1 A song of the degrees. Remember, O Lord, unto David all his afflictions;
1 Cântico das peregrinações. Senhor, lembrai-vos de Davi e de sua grande piedade,
2 How he swore unto the Lord; how he vowed unto the mighty One of Jacob:
2 como ele fez ao Senhor este juramento, e este voto ao Poderoso de Jacó:
3 Surely, I will not enter into the tent of my house, nor ascend the couch of my repose;
3 Não entrarei na tenda em que moro, não me deitarei no leito de meu repouso,
4 I will not grant any sleep to my eyes, nor to my eyelids any slumber:
4 não darei sono aos meus olhos, nem repouso às minhas pálpebras,
5 Until I shall have found out a place for the Lord, a dwellingplace for the mighty One of Jacob.
5 até que encontre uma residência para o Senhor, uma morada ao Poderoso de Jacó.
6 "Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we met with it in the fields of the forest:
6 Ouvimos dizer que a arca estava em Éfrata, nós a encontramos nas campinas de Jaar.
7 let us then go into his dwelling: let us prostrate ourselves before his footstool."
7 Entremos em sua morada, prostremo-nos diante do escabelo de seus pés.
8 Arise, O Lord, unto thy restingplace: thou, and the ark of thy strength.
8 Levantai-vos, Senhor, para vir ao vosso repouso, vós e a arca de vossa majestade.
9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy pious servants shout for joy.
9 Vistam-se de justiça os vossos sacerdotes, e jubilosos cantem de alegria vossos fiéis.
10 For the sake of David thy servant turn not away the face of thy anointed.
10 Pelo nome de Davi, vosso servo, não rejeiteis a face daquele que vos é consagrado.
11 The Lord hath sworn unto David in truth; he will not turn from it: "From the fruit of thy body will I set some one on the throne to succeed thee.
11 O Senhor fez a Davi um juramento, de que não há de se retratar: Colocarei em teu trono um descendente de tua raça.
12 If thy children will observe my covenant and this my testimony which I teach them: then also shall their children sit for evermore upon the throne to succeed thee."
12 Se teus filhos guardarem minha aliança e os preceitos que eu lhes hei de ensinar, também os descendentes deles, para sempre, sentar-se-ão em teu trono.
13 For the Lord hath made choice of Zion: he hath desired it as a habitation for himself.
13 Porque o Senhor escolheu Sião, ele a preferiu para sua morada.
14 This is my restingplace for evermore: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
14 É aqui para sempre o lugar de meu repouso, é aqui que habitarei porque o escolhi.
15 Her provision will I bless abundantly: her needy ones will I satisfy with bread.
15 Abençoarei copiosamente sua subsistência, fartarei de pão os seus pobres.
16 And her priests will I clothe with salvation: and her pious ones shall shout aloud for joy.
16 Revestirei de salvação seus sacerdotes, e seus fiéis exultarão de alegria.
17 There will I cause to grow a horn unto David: I arrange a lamp for my anointed.
17 Aí farei crescer o poder de Davi, aí prepararei uma lâmpada para o que me é consagrado.
18 His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown shine brilliantly.
18 Cobrirei de confusão seus inimigos; em sua fronte, porém, brilhará meu diadema.
