10 Happy they who suffer persecution on account of righteousness; for the kingdom of heaven is theirs!

11 Happy shall you be, when men shall revile and persecute you; and, on my account, accuse you falsely of every evil thing!

16 Thus, let your light shine before men, that they, seeing your good actions, may glorify your Father, who is in heaven.

34 But I say to you, swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is God's throne;

35 nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; neither shall you swear by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King;

39 But I say to you, contend not with the injurious. But if any one strike you on the right cheek, turn to him also the left.

40 Whoever will sue you for your coat, let him have your mantle likewise.

43 «You have heard that it was said,'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'»

44 But I say to you, love your enemies; bless them who curse you; do good to them who hate you; and pray for them who arraign and persecute you;

45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven, who makes his sun arise on bad and good, and sends rain on just and unjust.
