 We are not going to say, as some people slanderously affirm that we say, "Let us do evil that good may come," are we? The condemnation of such people is just.
8 E por que não dizemos, como alguns caluniosamente afirmam que o fazemos: “Pratiquemos o que é mau, para que nos venha o que é bom”? A condenação destes é justa.
9 What then? Have we an advantage? Not at all. We have already brought the charge against both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin,
9 Que se conclui? Temos nós alguma vantagem? Não, de forma nenhuma. Pois já temos demonstrado que todos, tanto judeus como gregos, estão debaixo do pecado.
10 as it is written, "There is not even one righteous;
10 Como está escrito: “Não há justo, nem um sequer,
11 there is none that seeks God.
11 não há quem entenda, não há quem busque a Deus.
12 All have turned away; together they have become worthless; there is none who does what is useful, not even one.
12 Todos se desviaram e juntamente se tornaram inúteis; não há quem faça o bem, não há nem um sequer.
13 Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they deceive; the poison of asps is under their lips.
13 A garganta deles é sepulcro aberto; com a língua enganam, veneno de víbora está nos seus lábios.
14 Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness;
14 A boca, eles a têm cheia de maldição e amargura;
15 their feet are swift to shed blood;
15 os seus pés são velozes para derramar sangue.
16 ruin and misery are in their paths.
16 Nos seus caminhos, há destruição e miséria;
17 The path of peace they do not know.
17 eles não conhecem o caminho da paz.
18 There is no reverence for God before their eyes."
18 Não há temor de Deus diante de seus olhos.”
19 We know that all that the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law, that every mouth may be shut and all the world may come under the condemnation of God.
19 Ora, sabemos que tudo o que a lei diz é dito aos que vivem sob a lei, para que toda boca se cale, e todo o mundo seja culpável diante de Deus.
20 Therefore by works of the Law no human being will be pronounced righteous before him. For through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.
20 Porque ninguém será justificado diante de Deus por obras da lei, pois pela lei vem o pleno conhecimento do pecado.
21 But now, apart from law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, confirmed by the Law and the Prophets \'97
21 Mas, agora, sem lei, a justiça de Deus se manifestou, sendo testemunhada pela Lei e pelos Profetas.
22 a righteousness from God through faith in Jesus Christ for all believers. For there is no difference.
22 É a justiça de Deus mediante a fé em Jesus Cristo, para todos e sobre todos os que creem. Porque não há distinção,
23 All have sinned and have come short of the glory of God.
23 pois todos pecaram e carecem da glória de Deus,
24 All are pronounced righteous by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
24 sendo justificados gratuitamente, por sua graça, mediante a redenção que há em Cristo Jesus,
25 whom God has set forth as a propitiation by his blood through faith, for the manifestation of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previous sins in the forbearance of God \'97
25 a quem Deus apresentou como propiciação, no seu sangue, mediante a fé. Deus fez isso para manifestar a sua justiça, por ter ele, na sua tolerância, deixado impunes os pecados anteriormente cometidos,
26 for a manifestation at the present time of his righteousness, that he may himself be righteous and may accept as righteous him who has faith in Jesus.
26 tendo em vista a manifestação da sua justiça no tempo presente, a fim de que o próprio Deus seja justo e o justificador daquele que tem fé em Jesus.
27 Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what law? That of works? No, but by the law of faith.
27 Onde fica, então, o orgulho? Foi totalmente excluído. Por meio de que lei? A lei das obras? Não! Pelo contrário, por meio da lei da fé.
28 For we reason that a man is pronounced righteous by faith aside from works of law.
28 Concluímos, pois, que o ser humano é justificado pela fé, independentemente das obras da lei.
29 Does God belong to the Jews only? Does he not belong also to the Gentiles? Yes, to the Gentiles,
29 Ou seria Deus apenas Deus dos judeus? Será que não é também Deus dos gentios? Sim, também dos gentios,
30 if God is one and will pronounce the circumcision righteous by faith and the uncircumcision righteous through faith.
30 visto que Deus é um só, o qual justificará o circunciso a partir da fé e o incircunciso por meio da fé.
31 Do we then by faith nullify the Law? Never. On the contrary we establish the Law.
31 Anulamos, então, a lei por meio da fé? De modo nenhum! Pelo contrário, confirmamos a lei.
